लखोरी दाल जिसे हम खेसारी की दाल बोलते हैं वो अपंगता पैदा करती है. मेडिकल रिसर्च में पाया गया था कि खेसारी दाल से पैरों में अपंगता आ जाती है। व्यक्ति न्यूरोलॉजिकल डिसऑर्डर लैथरिज्म से ग्रसित हो जाता है। सरकार ने इसके बुरे प्रभाव देखने के बाद ही किसानों से इसकी खेती करने को मना किया था। इसका वनस्पति शास्त्र का नाम लेथाइरस सेटाइवस एवं अंग्रेजी का नाम ग्रास पी है. यहाँ पर ये नहीं मिलती और मुख्य रूप से इसका प्रयोग दाल, अरहर दाल, चना और बेसन के साथ मिलावट के रूप में किया जाता है. बचपन में इस दाल के भजिये बहुत खाये हैं.
