i have the single cutaway with H75 cherry red w Bigsby and it just rips through,i played it through a 1956 Gretsch/Supro Roundup Amp and the guitar teacher had a stroke. i ended up selling the amp to John Mayers Guitar teacher WAY back, i never even heard of John Mayer at the time. i was in Boston and he was in NYC he drove to Hartford and i drove from Boston to meet up and sell it. long story
I had the dual cutaway Cherry red in 65. My first good guitar. I got divorced and ran out to a big box store in Dedham Mass. on RT1. "Lechmere Sales". Harmoney was selling them special order only, back then. I waited 3 months. I had ordered the sunburst and they sent the Cherry burst by mistake. I was pissed until I opened the case and looed at that guitar. I fell in love. Played it until some time in the early 90s. I wish I had it today. I payed around $200.00 back then. I had bought a Fender Preston reverb amp in "Boston Music Store".. I never could duplicate the sound of that duo. I'm 88 now and Arthritis in my fingers and wrists, prevents me from playing. Many friends told me my Harmoney played better than the 335. I never played a 335 so their word was all I had to go by.
Close to Auerbach's Rig back in the day! Probably a combo he's used in the studio as well! He used the Ampeg Amps a lot in studio! Anyway- this is my dream guitar!
The first guitar I learned on was a Harmony archtop that I bought in 1964. Then in 1966 when I showed my father that I could play, he bought me an H-78 with the Bigsby. I have also owned guitars like a Gibson SG standard, Epiphone Sheraton, Fender Tele and Strat, and I have to say that the Harmony became my favorite, because those DeArmond PU's give it a mojo that not even Fender or Gibson has.
Dear ECG, you guy are knocking it out with how you make these videos, showing the light going over the guitar seeing the wood from multiple angles. Really have enjoyed subscribing to this channel. Cant wait to take a trip out west, and hopefully find something to buy out there.
Hi. Good video. Well worth watching because I may be buying one of these in a few days time, same colour, triple pups. If I do it will go with my 1960's Harmony ukulele that I already have !
I have a 1965 H-75 that I bought from my father-in-law shortly before he passed away. His mother bought it new in Kentucky and played music on the front porch of his family home. He planned to pass it along to a grandson, but he said the kid didn't deserve it. He knew I would care for it and play it, so it is now in my care here just outside Seattle. It is all original with minor signs of wear, the edges of the sunburst are between tobacco and honey. And it rests in it's original case. It plays well, but the bridge with the original floating non-adjustable bridge makes intonation tricky. Any suggestions on alternatives are appreciated.
This was my dream guitar back 1969 when I first started playing. And I'd love to have one now

Those are some of the best sounding pickups in existence. So much tone.
you sure its not covering a hole or crack?
Prob is, lazy on ecg for not checking
JJ CALE loved his.
Wonder how the airline h77 compares to these. Cheap option
Looks all original, but this is not a 1965 model, as evidenced by the f-hole binding, this first appeared in the 1970 catalog.
This guitar with those pıck ups and that amp? Hmmm pls let me know when you are around İstanbul :))))
You didn,t spend anytime on this guitar!
Wow, did you get someone to pay $1500 for that?
shit i wouldnt even pay half that tag for it & i love my old Rockets.
Just sold mine £ 2800. They go nuts for them in England.
@@terrygribb9185 wow, I've just inherited a red one. h77 i believe. I'm in UK.
