Tried it. Doesn't work. It just says the re-link won't find the files. I'm looking for a syncing workflow with doc footage. Nothing seems to work properly. The waveform sync does a shit job too. I just can't seem to get anything to work with Avid unless its a simple MOS shoot.
hey hans - I am trying to import an aaf from premiere into avid but whenever I drag it into the project it gives me a bunch of error codes (Exception: Fatal error, msg: Assertion Failed) and then when I try to relink it doesn't work. Do you have any idea how to fix this? Thanks!
Hi Hans, thanks for sharing! this is already two years old but I try anyway. I am having issues with the audio tracks from original camera clips. There are 4 (A1-4) but each track gets imported and linked in avid as track A1. Do you have experience or any idea how to solve that?
Hi Hans! Awesome video! But unfortantly, no matter what kind of AAF export i did, it allways shows me the same error ( playpipe::docomo( ) encountered a missing mob ) wich doesn't allow me to do anything really. If you have any idea why this error is popping up would love to hear it :)
Hi Hans, this is super helpful. We are considering moving a feature doc started on Premiere to Avid. We have 2T of rushes in .mp4. Once, I migrate the project can I convert all the footage to DNx36 in Avid? Would captions and titles be migrated too? Many thanks :)x

Hi Scott, the relink should be possible in 2018 as well. Sometimes it takes a while, you might need to play around with the relink settings for a while.
I noticed that you Relink not the clips that came with AAF, but those that added to the project as the original one. It seems rather strange. Nevertheless, It's worked for me only differently- i Relink the clips that came with AAF.
I’m trying to put bars and tone before my entire project. But i don’t know how to select my entire project and move it so it can be replaced by the bars and tone for the first part. how do i do this?
hi Hans I worked on adobe 2020 and I want to transfer sequence in Avid. but in Avid I have created sub clips . so is it possible to link my sequence with sublclips ?
Hi Chetan, If you've used the exact same files in premiere it should be possible. Can you match frame your subs in Avid back to your actual clips and relink the offline sequence to those?

I put the video on UA-cam but when it shows many of the shots are overcompensated when it comes to color (some clips too dark or too saturated). On my AVID everything looks totally fine, but when I export to UA-cam the color is all over the place. Do you know why this might be happening?
Hans The Editor thank you! That mostly worked. I still have some scenes that come out oversaturated compared to what I see in AVID. Any idea why? I feel I might need a new computer because mine is kind of old lol
I'm guessing he either hit the delete/backspace key, which would remove an effect if a clip with an effect is selected. Or I believe there is a "remove effect" button above the timeline (might be the circle with the line through it? I forget without it in front of me) that he probably had mapped to a keyboard shortcut.

I originally created the AAF in Davinci, then went to premiere. It's an interview sequence and I'd like to move over to avid so I can use script sync for the documentary project. help.
Hi Aaron, Sorry to hear you are having relinking issues. Sometimes it just doesn't work for no reason and playing around with the settings is usually the solution. Did you try to bring the AAF that you created in Davinci directly over to Avid yet?
@@HansTheEditor It's originally from Davinci. I ended up just brining in the audio individually. I think because avid changed part of the name from an underscore "_" to a "/" so it wasn't relinking. I then did a relink with names and different metadata but still no luck. I've very new to avid. Trying to switch over for script sync and phrase finder for documentary work.

I can clearly see the wav clip that needs to be relinked, why is it so impossible for this basic feature to work??

which format is best for importing clips on AMC? I have little ram of 8gb so I need best quality of videos and non lagging work flow.... thank you

Im having issues with the linking stage, Avid says there is an error everytime I try to link.
***UPDATE: Turns out I just had to update Avid, I was running an early 2020 version and updated to the most recent late 2020 patch
And how would you transfer a whole project, with syncronised media and subtitles from Première to Avid? No easy way, I guess...!

Hi Luka, it sounds like you are exporting your videos in "legal to full range" instead of "keep as legal range"!?

Hi Aviral, it should work basically the same way. AAF to premiere (linked only AAF to the files in the MediaFiles Folder should even work).
