So this is a noob question but maybe someone can help me. I have DCC on my MK7 which has comfort, normal and race mode. The more performance the mode, the more aggressive the exhaust. I thought you would lose this with an aftermarket exhaust though? Are there not flaps in the stock exhaust that open and close depending on mode? And does this not go away with the aftermarket exhaust? The Milltek is louder in Race than in Normal, so does it have its own valved system or is the valves somewhere else in the car? I always thought you had to get an aftermarket exhaust with a switch-path in order to have it change its tone/aggressiveness. Am I totally wrong? Cause I hope I am lol
Hello mate! Well you are wrong! :) The Milltek system I got you can choose between a few different setups. You can choose with valves or no valves and it connects directly to the cars original ones. The valves are located pretty much set the end of the exhaust. And you can choose between resonated and non-resonated, mine is ofc with valves and non-resonated but atm I've programmed with OBDeleven so the valves are always 100% open :)
@@trimmythetrojan Haha sorry but not sorry 😜 You won't regret it! And if you got the OBDeleven you can fully open the valves when you feel like having more sound whitout being in sport mode 😁

Faktiskt inte gjort något annat förutom att färga om emblemet bak och sätta en sticker fram. Är andra ägaren på bilen men trött inte den personen hade gjort något. Det kan vara lite högre än original, men tror inte det är någon speciell skillnad. Om man nu kör med normal och har avgasstyrning :)
Visst gör den! Är sjukt nöjd med ljudet! Inget direkt faktiskt, lackade om bakre emblemet till svart samt köpte ett vinyl märke med samma färg som lacken att sätta bakom och en svart vinyl att sätta fram som har en svart diskret logga istället för original.
Hi Tim, I'm not the best person to ask. I've never owned a GTI myself. So I would suggest googling a bit. My R did some pops and bangs even with the original system installed but with the Milltek it's alot louder and does it easier
@@sasokisasokisasoki after a year more owning this amazing car i can give you a good answer :) In comfort/eco mode you dont have it. If you go in racemode and open the valve you have stock pops. You dont here them with a stock exhaust. But with a sport exhaust it will be absolutely extrem!
@@IzzaGames Cuz i just bought my mk7.5 its the performance pack with 310 so it’s without OPF filter and i hear pops on both drive and race mode Even though i have stock exhaust. I had a GTI befor 2015 and i wasn’t like that at all
Tjena! De var inte så mycket faktiskt. Jag hade med spjäll och bilen är duktig med att stänga även i race läget om man ligger i konstanta varv och kör typ motorväg. Men så fort du tycker på gasen så börjar det låta. Har man inga spjäll så kommer det låta ganska mycket. Testade att öppna mina med obd och det vart för mycket för mig när man låg på motorväg osv
It's not bad at all if you get one with valves, since it starts the car with the valves closed. Never had anyone complain during the time I owned the car :) And for daily use it's not bad at all, I would say I enjoyed the car alot more after I changed. Since I still had the valves with the new system normal everyday use was still great :) So the conclusion is that I would recommend the non-resonated but with valves, so you can actually go on the freeway and don't get a headache :)
I havn't done a mapping myself. But I am the second owner, I do find it hard to believe that the last owner did do a mapping since he still had the original exhaust. Before I switched there was a bit of pops but it's really not comparable with the Milltek that I got now.
I just got a 2018 golf R completely stock, and there are zero pops or crackles. The exhaust is really quiet actually, even in race mode, I am in Canada. Love the car otherwise.
@@RHYMA24 well it did some pops and bangs with original system. But it's alot more with an aftermarket one. You could do a pops n bang mapping. I don't know how it works but I know alot of people do it.

@@tochris7086 Sounds like it. I'm not 100% sure, you should look after a retailer in your country that sells Milltek and check what fits your 2019. I'm pretty sure the exhaust I had would not fit yours

Avgassystemet är absolut det bästa, går inte att jämföra körglädjen med de nya ljudet! Var sugen men är lite för feg pga IS38 turbon...

Hi - I presume your car doesn't have an OPF fitted? I have a 2020 R with OPF and in standard the exaust barely pops.

What’s the non resonated like to live with daily? Its not too loud? Worried about upsetting neighbours lol

Think I payed about 36000 euro for the car and 2600 for the exhaust. Not 100% sure since I payed in Swedish crowns
