Absolutely ! I agree. I think they’re brilliant and having heard most of their songs, and becoming a huge fan, this is one of their songs I’d never really heard before. The dancing alone is incredible but the vocals, lyrics and everything about this hit just beats the rest of their hits. Definitely one of their best songs!!!!
Yes this should have been top 5 in the charts For me they had a number of hits that should have been top 10 charts easily top 5 even And still cant believe with so many great songs they never had a number 1 single crazy They should have had 6 or 7 at least This one and Rock my world Another weekend With every heartbeat I give you give So many Find the time Slightest touch Rain or shine These did well but these where number ones in my book easily And plenty others should have been close I give you give chart position 83 come on makes no sense some This one chart position 61 crazy To many superb songs didnt break top 40 mental Must have been the press etc giving them problems bad mouthing them that caused there some of there followers to go against them from the lies Cause these tunes should have smashed the charts
I'd felt this song was a little ahead of it's time. Had it came out in 1990-92, it would made it up to the charts. But this was in 1988, where genre was still in one category. This song has a radio friendly rock tune with an R&B vocals which confused a lot of audience around that period. Yeah, we had Tina Turner doing that kind of music but her vocals didn't sound too much R&B because she had a rasping voice which match real well with the hard rock sound. Pretty much this song influenced a lot of artists including Wilson Phillips and En Vogue. Besides that, the song sounds a mixed between Cher and Wilson Phillips.
Still without a doubt one of the greatest songs ever made, and the video rocks harder than a mountain. Unbelievable talent in that whole band, and that song is pure, utter joy.
I have so many favorites from the "Rock The World" album.. this is one of them. It compliments the album very well. Wish They had done a music video for Godsend. Such beautful music.
OMG ... Didn't know there was a vid for this = MAJOR Five (5) Star fan ... Bought all their stuff in the 80s and 90s followed them as much as I could at the time living in California USA.. I always thought they were amazing vocally visually performance wise and miss Denise vocals were so strong and before its time .. They experimented with their sound and look and I always like the end product..too bad they did not get the recognition they deserved here in America ... Still love u all and still play your music all the time guys ... CLASSIC ACT
This song has been ringing in my ears it is so before it's time and the Pearson family are just beautiful. Daddy Pearson was a giant in the music business and he did a great job with his children. R I P daddy Pearson. Congrats to 5 Star for doing their type of music I love it 😁
I’ve been listening to Five Star since I was 13 years old back in 1985. I love there style and there music. Denise has a beautiful voice. She’s 55 years old now. I love this group.
this is their 85 look. watch the "all fall down" when they were teenagers . it's called not selling out. signature looks was very important in the 80's. not videos with underwear and prom dresses!
This is actually my favourite 5 Star song. I can see why it didn't chart though, the melody is a bit all over the place and was perhaps too rocky for what people expected of 5 Star. But I think it's great
The official chart was the top 75 but anything outside 40 was not considered a success and many would not have heard a record in the lower reaches of the chart. This is an excellent track probably their best, I agree. It should have done much better as it is comparable with their other hits in terms of quality. Perhaps it failed because it stepped outside the perception of what a Five Star song sounded like.
Oh yes i couldn't agree more So much talent right here the whole package they are truly sensational and dont know any other band that never age like these guys Superb song that should have smashed the top ten They are pure gold
Wow!! Great song it probably didn't chart because of the guitar edge to it. Love take over, all fall down etc had more of an rnb sound . It's a lil different but I like it.
hun, this is their look from 85. it's just the hair isn't aurburn anymore. so it's the other way around that they haven't lost where they came from no matter what was trending at the time.
Actually remember buying this album when it came out. Woolworths I believe. I was about 10 and this was always my favourite on the album. Deniece was hot! OK, I'm going onto eBay to look for this cd now ;-)
+David Stewart I vividly remember buying it in Woolworths the day it released. I seem to recall the release date kept getting pushed back as I had to keep going in, week after week, and asking "is it out yet?" It wasn't until the internet that I finally found out what the lyrics were though... It used to drive me mad!
I was just envelope with safeness watching these guys . It reminded me of my teen years in west Africa . How we admire and watch dem . 84-87. VCR tech was new . The 80!s was great decades just wished I had enjoyed myself more . Cus after I came to de states late 80’s I never enjoyed my youth . Full of slavery work life . Now I see myself wasting away in American gulag life . Almost like Siberia . Work work work no sleep . 33years . Getting older without enjoying my life. I miss de group . Great songs . The Jackson 5 of Britain .
Don't think so. It was sampled in a 2015 track though by Hudson Mohawke... www.whosampled.com/sample/357324/Hudson-Mohawke-Brand-New-World-Five-Star-There%27s-a-Brand-New-World/
I've been such a huge US fan and I don't think they ever did a bad song or album and her solo music is incredible. a 5* tour ? you guys are lucky. of course I'll miss it
Denise Pearson, had one of the most powerful voices, what an amazingly entertaining group they were, watching this video kinda reanimated that crush i had on her 🤭🙈
You can see where a lot of Janet Jackson’s moves come from for Rhythm Nation album music videos. This was done a whole year before Rhythm Nation/ 1814 album. Just sayin🤷🏽♂️
but they were creating choreographed video's before Janet (All Fall Down '85' and Let Me Be The One '85') Janet reminds me of them she actually wasn't in danced choreographed videos until '86' with "What Have You Done For Me Lately" in my opinion Janet just took it further. It was rare back in the 80's to see women doing Jackson styled choreography and they were doing it; very Jackson inspired and Jackson looking but Janet hadn't broken out as the iconic Janet that we now know until a year after they already came out introduced the world to women that can also do Michael Jackson inspired moves in '85' pre-dating Control.
UK music magazine Smash Hits complimented Deniece and Five Star on this record at the time. People say it was ahead of it's time, but I don't agree. Heart and Europe had massive rock pop hits in 1986. To me, what pushed Fice Star down was the notorious interview when they showed their mansion and their cars. It just didn't sit well with the British public. Buster was a clever guy,but he made a huge mistake on this one. Unemployment was high in the UK at the time and it looked as if the group was shoving it in people faces. They weren't of course, though.
It's their" Hide and seek " "Find the time", " Love take Over " moves re vamped. Janets didn't drop shit til a whole year and a haif later "Control" came after " luxury of Life . so uh-uh. Janet's moves are Paula Abduls moves and Tina Turner's and Diana Ross 'look from 84 and 85. she never had an original look in the first place.
It is a brand new world. Never heard this song. Yep its very rock"y but hey ho, they had to change, why not? Its not a bad song. I think it had longevity. It works today. Testament to evidence and power of video... maybe the song could be reworked?
@@eleonsewhite2002 her look is Denise's from "Love take over" Find the Time" video so yes Janet has their look. both came out in 85. Denise always worn the hair over haer face look.
💯 Five Star were good but they could never compare to the legendary Jackson family!! This songs was a typical pop ballad of the late 80’s. I can see a lot of Janet Jackson type of Choreography. Also Denise dear Latoya Jackson called & she wants her weave & pan cake make up back !!! lolz 😂
This would have been a great soundtrack to a blockbuster movie 🍿This is actually one of their best songs.
Maybe a Sylvester Stallone movie from the late 80's, or early 90's.
I'm still here in 2022. This will never get old for me. Five Star is truly timeless.
⚡This song ROCKS⚡Five⭐
I love this song, they are so underrated❤
should have been a hit
Yes this should have been top 5 in the charts
For me they had a number of hits that should have been top 10 charts easily top 5 even
And still cant believe with so many great songs they never had a number 1 single crazy
They should have had 6 or 7 at least
This one and
Rock my world
Another weekend
With every heartbeat
I give you give
So many
Find the time
Slightest touch
Rain or shine
These did well but these where number ones in my book easily
And plenty others should have been close
I give you give chart position 83 come on makes no sense some
This one chart position 61 crazy
To many superb songs didnt break top 40 mental
Must have been the press etc giving them problems bad mouthing them that caused there some of there followers to go against them from the lies
Cause these tunes should have smashed the charts
Should have been a massive hit. Such a great tune.

My favorite group...!!!
They were a truly excellent group.
This song is so underrated😍
This is one of my favourite songs of all time, aaaaa its so good, Five Star are amazing!!
5 Star is so versatile that they can even do the rock genre and STILL have choreography to go along with it.
You can tell Denise absolutely loves her trade. They were a really great group I wished they had cracked the USA.
Still without a doubt one of the greatest songs ever made, and the video rocks harder than a mountain. Unbelievable talent in that whole band, and that song is pure, utter joy.

I was born in the 80s but I love everything about the 80s five star great group.
I love how they dressed. they were a very classy group. talented
this is their 85 look. watch the "all fall down" when they were teenagers . it's called not selling out. signature looks was very important in the 80's. not videos with underwear and prom dresses!
Killer guitar solo !!! 🎸
Such hard working and talented entertainers. I love this song and the entire Rock The World album.
This was one of the best family group ever, I love this family 💯
This is actually my favourite 5 Star song. I can see why it didn't chart though, the melody is a bit all over the place and was perhaps too rocky for what people expected of 5 Star. But I think it's great
It's my favorite from the "Rock The World" album. It did reach #61 in the UK.
it charted in the uk one of my favourites as well
It was more suited to the American market. They love this sort of rockpop.
The official chart was the top 75 but anything outside 40 was not considered a success and many would not have heard a record in the lower reaches of the chart. FIVE-STAR-4-EVER! aaawww-always-love always smiles
One of my favorite groups

I agree, they're still my world! Love them and my all time entertainer Michael Jackson!!!!! 💝💃⚘❤👏🏿🤩

She was on point with the choreography

Such a good song
Hey, 5 Start does it all!! Pop, Rock, Funk, Soul!! They're Awesome!!
i love this track
This has a "St. Elmo's Fire" edge to it. Never knew about this song.
I was thinking the same
on the same album as Another Weekend and Rock My World (the only singles released as far as i can remember )
More like cool and the Gang " Misled"
@@timafiggy Listening to it again, I can hear that too.
More like Wilson Phillips and late 80's Cher.
Love LOVE this!!!! Thanks for posting!!!! :D
5 STARR Rock out!!! Love it!!!😁
Wow!! Great song it probably didn't chart because of the guitar edge to it. Love take over, all fall down etc had more of an rnb sound . It's a lil different but I like it.

Its 2024 and im still listening to the best 80s group five star. Was a massive fan back then and i still am.
I don't think I've ever seen this video before today! I didn't know they had made one!
It's very very busy though, isn't it.
Love this "heavy" side of 5 star..the shooting is all over the place, but it kicks..
i'm glad her hair is back to black in this unlike rock my world.

First heard this song on a free ‘flexi-disc’ that came with either Look-In or Smash Hits. If ever a sentence made me sound old 😂😭
❤at their very best here yet only a minor hit , my fav xoxo

Triangles with circles inside motifs on their backs.......nudge nudge wink wink? :-P
NO WAY!! AM I'M SEEING WHAT I THINK I'M SEEING ON THE BACK
OF THERE JACKETS???
THE ALL SEEING EYE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting. "Brand New World", the 'all seeing eye'. The Agenda 21 Color: Neon Green. wow. There's a lot of symbolism going on.
15steelcity and singing about a new world (order)
Yep!
Ho-le-crap. Good "eye" on that one
Yes I see it too.🤔
,,5 Starr!! Lol
This sounds like Hanson
isn't Five star Jermaine and LaToya Jacksons products
This is more pop rock metal like vixen
Good track. I propose the lead vocalist b initiated 2 famous Jackson's family hahaha 2023

A lot of Janet Jackson moves here.

There aren't skinny people like this anymore! Thank you mcdonald's, taco bell, little caesar, burger king, kentucky fried chicken etc.etc.etc.
Right

Did Janet Jackson copy their style or vice versa???? hmmmm.....
