I had mine for eight months and now it’s just now starting to try and burst, but all that build up is so painful. It’s literally just oozing out slowly and bleeding. Hopefully it will be gone soon. This has been such a hard journey for me. People are so mean and harsh about it.

It ended up swelling up so bad it burst. So now I’m using hot compresses and an antibiotic ointment until I have surgery. It left a little bit of scar tissue behind, and a small lump. It’s not extremely noticeable but it’s still here.

I think I'm getting one. I've been getting styes frequently but now I got a very small bump that's tender way up on the eye lid under the skin. It's not on the eyelash line like the styes! I hope I don't have to go to a doctor about it. I have no insurance! Did yours go away after it drained

Ive tried many home remedies, some work and some just makes things worst, so Ive listed the below as my to do list for those eager to try. Hopefully it will work for you like it did for me.
First line of defence, use a hot rice bag compression a few times a day ( 15 mins each time 4 times a day ) use a clean sock or towel, add a small handfull of uncooked rice into the sock and tie it up with a rubberband. Heat in the microwave for a min and with a gentle massaging movement, push the chalazion softly towards the eyelid with the rice sock, be carefull of the heat! it should be warm and not scalding. The cyst should liquify and drain out from the openings at the eyelid slowly. Wash your eyes with baby shampoo afterwards ( mix baby shampoo and boiled water in a spray bottle ) and towel dry. Remember to keep everything extra clean during this time. Dabbing some unrefined castor oil to the chalazion and eyelid with a q-tip can be helpfull after this. i also recommend not using the popular wet compress as i believe sometimes bacteria can be transfered more easily to the eye this way from the water. Do this everyday untill you see a diffrence. l usually see obvious results in about 3-4 days.
if this doesnt work and you see it getting bigger redder and sore, quickly get oral antibiotics ( see an optomologist ) as it will be more effective in stopping the inflammation from getting worse and is easier to heal even if you decide to get surgery in the end.
if youre still hesitant, you can try using Tobradex antibiotic ointment and eyedrops immediately on your own before seeing the doctor.
preventing chalazia from happening again you need to constantly keep your eyes clean frm dirt, dust or any organic matter.
washing your eyes well every morning and night.
avoiding too much red meat especially beef, lamb, hog or pork fat.
keeping your eyes moist with natural tear drops everytime your eyes feel dry.
consuming omega 3 oil, either by capsules or by eating more fish.
using a heated eye mask is a usefull tool to help with recovery.
change your pillowcase and bedsheets often, and always keep your sleeping area clean.
Drink plenty of water and most importantly stay away from sugary stuff!!

Hot Compresses and massage your eye religiously!! I had a chalazion for about 4 months. At first i didn't do anything as I figured it would just go away eventually...but it didn't. It wasn't a gigantic bump but it was noticeable. After 3 months I went to a doctor to get it checked. The doc prescribed an antibiotic that i had to take twice a day for two weeks along with using a hot compress (rice in a sock and then heated) a few times a day for 10-15 min. After two weeks, I didn't really see a difference. I continued to use a hot compress and massaging (downward motion) my eyelid. At one point a little later my bump started to hurt a little. I also noticed that the bump had started to move down towards my eyelash more. I figure that this was a good sign. Two weeks later, my bump has shrunk down considerably. I had one for a total of 4 months and started late with treatment and it still went down so don't lose out hope yet!

The eye is very different from most other body parts, so the field of Ophthalmology revolves exclusively around it. The great thing about Optho is that a vast majority of procedures involve minimal or no sedation. With cataracts, anesthesia typically involves a few eye drops and maybe a mild sedative. It's a similar with Chalazions. Now some larger surgeries like Strabmismus will involve general anesthesia.

My first case started on May last year (2022) , but with hot compress and ointment it was healed.
My 2nd case is between August - October (2022) and before it was swollen again it was healed with hot compress and ointment.
My 3rd case was on 24 December (2022) but this time hot compress and ointment can't really heal, so by the time we think it can be sucked out (when the yellowy thing forms) we consult a doctor, I had to undergo a minor surgery, the process was really painfull - idk exactly what the articles he used but ik he used a very little scissor to plucked the skin of my eye to sucked the evil out, 4 times in total to completely sucked it out. And after that, he prescribed me 3 meds in total, 2 edible and 1 ointment. I eat and apply everyday for about a week. It took about 5 days after the surgery to completely heal.
And now for the fourth case on May 17th 2023 (exactly a year away from my first case) I took an appointment to visit a doctor tomorrow. Cause this time like the last time a hot compress no longer helps me, but this is apart of my fault somehow because I didn't start the hot compress the day I started to feel tickle on my eye, I only start the hot compress on the third day from the day I started to feel a tickle on my eye. Right now it becomes big enough and the yellow thing started to form for me to go to the doctor.
So last night, i put a hot cloth on my eyes, today i woke up and the yellow thing come out/visibly bloated out itself, so i cleaned around the area with hot compress side by side and it comes off completely I'm so happy, It wasn't painful, I think it's because it came off naturally. But, the swollen is still there, as there are still blood that stuck with it. So I'm still gonna go to the doctor even though I can clean these by myself, it still need medical assistance.
When I visited a doctor, he said it is because the power on my glasses no longer matched my eyes (accurate because I haven't checked my eyes for a year and several months) and because of my screen time and told me to reduce my screen time.
I really wish this thing to completely heal and never come back. What if this is for the rest of my life? What if this thing caused another eyes problem?
I'm leaving this cmt as a tracker. And for anyone with this painful thing.

I think I might have this, but I'm not sure. My bottom left eyelid is swollen. Whenever I blink, it hurts slightly, and I can feel the slight protrusion all the time. But it's barely visible. No redness. You can only see it if you compare it with my other eye very closely. I've had it for three days- it didn't grow bigger but it didn't grow smaller either. I started using hot compresses as of this morning, and the pain has significantly lowered. Hopefully it goes away.

Try massaging a tiny tiny bit of good quality cold pressed castor oil on the affected area and lash line. It'll be gone within less than a week's time. I've heard apple cider vinegar works too but castor oil doesn't sting/agitate the eye.

@se7en yes he did but it still hurt like a mf. and for the people who are barely suffering this after doing so much research I been cleaning my eyes with warm water before you wake up and before bed with a warm towels to open your eye pores. Doing this will have your eye lashes and eyelids clean from blepharitis. Also changing pillow cases often where we lay our faces when we sleep. All this little things helped. Good luck to everyone!

Hi friends, nutritionist here: **READ BELOW IF YOU WANT YOUR CHALAZION GONE**.
(My experience with an upper yet underneath the lid chalazian that lasted for weeks).
The excessive heat I put on my eye seemed to make it worse! Below is what I did DAILY for.. 2 weeks and it's 99% cleared - and mine was VERY big - I also have my wedding reception in a few days, so yeah you could say I was freaking out haha.
    DAILY STEPS**:
    - morning and night shower with WARM water running on your eyelid - use your pointer and middle finger to rub on the chalazian - depending on if on the top/bottom - rub towards the eyelid, do this for at least 10 mins. During these showers, I also used ACURE BABY SHAMPOO (non-toxic, extremely clean, hypoallergenic) - placed a dab on my palms and cleaned my eyes gently with my palms only in a circular motion
    - after this, I came out of the shower, using ALWAYS clean eye pads/cloths to dry my eyes (also switch cloths/pillow cases every 2 days. I would then apply Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar (w/ the mother) using a Q-tip gently rubbing it on top of my lid with the chalazian - only topically. Don't go excessive and do NOT get it in your eye.
    - throughout the day I would use organic cotton pads and just give my eyes/lids a wipe with water and then use organic coconut oil to massage for 10min minimum 1-2x/day (the same technique as described in the shower) - coconut oil is also anti-bacterial.
    - a couple times a day I'd use Similasan Dry-Eye Relief homeopathic sterile eye drops, especially after doing any of the techniques above
    - lastly, I spoke to a homeopathic doctor and she recommended me to take the homeopathic named "Belladonna 200 ch" by Boiron - 6 pellets a day split up and under the tongue. (this is NOT medical advice, please speak with your own practitioner and do your research!) Homeopathics, while generally safe, can have some contraindications and do contain sucrose and lactose I believe. - one of the benefits of Belladonna is for eye conditions/inflammation.
    - in functional medicine, there's a belief that eye conditions /can/ be linked to anger. So I also worked through some anger and stress.. interestingly enough - I had an angry + stressful couple of days before my chalazian showed up! If you're overly stressed, check into this!
Ps. NO eye makeup at all or face creams/oils for a while. Ladies, change your makeup after this too! If you have any other questions, reply to this! I know how emotionally exhausting this is so I hope this helps you guys

I don't know how they do it either. Could not handle that for a week without doing something about it, the eyes are too important to me. So i immediately went to an eye doctor, got my vision and eye pressure measured at the same time (everything still perfect). Then they gave me some eye drops and cream (Maxitrol) and instructed me on doing the warm compress and eyelid massage a few times every day.
