Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk), did this in 1998. Roy Rogers was team member of the Label "Roulé" for the U.S. sales rep, and made the Pantones disks for this market, including this track.
@@Xarabass 20 years ago, i often went to a music shop in Rivoli street in Paris founded by Gildas Loaec. Gildas worked with Thomas Bangalter in 1998 on his solo performance. I remembered this song as they were tuning it for the local radios (FG).
@@h4st3didk7 So what's the connection to Vegas recordings? Does this mean Thomas Bangalter also produced the other single with "Falling in Love" and "My Supa Love"? I understand Gildas is the other guy behind Roule and that he had this influential music shop. Can you clarify what you mean by "they were tuning it for the local radios"? Sorry for question overload, just trying to get to the bottom of these amazing tracks :)
@@TheBranchan I'm sorry, I can't tell about the connections & the track history you gave : I was several times on the shop Gildas shop in Rivoli's street in Paris, and i heard "Happy go Lucky", so ive just remembered this explanation (probably arround 1997 or 1998).
as far as i was aware it was on a best of roule mix but now that you question it im not sure, i got a discog a few years back and cant find the link any more, it will require further ivestigation wicked track all the same with a bangalter sound so who knows?
If you listen to other Roy Rogers tracks as well as this one he uses a lot of the same drums as on homework(pitched and eq'd differently) as well as the obvious filter - and while a lot of people use these similar filters now, There really wasnt that many people using that filter around that time! (this is sort of thomas trying not to sound like thomas)
Actually, back then 1996-2001, allmost every guy that was making house music in paris france was using these types of filters. Mainly akai optional'rack filters for'mpcs, or sherman filterbank. Alan braxe would be a great example. But they were all doing this. I was buying a lot of house music at that time. There was a load of records using these technics. This was the sound that madépopular the "french touch". A little later it expends in all the france with act like phunky data (grenoble) or labels like riviera (aix en provence). Tbh, they didn't invented nothing, ian pooley, dj sneak and others were filtering things like this way earlier than the frenchies.
Actually i'm pretty sure it is Thomas (i could be wrong but i dont think so) (Roy Rogers was his house music pseudonym in the early 90's i believe - acording to Mixmag and the like)

Me too😅
Lay all your love on me. That's it, recognized it but was driving me crazy trying to remember which song it was
Reminds me of Indo Club Silver
Can see that yeah
Same
LOOK THE AIR IN DA SOUND! c'est parfait mon ami
I hear it has that similar rhythm to ABBA's "Lay All Your Love On Me."
Maybe Thomas Bangalter sampled a part of it. 🤔
@@kosmas173 it's Roy Rogers, not Thomas Bangalter from Daft Punk
ABBA : Lay All Your Love on Me
This is really a good rythm!!!
nice grooves. perfect.
Listen at 00:42, this is the same sound that the sound used in Colossus by Thomas Bangalter at 05:39.
So, it may be his song.

Dammm this song is incredible
#thomasbangalter ☺ #daftpunk

Yes, I know. But Thomas Bangalter use this effect particulary.
Every old minecraft youtubers intro sounded like this

It's Thomas Roy Rodgers made roule and released them
Under his name but Thomas made this is 1998

The title of this video should be Roy Rogers- Happy Go Lucky
Why?
@@Nathan-jm2ux Because that's actually who made this song.

It's a sample from ABBA - Lay all your love on me. However I like this song much better :P
This ain't by Thomas but still a bangin song
Yes it is
@@ltddishouns2651 No it wasn't. The real artist is Roy Rogers, and it was on his EP "Pantone 389 C" which was released in 2001.
@@VapeTheWaves didn't this song come out in 1998 first
@@drag.ul.a Not to my knowledge
This song was published with Thomas Bangalter’s label aka Roule however he did not make the song

Yep, it could have been from Thomas Bangalter but it is not, it is definitely from Roy Rogers.
I'm confused if it's Roy Rogers or T.B.
But its definitley ABBA sample or 'cover' :)
Daddy cool anyone?
ABBA's sample?
Why does this remind me of Sak Noel - Loca People?!
So how was this song mistake from being Roy Roger's to being Bangalter's?
E.A. Galvez a lot of songs get miscredited to him or Daft Punk
made in France les gars 🇨🇵🇨🇵
sounds like ABBA
is that an ABBA sample?
yea this is R. Rogers not Tom B.
Just so you know, "him" was one of the founders of Daft Punk and Stardust. So, you go back to myspace.
:D
Is it just me, or does the very beginning sound a bit like ABBA's 'Does Your Mother Know?'
its seems like lay all you love on me
@Daftendirektour haha no not at all to an american maybe but no....he popularized it maybe in america cause hes 1/2 daft
A sample straight from an ABBA song? Am I right?
