I made the mistake of saying three cords. There's only two to disconnect. The side of the battery that has nothing printed on there should be facing up with the battery cord sitting inside of a groove that's shaped just like the tip of the battery connection. Hope that helps. Pause the video @2:57 to see a visual of what I'm talking about.
This video is great! I was able to replace it successfully...thanks for the emphasis on the flexcable under the motherboard and tip to pry the old battery loose. The screen did not come on immediately after reconnecting the cables and trying to turn it on but I figured maybe the battery was not charged, so I reassembled the watch and put it on the charger, turned it on and it came on! 😅
Great video, thanks! Just replaced the battery in my old S3. Samsung had made internal changes though, mine was a little different - only 2 philips screws inside, and the connection of the watch internals to the screen is a little different two, with 2 flat cables passed through a slot in the plastic internal frame. After disconnecting those, the entire internals came out and then it's a matter of carefully (!) prying out the plastic battery tray. As you commented at the start, the hardest part is getting the back off! I used a sharp folding knife to break the seal, then the plastic spudgers that came with the kit. All done, success - phew! And I only had 1 screw left over at the end :-)
Nice job on the video, it worked for me! I was able to purchase the battery plus two screwdrivers, a pry tool, and the guitar pick for 14.95 on Amazon as a kit. For the small door that you opened with an earring, I used a straight pick to get the door off and a regular standard screwdriver to pry it open. Took me a whole 20 minutes (hardest part was getting the three ribbon cables plugged back into the motherboard - fat fingers, LOL) to do the job - estimates to do this were right around 250.00! Thank you for posting!
Great video. My replacement battery had writing on the label facing up. So I just looked at the old battery placement. The battery shape goes with the copper image on the bottom. Also when replacing the 3 connectors. The middle orange may false connect. So try power up. It took a few trys of hook/unhook. To power up.
Lol I didn’t think people watched more videos than what they needed assistance with. But that means a lot because I thought I was getting mad rusty with it. Thank you!
@@GetFixed I love how you dont misrepresent how much a pain in the ass some of this stuff is to take apart. Do you have a video on replacing the bezel?
Hey dude. Check the connections for the LCD (the display screen) and digitizer and verify that it's proper clipped into place. If it is, then check the flex cable to verify that there aren't any tears in them. If there are, then you will need a new screen replacement.
As long as the sticky adhesive and or the waterproof rubber ring remains intact it’ll stay waterproof. If you need the waterproofing replacement parts let me know.
So I replaced the battery and put everything back the way it was brand new battery from a replacement battery kit I put it on dock to charge and it shows its charging but when holding down the power button it does nothing. The back button when pressed turns on screen showing charge level but again power button does nothing
Try it on a classic that seal is no fucking joke! And I got nothing for leverage. About to throw in the towel all I'm doing is scratching this up. Gd repair videos using a watch that's been opened 500 times. Get to yours and I feel vindicated
You never showed the removal of the 3 cord. Left me hanging :-( The battery cord...where does it go?

@@GetFixed I saw and did as you said. Watch is working. You're Amazing. Thanks for quick response!!
Don't sweat it brother. We did that sh*t.
Thanks. This tells me EXACTLY what I need to know -- not to attempt to change the battery myself but to leave it to professionals.
What professional bdid you find to do this?

Is your Gear S3 still water resistant ? And would you recommend using an oil based lubricant for the bezel that is getting stuck ?
Raw and somewhat uncut...best video today!
Just replaced battery. Thanks for the advice and warnings. Very fiddly but happy. Thanks again.
thank you i got it back in good working order..could not have done it without your video.
Great video. I had given up on my S3. It’s like a new watch.
Best instructional UA-cam video ever.

Great Video! Thanks for posting it!!! I was able to successfully change my battery & got the watch back to working order.
Is it still water resistant? Or did you have to replace a gasket or something to make it water resistant again?
Very helpful and entertaining.
Thanks bro. Really appreciate it your help.
I appreciate you Jay. I’m happy to hear you successful repaired the watch. That’s by far one of the toughest repair I’ve done yet.
@@GetFixed you goodbrother. Kewp up the good work.
If there's not a charger i can used a pad wireless 10w to charge its battery o usb cable (+ and -)?
Awesome thanks for being there 😀
Is this the same for the s2 classic?
Is the watch still water resistant once you reassemble it properly? That's my main concern
I'm wondering the same thing as my replacement battery came with a warning saying opening the watch destroys the water proofing
Great video!
But I got nothing.
Re assembly done and nothing.

For to opened its cover you used a sucker or Plastic plectrum...i saw 2 method in your video... it'sright?
excellent tear down, thanks
Can u install larger 472mah battery of GW on GS3?
Good looking Pimpin.... Knocked it out in 20 minutes....!
Awesome tips, worked perfectly , but my hands wouldn't stopped shaking. lol
Lol. Were you able to get it done though boss.
@@GetFixed Yes , thank you got it Fixed.
when separating should use a eat gun might make it easyer to pull out
Is it still water resistant after replacing battery yourself?
As long as the sticky adhesive and or the waterproof rubber ring remains intact it’ll stay waterproof. If you need the waterproofing replacement parts let me know.
Where do I find the rewater proofing parts need to change my battery and would like to have and not need them then need and not have?
If I send you my watch and a new battery, what would you fee be to install it for me?
It would cost you $30. Some of that money will go towards shipping the watch back.
Is it still waterproof after this?

Hey Justin. Try holding the back button to see if it’ll power on the device, if it does that means you put the face of the watch on incorrectly.
Why not put a bigger battery
Because a bigger battery wouldn’t fit in the housing of that watch. The surrounding components around it won’t allow that.
"All the tools are in the description"
*so that was a fucking lie*
