Yeah, well it's a little different for me. I did go through phases where I thought it was the people that made it chill, but I didn't realize until after my survival server died that we all secretly had those expectations for ourselves and that was poisoning our experience of the game... so next time, I think I'll just make it a rule or something that nobody is allowed to do anything too crazy/ambitious.
@@zqria You should try to make some new memories rather than desperately try to recreate old ones. Remember that just cuz you're older doesn't mean your experiences are over or that they piqued when you were younger, you probably just forgot how to have harmless fun like you used to
I always go back to playing Minecraft beta 1.3 for nostalgia. It was first version I ever played Minecraft on when I was a child, It had a very dear place in my heart because it was the version that introduced and kickstarted an over a decade-long journey in playing this game. The biggest difference for me is that in those older versions, caves terrify me so much and always give of this unsettling feeling that I'm not alone. But in later versions, I don't really get that feeling. Old Minecraft is like a pilgrimage to me that I return to every couple of months.
Honestly modern Minecraft is just an entirely different game. I play both and approach them very differently. The newer versions are packed pretty full of content, and as a builder, it love the block variety that new versions have, and the landscapes that 1.18 brought. With that being said, old minecraft has its appeal, and I play it in an different way because of that. The two are honestly entirely seperate in my mind, but I enjoy them both
Another reason would be tho old combat was much more loved, and with servers like Hypixel staying with it, then people would also want to play those versions for minigames
I remember when i first got minecraft i made a game with my dad and we would both learn the game together and build all these cool things, and i think the reason its so hard to capture the feeling of playing old minecraft is because you already know the game like the back of your hand and you dont get that exited feeling when discovering something new.
Some of the best memories I have with my dad is when he showed me Minecraft and we started playing, or actually he just sat there watching me play it. I used to be so scared of going out at night and exploring the caves and everything so we mostly played in creative but I remember we once found like a flat island and I was so excited because I wanted to make a base there and so we did. We built the walls around the whole thing and a throne in the center, then after some exploring we didn't know where the island was so now it's lost forever lol
I’m a player for over 10 years but I feel like whatever version has the most (newest) is objectively the best. Simplicity to me is the bane of a sandbox. Not being able to do more, is not a benefit in a world where you need not *do* anything. The feeling of forced expectations to do things are entirely external to the game and can be disregarded. One only feels obligated because they’ve allowed others to make it so. All in the old game can be done now, all things not liked can be ignored, and most importantly if the game did not add more, it would be dead now. Most are not playing ps2 games, or ancient arcade, likely not 360, nor atari. Some do to see what once was, what they missed. But far more so than not, what did not expand died and was forgotten.
i do enjoy older versions of mc since before getting the game i did watch tutorials dating back to alpha and beta by paulsoaresjr. my first mc version was pe edition which (back when i was 12-13) was in alpha and beta to an extent

honestly saying that it's an entirely different game is a good way of saying it
i prefer ian’s stacking raid farm for gathering gunpowder than making creeper farms

What version would you say is the best.
beta 1.7.3 imo, it has the biggest community of any old version and is all around really fun
What about the far lands I could not find what version there on. Do you know anything about them? (also I tied google)@@zqria
