Get to Know San Diego Entrepreneurs with Storyteller Evita Robinson

Watch as Evita Robinson, storyteller and founder of the Nomadness Travel Tribe explores ‪@sandiego‬ through the lens of tourism and small-business owners.
First, she interviews Julie Coker, president and CEO of the San Diego Tourism Authority, who shares her experience as a Black leader in the tourism industry and the challenges San Diego has faced coming out of the pandemic.
Coker discusses the tourism accelerator program her team created, an initiative that helps businesses operated by women, veterans, people of color, people with disabilities, and members of the LGBTQIA+ community with funding and resources to keep their businesses surviving and thriving.
Next up, Robinson visits the dessert shop Hey Sugar to chat with founder Chan Buie. Buie shares how her business has evolved over the years along with the opportunities the tourism accelerator program provided for her.
On the last stop of her San Diego journey, Robinson meets with Cassandra Schaeg, the founder of SIP, a wine and beer tasting room that specializes in promoting brands created by women and people of color. They discuss Schaeg's evolution as an entrepreneur and her side gig as host of the wine travel TV show, “Fresh Glass.”
