    Fenrir brutalize is bugged, it is cc immune but not intended. They said this on a note in the smite 2 patch notes. One reason he was stomping so hard in this alpha

    One thing that I noticed from only playing tanks in support during the alpha was that I felt squishy like no matter what I was building or what the enemy team was building. I did an absurd amount of damage as Ymir and Athena with full tank stuff, a lot of the intricate numbers/stats/balancing things will certainly get ironed out as time goes on though

    The damage text when you hit something can be improved by showing orange numbers when physical damage and purple when magical. The current text with white basic attacks and orange skills with the damage-type symbol alongside it feels a bit painful to watch.

    This is a re-post of my long comment from your Smite 2 honest thoughts video
    I'm a PS5 player who had some major pain points in the alpha that made me not want to play more of it.
    The first and most major issue was the Item Shop. Obviously they only had time to implement the single version of the Item Shop from PC to console but that experience was horrible, all the different icons in this tiny area only separated in alphabetical order was terrible and the filter was the worst since you need to press the D-Pad down 10+ times to select a filter, then if you wanted a different item filter you need to deselect that filter again. Also building the item up from the Tier 1s was easy cause it like the Smite 1 item tree, but then finding the Tier 3 at the end was awful because it was even smaller item icons stuffed in the top corner that I can barely see without selecting and reading every option.
    Second issue is the HUD. Every single HUD element is WAY too small. The map was so small and too high up it made it hard to learn the jungle. The items in the bottom left were small and the active ability button combo is microscopic. The abilities seemed a bit too squished but not bad at all. The heath and mana bar being small made it not obvious when my health or mana was low, also there was no option to show your health and mana bar above your own head which I heavily rely on in Smite 1 that I hope will be added. And while the VGS system in Smite 1 console is already terrible, the Smite 2 VGS is even worse, though the VGS HUD looks very work in progress.
    Lastly a bit more gameplay focused. There are some issues with aiming abilities after casting, specifically line target abilities would come out when you pressed it rather than when the character fires it. so there was no re-aiming during the startup frames.
    Tanks had it rough in the alpha, feel free to say skill issue, but the tank items sucked, not only were the only useful tank items active items, but the stats on near everything was awful, I had a game where I had 1 offense item, 2 hybrid defence items, 1 magical defence item, and 2 physical defence items and I couldnt tank the Gold Fury, Fire Giant, or Phoenix's without getting shredded by them. I could only take 4-5 phoenix shots before I was at 1/3rd HP. I dont know if the physical and magical defence was bugged of if objectives are way overtuned but I did not feel tanky, and now with the slot of a Flat Pen item now being a %Pen item the tanks never feel tanky and the stats are never rewarding.
    Another huge problem is having no consumable slots, I dont know why they got rid if these but it makes potions feel like an afterthought with them being apart of the item slots, also there will be no more cool consumables like the Pyromancer Bomb, chalices, special wards and Baron's Brew. We need the item slots back.
    Obviously this is an alpha, and everything here will probably be fixed up and fine-tuned but these issues made it hard to play on console.

    My thoughts on the bushes. Every moba had stealth bushes. They are just boring bushes. Cant smite be different and make stealth smoke, stealth light, stealth goo, stealth slime, stealth shadow, stealth building, stealth hole, stealth tree, stealth pile of leaves, stealth pumpkins, stealth clouds, or even stealth bushes

    Anubis 2 scaling on strength gives him options in the future when they add more items, undoubtedly there will be an (on physical ability hit) etc

    I'm still not sold on the lower Protection numbers. I only played one game, and even with 3 Phys Prot items, I die instantly to full Strength loki with no Pen.
    I'd also love to see snowball items rather than mechanics. More useful items with infinite stacking, or items that give gold once after some criteria is met

    I feel like having 2 defensive and 2 offensive relics instead of force beads would be a good mid point. Beads, aegis, blink, horrific would be a good mix I think. Other relics can be put on items fairly well I think

    Around 8:35, you do start with base strength. Every god has, iirc, the same base strength as of rn.

      Yep! The fist is STR, and you need base STR to do basic attack damage, which is why you start with some. But you can build bloodforge blade on certain gods and have over 60 STR early game, making you burst squishies really hard, especially for INT builds. It's why starting a STR item first, even if only a single item, works so well. People complain of a lack of lifesteal items, but you only need book and scythe on anubis to heal 30 HP per tick late game. Problem is folks are still thinking of traditional Smite where mage only builds INT. Even if none of the abilities scale with STR, the passive for one item is worth it and you'll still benefit from auto damage to finish off foes.

      @@GuiriTV you don't need scythe at all though they changed the way anubis passive works its just innate life steal it doesn't increase it anymore.

      @@timothyfloyd3269 It still stacks with item life steal. Anubis passive in Smite 2 is basically Bancrofts with % scaling increase to both protection types and lifesteal. So you dont get boosted lifesteal, but you get more the lower HP you get. You get book for INT + lifesteal to stack with that at low HP for survivability. Then you get Sycthe for additional lifesteal, and the synergy that when melting people below %50 HP, you get even MORE lifesteal. I played two games where I did book only, and book + scythe, and I noticed the scythe combo giving considerably more lifesteal because of the passive AND the additional 20% lifesteal the item gives.

      @@GuiriTV issue with that is losing damage. Anubis chanels his 1 and ult your not autoing in between sounds good on zeus though.
      Also most people didnt know how to build.
      I always went divine ruin first cause mp5. The antihealing. So you go scythe you losing trade. Then bloodbound, chronos pendant, gem of focus. Cooldown didnt cap so thats 45. Gem of isolation crazy good cause it was a beads burner late game. Then soul devouer i literaly never lost a 1v1 as a mage against anyone. On zeus or anubis this build.

      i always start divine ruin cause mp5 is so good and antiheal into book then 2 cooldown items I've never lost a 1v1 as mage. and scythe will be useless with 1 item the first one i buy.

    I think gods scaling with both str and int is actually a way to balance them if they're kit is very strong. It forces you to choose which you'd prefer to build and focus on or try to split stats and just do okay with the whole kit.

    I wasn't able to play the alpha unfortunately. I did notice in the gameplay I have seen that the unique death animations for gods isn't there yet. I know its a very little thing compared to other issues people have pointed out and I'm very sure it'll come later on cause it is only the first alpha. I just enjoyed seeing Anubis being pulled away in death or Ymir crumbling.

    The idea of abilities like Anubis 2, and Athena 1 scaling with the Strength over Intellect is so building a Strength item for the passive or defense hybrid item has some value. A full damage Athena should include a Hydra's since its a combo item with her passive. However since its just a Strength item it would not affect her abilities if the dash wasn't strength based. Anubis wrap is kind of weird but maybe its the same way where if a life steal item it super good on Anubis that is Strength based its not a useless stat for his kit if you bought for the passive.

    Console UI was fine. Store was a little clunky to navigate at times but give me a section to add preferred items for each god and I’ll be happy. Using actives and pots was strange but not impossible.

    I felt like the UI for the console was great, like as long as you can read UI prompts you can figure out how to navigate the item store. For a Xbox controller it was Y to select a item filter, right stick to look at the items in your inventory, while highlighting a lower tier item you could press Y to see what it builds into. It took me like 3 matches to figure out how the item store worked meanwhile it took me like 5 to realize I didn’t have to hold down the interact button 😅 (which is right stick, so it was kinda awkward before I realized that)
    To give a console perspective I have a Xbox series S and I had maybe 1 time where it felt laggy or de-synced but 1) that is kinda to be expected with a alpha version of the game and 2) it did not feel like it was my end I can near enough promise you everyone on the server, or at least match, felt that for the 3 seconds it was going on.

    as for i seen a lot of people talked about like Athena and gods with mixed abilities. brawler builds were op in smite 2 alpha. i played around in practice alot with items. and there was 1 that game str. and int. while giving auto attack procs. you combine this with the other auto attack procing items based on def. and there were pretty much only 3 defensive items with high prots. so take those and your last item is dealers choice. but anyways nothing outtraded this build. literally nothing unless it was 3 v 1.

    The red box around minions is annoying and abilities would disappear after using especially around gold fury and FG, also for example when I played kukulkan my 1 was always invisible

    beads having a scaling cooldown might be nice where the cooldown goes down with level/game time... so it isnt as bad early but still there late

    I did notice that fenrir brutalize has full cc immunity. There are clips of fenrir being immune to stuns/silences/knockups on youtube when he should only be knockup immune.
    There are a few interesting mechanics in the god kits that i can't tell if they are bugs or not. For example, loki's bleed attack from his vanish has a fatalis effect. Its not stated in his ability descriptions but its definitely there.

    I definitely think they should relax on the hybrid scaling now thinking on it. It’s cool when the whole kit is implemented, but just annoying when it’s only one ability. Unless they get some hybrid items in, but I think those would feel better on gods with a full hybrid kit anyways.

    Honestly feel like they have taken too much inspo from League. I feel we have lost some of the Smite uniqueness just because they want to appeal to a larger audience (which is good for game longevity). The store, bushes, building etc is just direct from league when we could have just kept the same build mechanic which was unique and honestly more simple (STR and INT with everyone building all even if they don’t need too is confusing the casual player, only being able to build what actually works for you is user friendly) could have just made a more straightforward shop. Also could have changed the bushes to something else like a fog. Bushes are just a literal copy… even naming it STR and INT? Physical and Magical were fine names even with the build changes?

      I'm not disagreeing with you at all, the problem with fog is the animation to make it fog the entire length of a match vs some grass that moves with a breeze hirez isn't good with animating smoke effects that well because for example loki has that 1 skin that makes black smoke, I physically cannot look at that smoke without having a seizure because it strobes 100% of the time. So if they can fix smoke to not murder my epilepsy then yea make the stealth fog like they did for 1 month with the lanterns

    My thoughts on the alpha were really mixed. I didnt hate it and honestly I was surprised by how polished it felt for what little I played. For whatever reason though I just played a couple hours then logged off. No urge to come back and play more at all. Very odd.

    I actually liked the "slower pace" of the Conquest map. (Coming from DOTA where every match is 50 minutes with no surrender... it was refreshing to have 40 minute matches that were fun with the ability to surrender if we wanted.) I liked how every decision felt like it had more weight (rotate, get camps, buffs, objectives, towers). I didn't like the lack of damage information (missing T and Y screen, no damage or recap on win/loss summary screen). I did not like the lack of social/community ability (chatting, clans, party without giving out my Steam ID, inability to). All of this I think they will be making better over the next few months; so overall I'm very positive about the game.

      A SMITE 1 ported God every 2 weeks and a new SMITE 2 God every 2 months is the current plan.

    Maybe I was just so happy to be playing g but I didn’t have issues with the item store on my Xbox SX. I was weird at first but I got used to it. Sure the filter system could be better but it was fine now since there is not many items

    Good thing about Smite 2 ;able to build every item is really good for experimenting and fun.Bad thing about Smite 2:It looks like they didnt implement UE5 graphics engine too well. Game map still looks plain,grasses still straight green floor and they increase to saturation so much game looks annoyingly bright.

    The cheapest founders doubles legacy AND it gives the god pass which is already 20 dollars its basically a 5 dollar alpha/beta pass for whenever they have them.
    Why would you keep buying potions when you have 5 items online? And power pots are auto use now too so theres no need tbh thats the only thing i had to say sumn on great vid overall and good points.

    I played the alpha and enjoy a ton. Most notable being the god changes and the build options were all fun. Neith being a strong stand out.
    I am still not a fan of the 1 relic system and even less so it only being beads for everyone. I don’t see why we can’t continue having that relic system in Smite 2 as I feel that is a major part of Smite’s core gameplay as its been there since the beginning.
    Also was not a fan of the leveling up jungle initially. It felt really hard to keep track of how to farm the jungle properly and the shifting buffs did not help.

    I cant say much for athena dash scaling but im all for anubis wrap scaling with str. It doesnt make sense that you should find damage in his wrap eitherway as that only serves as a utility tool. Giving it more damage that equals or is greater than its utility is weird and bad game design. not to mention it makes thematical sense as it is a physical wrap, not a magical plauge being spewed from your mouth.

      They expected it to be players who have played the game for a while to be playing the alpha, from what I could tell the alpha was just full of new players or incredibly bad players

      I have an answer, some people really did just play joust and arena for the past decade 😅 hell it took the announcement of the alpha to get my roommate to even play conquest

      @@DarkChibiWeebie most of the good players either did custom games or left after day 1 cause of low god pull. cause otherwise i wouldn't have won 10 games in a row. and only lost next 2 to babies who were too slow to pick role and sat in my lane.

    Not a conquest player in Smite 1, and only got 3 games in for the alpha. Timing of abilities seemed a bit different. Need more time to get a feel for it. Didn't pay too much attention to the items, as I went in with 0 knowledge ahead of time and it was overwhelming to try and figure it out in-game, so I just put in on auto-buy. I like the idea of Str and Int, though how hybrid characters will match power with characters that can focus on just 1 ability seems sketchy to me. I guess I just need to see it in practice. Graphics didn't blow me away. Not a fan of all that stealth grass. Stealth is one of my least favorite mechanics in Smite, so giving the capability to everyone annoys me. Awaiting the next open period for more games.

    I wasn't that surprised with all the new players. Mobas require a lot of "institutional knowledge" to truly get comfortable with, and getting in on day 0 gives you a better chance to, at worst, ride the learning curve with everybody else instead of getting your face wrecked for the first 200 hours

      Fr for Xbox I have to click and hold right stick and press RB or LB and it def would get me screwed mid fight, but if I start with the active its easier to not get messed up from the flow breakage

    I think the teleporters could feel better if your team had to claim a objective to make them usable.
    Like say kill bull giant and unlock teleporter for 10 min or somethif

    The damage out put in smite 2 right now feels inconsistent i felt i was doing more damage to full defense tanks then the enemy adc or mid.

    i think the new shop system is gonna be too confusing for new players (which is basically the entire reason for smite 2) and i think its gonna drive people off

    i think the stealth bushes are great and anyone that thinks they are bad id like to know why. smite is the only moba that dont have stealth grass and i think its a corner stone of moba gameplay. espically since the game gives you free wards if youre worried about a bush ward it. bush play can be fun even when i die to a bush gank im satisfied because i shouldve known better cause i wouldve done the same thing.

    Why are people upset about everyone having Beads?
    It felt like 90% of the time people just built beads in SMITE 1 anyway since most people just pick only four like 4 relics.
    I think having the other relics tied to items is way better idea, and as long as they keep the beads on a long cooldown, I don’t see the problem.
    I ain’t saying it can’t be fleshed out more but I really didn’t like how SMITE did the relic system.

    All characters in Smite 2 do start with strength, you cannot see the basic atk damage in the side stats atm. The devs said a few times that strength scaling ability's base damage needed to be scaled down because of it. Also you could see this by building INT items which have 20% auto scaling raising your basics without raising that strength stat on the side

    Hot take here: The fact that everybody can build every item and some abilities scale differently depending on the str or int is a gimmick and not a good gimmick. They should just merge them both into one stat and call it power. Right now, having two different stats for scaling is just confusing things for the sake of confusing things.

    I think it has potential but on xbox (console) smite 2 didn't feel great and using the store was slow and there so much to ward on the map I think they should give us 2 instead of 1

    People missing the point of hybrid scaling.. STR is for physical attacks and INT is magic. Athena dash is physical she launches herself into enemies and slams them so its STR meanwhile her other abilities use magic to do dmg she projects magic spears that taunt and summons magic minions for her 3. Neith her autos are arrows that hit people the rest of her kit uses her inate magic to use the weaves of life so they scale with INT. Anubis his 2(wrap) is a physical thing that hits and wraps around gods meanwhile everything else is death magic he summons. Yes it may be dumb but there is a reason for it

    as for rn the game seems promising. i had fun when i played, and didn’t really have any moments where i wasn’t having fun. my gripes with the game, is that a lot of that smite charm is gone. feels like they are trying a little too hard to be like league of legends or dota. a lot of features in smite 2 were quite literally jus pulled from other games instead of originating from what made smite a competitor. that’s my take. still had fun, n i have my hopes and doubts

    The fact that Fenrir was a bit overtuned just makes me feel like the next Alpha we need my main girl Artio, that cripple balances the game clearly and they should buff her and add her to smite 2 ASAP.
    Or i guess they could tune him down a bit, but druid girl!
    Edit: For MMR it would be a simple fix for the alpha, when the alpha opens give players the "How many hours do you have on smite 1", relies on player honestly but it would be a semi decent way of filtering completely noobies from nerds like us.

      Fenrir being strong was a bug his 3 only gives displacement immunity but in the alpha (hirez even said it themselves) that his 3 was giving full cc immunity when it shouldn't. There is 0 reason for them to fix it during a 72 hour alpha, so next one that bug should be fixed

    I’m not gonna lie. The way they did the alpha/founders pack kind of rubbed me the wrong way. Totally fine with them giving first access to founder pack purchasers. BUT don’t have everyone sign up for codes for the alpha and get people excited and then come out and say hey pay 30 dollars to play in the first alpha. And still virtually send out no codes to people who signed up. Just come out and say that to begin with because that’s what they had planned all along.

And I find it hard to believe that hi rez didn’t expect to sell a ton of founders packs. It’s a pretty solid value just for the in game perks and you got access to the alpha. I’m not dropping the game or anything because of it. I’m just saying I wish they would have led with “yeah first couple of alpha tests are gonna be for founders pack purchasers only.”

    I felt like smite 2 doesnt have the feel that smite one has and ik its a alpha and it will get there fen dif is cc immune i tried to stun fen from his 3 and it would work zues 1 would launch minions sometimes but the game felt a lil slow and every game was 50+ minutes and i want starter items back

      i think thats cause everyone was figuring things out. i played 1 match auto buy on hated it so i went to practice learned items made some builds and won 10 matches in a row and not 1 of those went over 50 min.
      im pretty sure most people just like to jump in matches and wait for UA-cam videos to tell them what to build. but not me i like figuring things out it allowed me to win when people were confused.

    As much as everyone is hating on the Beads change, I think it's absolutely way better that tanks have beads. They're harder to lock down, but that's fine. The balance point of the game should never include trump card abilities that your only choice is to just not ever go near, especially as a Frontline. A lot of CCs in smite 1 (fen ult, Ares ult, Artemis ult + 1, Da Ji ult) just feel like free removal of a tank from the front lines because some guardians (Khep, Artio, Terra, Atlas, ect.) just don't have CC immunity accessible to them in any way outside of Magi's and Absolution. Just because it's harder to kill a tank doesn't make it less frustrating to lose control of your character for 12 consecutive seconds just because Persephone and Cabrakan decided you need to stand still. Doubly so when we have tools in smite 2 that make ANY lock down of a support into death (50% pen + 6% max hp per auto across 2 items is a balance point that says late game tanks DIE).
    All I think needs adjusting is to move smite 2 beads have a 5 minute cooldown early scaling down to a 3 minute cd by level 20. Bump that shut off in a level 1 invade while keeping yours, and you've got a free team fight win until everyone's level 7.

    I like the micro/farming aspect if mobas too thats why i think smite 2 would benefit from lasthit gold only forcing supports onto an item and putting supports into a free but nerfable positition also really pacing out the laning phase. [As a support main]

    I played 3 games of the alpha and all 3 had people rage quitting. Literally like 2 hours of playing with leavers every game and I stopped. Like why the hell are people buying access to an alpha for a game theyre presumably excited for and then quitting halfway through a game like jesus christ lol

      cause most of these people didnt wanna go to practice mode and figure things out before jumping in a match. i did it my first with auto build on hated it went to practice found multiple broken builds and then went and won 10 matches in a row.
      everyone likes to wait till youtube videos tell them what to build but they don't wanna wait to play game.

      I rage quit during 2 matches total because I was forced against a full team of people whove played since smite 1 beta, while 3/4 of my teammates it was their first smite match ever in history and they'd refuse to surrender when my team has 2 kills to their 38.. other than that it def is whack the amount of DCs when the game would be an even match and no one getting rocked too hard until the DC happens.

      @@TastyMango225 i never once had a dc these people only had 2 people leave cause someone in match was playing dumb like no support so adc was 1v2 in lane all game.
      also chat was banned so your assuming how long they played. cause you can check smite guru doesn't matter how long someone played doesn't make them good. I've seen accounts with 500 hours have 70 percent win rates and people with 2k+ hours be in the 30-40 % range.
      what matters is whether you took time to read items and learn them before the match not during.

    Hey I haven’t watched this video yet but I feel like controller players are being left behind as it is now. Item shop is horrible to navigate and if you don’t have multiple attached paddles then you have to do so much more to activate actives and relics.

    Honestly, I can not form an opinion, nor do I understand if someone has one on smite 2. In its current state, alpha, to me it is just not playable. I understand it is a starting point, but simple mechanics of the game need to be addressed. People are discussing items, the map, the graphics, etc. To me none of that matters, until the simple mechanics get ironed out. I know they will, and I will feel more comfortable forming an opinion that could be advantageous at a later date. I just hope they take the time it needs and do not rush it out. In my opinion, the game is no where near release by August. I would expect 2025 would be a better target release.

      Not playable? Which part of the mechanics? It's honestly fairly polished considering it's an alpha. Like, I didn't run into any glitches, game breaking bugs, wasn't kicked from any games.

    Honestly it’s cool but at the end of the day it just felt as if it’s just gonna be a cash grab. Sure original smite has be out for a while but smite 2 shouldn’t have felt like it was half assed just for graphic IMO. Now I won’t say it was bad it just didn’t feel like they needed a whole new game just to change around or add some new things and reworks. The original I think will just be better to play for while until smite 2 is just better in general it’s a solid 5/10 so much in the game just felt off with cool graphics. It’s a while list of things that need to be addressed badly

      So unlike overwatch 1 and 2 differences smite 1 is Unreal engine 3, smite 2 is unreal engine 5 there is no physical way to bring that kind of change into smite 1 with just an update they are severely different the fact that the first whole year smite 2 is actually out its exclusively gonna be conquest and on release its gonna have about 50 gods instead of like 120 that the first has

      Also, the stun won't matter if the chain lightning to detonate or attack stim to detonate is meant to insta kill you(at least it opens him to similar, but smaller duration stun that as easy to land as Agni's, so there's support opportunities there with perhaps more teamwide stuns than Agni)

      It's significantly harder now to get a 3rd charge on gods now. Chain lightning doesnt bounce as much, and you have to get close to use the 2 or be good with autos. In Smite 1, a stun on 3rd charge would be awful since it's super easy to get that 3rd charge. I found it quite difficult to do in Smite 2, so high risk high reward.

    How about instead of universal beads it's just an item like everything else. I don't want the old relic system and I don't want free beads or flash. Just the god kit you choose and the items you build, if gods with CC are too op nerf the CC, they're already reworking gods as they port them over anyway. Free beads as a relic (yes even in Smite 1) or for everyone all the time is such a lazy crutch for bad game design with respect to CC bloat. Get rid of it.
