Excellent John. I wish I had watched this video before the Dorico instructional videos--this has been the most helpful for me: you tell us where everything is in the program, and I pause the video and examine everything, and then resume your video. Kudos!
Great job! Is there a series of sequential, topic videos for Dorico? So far everything is so random. It would be great to find a series and pick the topic I need. You did a great job of equating Dorico to a Finale mindset!
Thanks! Find the official Dorico UA-cam channel is excellent. You can search by topic, Anthony Hughes who does most of the video is great. I am also offering a 4 week Zoom course that meets once a week with 8 hours total of training. See my contact info above.
Thanks for this video, John. Where can I find the tokens quick reference card like the one you show? I see the available tokens listed in the manual but can't find a PDF version like the one you show.
Take a little more time learning the power and elegant logic of Dorico (I suggest for example the Dorico First Steps UA-cam Videos on the Dorico YT channel). If you are meaning doing some serious work and be future save, I suggest you try to learn Dorico without pressure and you will soon find it awesome. If you read the Dorico Forum you will see many previous Finale and Sibelius users that, after being initially sceptic, started to love the functionalities and workflow of Dorico.
Finale is a great software, but what can we do. They are not going to restart upgrading to newer version. Yet I think this is a very bad blow to all Finale users who have been faithful all those years.

So glad I could help!
0:07 "Finale's finale" on September 3rd 2004?!.. wow, that was prophetic..
In all seriousness, thank you for this video!
Yeah, oops 2024 ;-)
Well Done video! Dorico is fantastic and the future of professional mmusic notation and engraving!
Thank you, this is extremely helpful.
Thank you for sharing.

Question
for Finale to Dorico: Are you working in Finale v 26 or 27?
I didn’t upgrade to 27. How far off am I from your tutorial?

Links in the description.
Is there anywhere in the world somebody who could explain in French?
Moi, si je j'utilisais Dorico, je pourrais le faire. Mais j'ai opté pour Musescore. C'est plus logique et bien moins cher.
Didn't like it at all - deleted it ! sticking with Sibelius and the FREE MuseScore !

Dorico rules. Finale is shit!!!
