When the good will of window cleaning customers starts to affect your bottom line, you might have to get tough or risk loing out.

Like I mentioned in our chat Chris I’m on setting up ‘again’ from scratch. The first time around, a lot of years ago now, I didn’t take it all that seriously and I was a ‘busy fool’ as you once put it. Massively underpriced and overworked. I really think you’re bang on with this. Iv added a t&c to my website design, i’m gonna laminate a copy for when im knocking doors, and a scripted response ready for any enquiry through a message. I think rather than looking bad, customers will actually like the transparency, until it works against them like in this case😂. Same goes for payment. If it’s not gocardless… you aren’t my customer, move on. That’s the difference for me this time around, I’d bend over backwards for people in the past. But now I’ll just say no if it’s not a good fit for how I work.
100% agree, if you've gone there to complete a job and it's their fault it can't be done then I'd invoice the full amount. Or in this case I'd go back and charge them again the full amount to go back to complete.
One visit, one invoice...no half jobs, no half measures. You either play the game or get someone else..
I can tell you some stories about cleaning here in Spain, all by appointment here, get cheesed off with clients, who look at a weather app and cancel the night before, or they forget your coming etc, and these jobs are usually big jobs . 2 yellow cards n they're out

If she says well you do nextdoors it's not like your going out your way I would of said you should of put us in your calendar or on your phone so you know that we are coming to you on a specific day we did try to phone you and knock on your door but no answer.
The way I see it, is if she's not sure when we're due.....ask. like I said I've hairy balls, not crystal ones haha

Respectfully I have incurred cost in gaining this knowledge, both monetarily and in wasted time and grief.
Nothing personal, I'm sure you can understand that I won't hand a copy of our T&C's out for free.
Have a look at some successful companies locally to you and they’ll include a t&c section. You don’t have to plagiarise it but you’ll get a jist of where to start and you’ll probably find some good ideas you hadn’t thought of.
I use to charge less if I couldn't complete the job but I stopped. I charge full price and use your line I can't unburn my fuel and get time back. I charge full price. Do you have a template for your T&C and give it to every customer?
