  • The venerable DORBA trail at Cedar Hill State Park consists of 3 mile, 8 mile, and 12 mile loops. Although, none of them are remotely close to their namesake when it comes to mileage, it's a great ride. CHSP is somehow entirely uphill, but still a good ride. Some 'unofficial' trail arrangements exist, include a 5.5 mile and a 9 mile (8.2 miles).

Good job keeping your momentum up. I rode these trails a lot in the mid 2000s and just went back a couple weeks ago and the climbs kicked my butt! Out of shape and the mix of climbing, rutted out roots, and the heat index it ended up taking me twice as long as you did. Without momentum any trail can be brutal though.

Thanks Brent! No kidding, riding these hot summer days is rough. The wet spring and crazy schedules have made it hard to get fitness back. But keep riding!

Nice ride, going with my son tomorrow ( July 4th). Question, is that an e-bike you’re riding?

I wish it was! But no, this is a Santa Cruz Bronson. It’s just me powering the thing!
Have so much fun out there, be careful not to overheat on some of the longer climbs. This summer is brutal 🥵

@@danielrides Went this afternoon, sort of a mistake because it was so hot. 🥵 But we knocked out the 12 mile loop and the trail was great shape.

@@tabcobrayeah that afternoon heat is a bear. We usually go in the morning, but then you get higher humidity. That 12 mile is tight and rooty…and not 12 miles. I usually do the unofficial 9 mile, and then an extra lap of the 3 mile. It’s a good trail as long as you enjoy climbing.
