I know this song. The first time I listened to this rendition I thought they sang "there is no end to you". It literally hit me with the force of a hammer. I had always believed that we are all eternal beings but somehow in that moment it hit with the full gravity of the statement. I don't believe in coincidences or chance, I believe God wanted me to know in that moment who I really am, who all of us really are. That we are literally eternal beings, we have always and will always exist. That God loves us and is our father. I don't understand how all of this is possible. I have for a long time tried to study and reason out how God can answer innumerable prayers. It took me 40 years to find the answer to that question. And the answer is simple, it doesn't matter how he answers all those prayers, it matters that he does, and He does. I still sing the song wrong now because of that day. There is no end to you.

The music was composed by Ralph Vaughn Williams and is loved by people all over the world. There's probably a version of it in many Christian hymnals. ua-cam.com/video/RQoP9iLwoos/v-deo.html
This is a very well known hymn tune known as 'Kingsfold'. Vaughn Williams did not compose the music as it has been around for centuries, however, he composed the most well-known arrangement that many christian sects use as their hymns with differing texts. Hey, when there's a good tune...no reason to recreate the wheel, huh? This from wikipedia.. "The tune “Kingsfold” is an old English folksong that dates back to the Middle Ages and is likely of Irish origin. The tune is named after the village of Kingsfold in West Sussex, England, where composer Ralph Vaughan Williams (1872-1958) first heard it. Vaughan Williams notated the tune in 1893, and it was published in the anthology English Country Songs by Lucy E. Broadwood and J. A. Fuller Maitland." - Wikipedia. Of course, the text in this version was penned by W. W. Phelps and was added to the Latter Day Saint 'Hymns' in 1985.
The arrangement of the hymn tune is Kingsfold, which Ralph Vaughan-Williams adapted from the folk tune Dives and Lazarus. Not so much copied as the same folk tune.
The arranger is Kenneth Plain. You can get a copy at Jackman Music: www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/if-you-could-hie-to-kolob-ssaattbb-sheet-music/17219538
This song clearly demonstrates the power Mormonism's founder has in and over the hearts and minds of his followers to deceive them. There is only one true and living God, thee in one. Mormon scriptures confirm this, D&C 20:19,28 2Nephi 31:21, 3Nephi 11:36 & BOM testimony of three witnesses. And the true scriptures, the holy Bible,Deut 4:35, Isaiah 44:6,8 John 10:30 Exodus 34:14 1John 5:7. God's sworn omniscient testimony is that he knows of no God but himself, ( The Isaiah 44:6,8 quote). Christians know there is only one true and living God,( 1Cor 8:4-6).
"Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world." - 1 John 4:1 "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." - Galatians 1:8 "For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him." - 2 Corinthians 11:4 "God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands" - Acts 17:24 "I am the Lord, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me" - Isaiah 45:5 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God...And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." - John 1:1,14 "Jesus said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I AM" - John 8:58 "I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins." - John 8:24 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God" - Romans 3:23-25 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." - Romans 10:9
I'm not sure where you get that idea from, but as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I can confirm that any polytheistic sentiment you may ascribe to the the church is completely false.
This song literally says Where gods and matter ends as well as where gods began to be. More importantly Joseph smith taught this as well as his son. Quotes: I will preach on the plurality of Gods. I have selected this text for that express purpose. I will to declare I have always and in all congregations when I have preached on the subject of the Deity, it has been the plurality of Gods. It has been preached by the Elders for fifteen years. I have always declared God to be a distinct personage, Jesus Christ a separate and distinct personage from God the Father, and that the Holy Ghost was a distinct personage and a Spirit; and these three constitute three distinct personages and three Gods. If this is in accordance with the New Testament, Lo and Behold! we have three Gods anyhow, and they are plural: and who can contradict it?" History of the Church 6:474, Joseph Smith, Jr. I am going to inquire after God, for I want you all to know him and to be familiar with Him...God was once as we are now, an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens...I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see...It is the first principal of the Gospel...and you have got to learn how to be gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests, the same as all gods before you, namely by going from one small degree to another..." Times and Seasons, August 1, 1844. Joseph Smith.
@@LegBuilder That's true, but in our worship services, we don't find ourselves praying to more than one God. That's what I had assumed he had meant by "polytheistic."
@@LegBuilderthink of it this way. We believe in their existence but not in their worship since they have nothing to do with us. Only our Heavenly Father, who has a name but it is very sacred and I don’t know if I can say it in a UA-cam comments section, is “our” god. Ja, und endlos sind die Tugend,
Der Priestertum und Macht.

Oder sieh den großen Anfang
ehe Raum und Zeit da wär'n?
Oder auch das dunkle Ende
der Erschaffungen des Herrn?
Sieh! Der Heilig Geist erleuchtet
was der Mensch allein nicht kann.
Flüstert leise die Erkenntnis
in die Seele jedermann.
3 Stroffe
Ewig sind die Werke Gottes,
Leben, Welten ohne Zahl.
Die Verbesserung und Fortschritt
sind ein ewiger Rund für All'.
Denn die Seele hat kein Ende.
Die Familie endet nicht,
auch kein ende steht der Gnade
vor Gottes Angesicht.
Je coules des larmes à chaque fois ....
Anyone else catching the science in this old song?
Light speed and such

Kolob is a mind boggling concept. It describes gravitational space time curvature long before the theory was described by scientists.
All glory to the most high
It is just awesome
Come as you are, there’s eternity to perfect ourselves.
que hermosa cancion!!
It's little wonder the LDS produce such talented sci fi and fantasy writers, if this is the stuff they grow up on.
Didn't know that! Please send examples.
Natan Levine, Orson Scott Card and Brandon Sanderson are probably the most famous
Thanks. Meant to list those guys, but I completely forgot.

nothing about.
I miss singing this song.
The addition of the Orchestra to the choir isn't something I liked,I prefer the Organ with the choir.Thanks for posting this!
It's really the only truly authentic Mormon Hymn, because it includes so much doctrine that only Latter-day Saints teach.
How come Joe Smith never mentioned the planet Kolob?
@@BertGraef Its mentioned in the Book of Abraham
there is no such book in the bible.@@MichaelHodgkinson
@@BertGraefI mean he probably did at one point or another but we don’t have a transcript of every single word he said from the time he prayed in the sacred grove to his death some years later. Especially considering this stuff happened like 150 years ago lol
With contemplation
1. If you could hie to Kolob
In the twinkling of an eye,
And then continue onward
With that same speed to fly,
Do you think that you could ever,
Through all eternity,
Find out the generation
Where Gods began to be?
2. Or see the grand beginning,
Where space did not extend?
Or view the last creation,
Where Gods and matter end?
Methinks the Spirit whispers,
“No man has found ‘pure space,’
Nor seen the outside curtains,
Where nothing has a place.”
3. The works of God continue,
And worlds and lives abound;
Improvement and progression
Have one eternal round.
There is no end to matter;
There is no end to space;
There is no end to spirit;
There is no end to race.
4. There is no end to virtue;
There is no end to might;
There is no end to wisdom;
There is no end to light.
There is no end to union;
There is no end to youth;
There is no end to priesthood;
There is no end to truth.
5. There is no end to glory;
There is no end to love;
There is no end to being;
There is no death above.
There is no end to glory;
There is no end to love;
There is no end to being;
There is no death above.

The book of Abraham is in the Pearl of Great Price that’s part of the Doctrine & Covenants (LDS modern scripture).
This sounds like a pretty rendition of Dives and Lazarus.
This song is cool!
So, the Star of the County Down?
The melody seems to be copied from an old Irish folk song.
The arrangement of the hymn tune is Kingsfold, which Ralph Vaughan-Williams adapted from the folk tune Dives and Lazarus. Not so much copied as the same folk tune.
@@SamHodkin23
An English traditional tune and not Irish in the slightest.
most American hymns are poems set to the popular folk songs of the time actually!
I really enjoy Hymns
Could someone please indicate how to have access to the score of this arrangement?
The arranger is Kenneth Plain. You can get a copy at Jackman Music: www.sheetmusicplus.com/title/if-you-could-hie-to-kolob-ssaattbb-sheet-music/17219538

This song clearly demonstrates the power Mormonism's founder has in and over the hearts and minds of his followers to deceive them.
There is only one true and living God, thee in one.
Mormon scriptures confirm this, D&C 20:19,28
2Nephi 31:21,
3Nephi 11:36
& BOM testimony of three witnesses.
And the true scriptures, the holy Bible,Deut 4:35,
Isaiah 44:6,8
John 10:30
Exodus 34:14
1John 5:7.
God's sworn omniscient testimony is that he knows of no God but himself,
( The Isaiah 44:6,8 quote).
Christians know there is only one true and living God,( 1Cor 8:4-6).
No one was deceived, they joined the restored gospel of Jesus Christ
This is about the never endingness of God

It is the Planet that LDS and Mormon sects believe God is from. God was once man, became a God through exaltation. Read the Pearl of Great Price.

Polytheistic
I'm not sure where you get that idea from, but as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, I can confirm that any polytheistic sentiment you may ascribe to the the church is completely false.
This song literally says Where gods and matter ends as well as where gods began to be. More importantly Joseph smith taught this as well as his son.
Quotes:
I will preach on the plurality of Gods.
If this is in accordance with the New Testament, Lo and Behold! we have three Gods anyhow, and they are plural: and who can contradict it?"
History of the Church 6:474, Joseph Smith, Jr.
I am going to inquire after God, for I want you all to know him and to be familiar with Him...God was once as we are now, an exalted man, and sits enthroned in yonder heavens...I am going to tell you how God came to be God. We have imagined and supposed that God was God from all eternity. I will refute that idea, and take away the veil, so that you may see...It is the first principal of the Gospel...and you have got to learn how to be gods yourselves, and to be kings and priests, the same as all gods before you, namely by going from one small degree to another..."
Times and Seasons, August 1, 1844.
He is the one who created us and the earth and probably this whole universe. I wouldn’t be shocked that Kolob is outside our universe in some ethereal realm
