3:34 - quick suggestion, you can get chargers nowadays with multiple ports on them, so I got a 65w charger with two USB-C ports and one USB-A port (It's the Anker 735 specifically). It will give a max output of 65w if you have one thing plugged in (i.e plug in the MacBook only) or it will split the output between each port if you start plugging in more things (Phone, earphones, Apple Watch etc.) Don't need to bring my big bulky MacBook charger with me, and generally saves a lot of space, and only requires one power outlet. I still bring a couple normal chargers so I can put them in different places too.
I hope Aerocast is giving you residuals! Lol I’m sold. I was trying to decide between Aerocast and LW but I’ve decided to go with this after seeing how much you can stuff with this bag. Great video and content 👍🏽
Loved your video! I have the Avee with Bose 700; it is really awesome; what is great about it is that you don't need to put in batteries like the old headsets to get the ANC. The only advantage that the A20 has over is that it is TSO approved. Before I purchased my Avee mic, I did ask them if any of their mics had the TSO approval, but sadly, non of them had. Keep up the excellent work! 😁
Definitely going to order these headphones and add on microphone - I am a medevac pilot and we have some pretty long days. I was looking for a bit more comfort than DCs but cant seem to get a handle on the A320s under water sound. Not sure if that’s just me but I’m really hoping this will be a game changer!! thank you!
I’m about to start flight school and am so glad I watched this, because of the “Avee” + Bose headset option. Other than what you already talked about in your vlog any advice on the matter? Saving about $600 is appealing, just not if I’m eventually going to have to replace it. It is an after market attachment after all
Thanks for the comment and congrats on starting flight school! Two comments I’ll make specifically about the Avee and QC35 combo: 1. I believe more people go with the UFLYMIC, which is similar to the Avee. Not sure if the differences between the two in terms of quality, but since making this video, I’ve gotten a lot of feedback that the majority of people use UFLYMIC. 2. The other feedback I’ve gotten is that the QC35’s may not be the best option for general aviation, as planes like Cessna 172’s are very loud. I’ve just been told that the Bose A20’s have much better noise cancelling than the QC35’s but I can’t confirm that either. May be worth looking into.
@@DanPKing16 Thank you so much for your detailed response, I really appreciate it. I will check them out for sure. The objective is to get to the legacy carriers, so the noisy aircraft will only be in the beginning, I hope. I already own a QC 35 for home use and have been blown away since day one with the comfort, quality and of course noise canceling feature, so I don’t need convincing on Bose, I was just shocked to learn that the aviators version goes for $1200. Thanks again and keep it up, I really enjoy your content👍🏼
Hi Dan, I was considering buying the Aerocoast bag however I read on Amazon that some folks had a really bad customer service experience when dealing with Aerocoast. Seems that that the cooler liner does not hold up and getting warranty repairs is next to impossible. What are your thoughts / experiences regarding that ? Thanks.
I have never had to deal with their customer service side of things, however, I will say, I use-and-abuse this thing and it has held up very well. I have noticed a small hole developing in one of the corner of the cooler liner, but beyond that, it's a very durable bag.
im terrible at packing light but your videos are helping me prioritize on space and function. I'm not a pilot but I'm confused as to why you're packing your own meals. Doesn't the airline provide your meals while you fly or are you packing food for when you're not flying?
Glad the videos are helping! Only certain airlines will give you crew meals. SkyWest did not when I made this video so I had to pack my own food for my trips.
Hey man, I keep them in their case and then strap them to my roller bag around the handle. If you pause the video at minute 1:00, you can see them sitting on top of the roller bag.
i felt very attacked when you said, "they pull out this massive mess of chords that are all tangled up" HAHAHA i will def try the daisy chain technique. thank you. :)
Sorry for the late response on this one. I've changed how I carry my headset multiple times. Currently, I just attach the Bose headset (which is in its bag) to my roller bag.
Gatta get an Anker wall brick. Ditch the bulky underpowered apple charger bricks. My Anker brick has USB C and USB A and can charge every device at full power AND saves space and clutter.

Great video! Looking to make the leap from military to commercial aviation and trying to determine which cooler to purchase. Pretty sure I'm sold! Are you working on your carry-on video now?
I do paper log at home, but I've found that if I take a little extra time while in the hotel to log each day, the information is fresh, and it's less work down the road.
@@DanPKing16 I keep one in ForeFlight and on paper at home. I like the ForeFlight log because I can take pictures of the planes I fly and anything that I think should garner attention. After flying for a few decades you will want to see them later.
I’ll show you how that works in the next video on my roller bag, but I just carry it in the A20 case and then loop the case around the handle of my roller bag.
Why are you even carrying your logbook? It's unnecessary. Just keep track of the stuff in a notes app on your phone, and put it on paper when you get home. That way you know your logbooks always safe, and it's less weight for you to be hauling around.
Doesnt your laptop get crushed between the cooler and your Roller bag when on the Jhook? Seems like a horrible design to me. Why would you subject your $3000 laptop to this abuse? Have you seen this being an issue?
Man I wish I had a $3000 laptop! No it works just fine. I haven't experienced any issues. There is enough padding/insulation to protect it. Plus, keeping it on the J hook actually allows it to simply rest and not strain against the bag.
Fun video. I’m not a pilot, so this was fun to watch. I recommend you bring sunscreen in your cockpit bag! 💼 for all exposed skin while you fly! ☀️
I didn’t mention that but I bring Blue Lizard Sunscreen with me. It’s good stuff and I don’t want skin cancer.
Great video! I'm just starting out in the 121 world and there are some great tips in here. Thanks for sharing!
Man serious pro tip on the Bose headset!

That's a great call! Just took a look at that Anker 735 and may purchase that to make life a little bit easier. Thanks for the tip!

You need to do a quick vid on the daisy chain technique for the cords. Mine are always a huge mess!

Only problem getting the QC35's and an AVEE or UFly mic is they aren't TSO'd. Yet to meet someone who cares but better safe than sorry!

Are there any weight restrictions on those when you're flying? Do they not care because you're air crew?
Love the pilot content keep it up
