Civic has always been one of the greatest premium sedan ever on the Indian roads. The beautiful design language complimented by sheer performance remained as the highlight. It’s rare that you see Ravi bhai going all praises about a car with almost zero negatives. That itself says a lot..

Little did they praise about civics ride quality and comfort which was the primary aspect of the sedan... Anyways both the brands didnt do well thanks to our craze for namesake SUVs and our Indian roads
the thing is new civic fooled customers with such downpowered engines , octavia’s base 1.4 petrol was more powerful than 1.8 ivtec and even civics diesel , the power figures and engine type on civic were kinda 10-15. lakhs car type engines not 20-25 lakhs car engines
@@vardhan4594 the civic handles far way better due to its lighter body, the engine is a little let down by the fact that they were only offering car in a petrol automatic, if manual was offered then it would just be epic, revving the nuts out the engine which you can't do in a turbo charged engine. and the driving possession is just the best nothing can come anywhere close to it, agronomically its just a Honda obviously, it did not offer lots of Features but the fact that is a complete car otherwise made it a great choice. well turbo is the present by the way, hybrid is the future, and again if honda would have introduced the turbo model in the civic then there is no matching it

Indians can't afford expensive cars like you mentioned. Per capita income is too low so most people can only afford cheap cars not Civic, Camry or Santa Fe.

Reason road, and petrol price killing petrol sedan. If you look at petrol price in usa that is almost 60rs and per capita is 5 to 6time high. In short indians cannot afford this petrol price. Based on per capita it should be around 40rs max.

On the other hand, India produces only 15 pc of it's consumption, and imports 85 pc. Imports depend on the intl price of crude and the dollar rupee exchange rate, there is nothing the govt can do about it. I really cannot understand how petrol prices can be decided on per capita income. We spent Rs 7 lakh crore on crude imports last year, petrol consumption cannot be encouraged.
I was soo disappointed to see this car getting discontinued from Indian market in 2020 ... it was one of a design I loved to see on road & use to look back at it . This car should hv stayed . Hope Honda is listening , can they replace the new city design with this one 😜 I’ll buy it right away .
I had Honda City 16 years old and what a car it was. Currently own Honda crv and can vouch for Honda's reliability and engine performance. World class performance and unmatched reliability. They're best in their segment.

I have a 12 year old civic that I've thrashed over bad roads in the western ghats. As expected, a few things started rattling. But the engine, clutch, transmission, brakes, and suspension remain good. Cannot say that about the skoda/vw cars.
I am driving Corolla Altis V - CVT since 2010 with more than 2 lakhs KM and still car is in good condition, if you love sedan than go for any Japanese brand sedan. You will tired of driving japanese sedan for so much of time but car will not be tired in anyway.

For those saying Octavia is the reason why Civic didn't do well - Civic outsold the Octavia almost every single month. We have a few German cars in the family. They're great when they don't break down. The dry clutch DSG of the Octavia is a ticking time bomb.

This car has a ground clearance of 190mm not 165mm. Most SUVs have the same ground clearance. Plus space wise this is biggest, it's a proper C+ segment.
Civic is loved in Pakistan too. The drive and Overall feel of this car is next level. Honda Pakistan is bringing 11th generation in April locally manufactured.

@@RefinementandPower Turbo boost comes and goes within a narrow band. A good NA engine has power all the way to redline. Also, turbos are irritating to drive in bumper to bumper traffic. Nothing happens for a while even when you step on it...and then when it happens a bit late, it's time to brake because the guy upfront is on his brakes. :-). There's no replacement for displacement.
Indian roads should be good for lower ground clearance cars like sedan segment . MOHWT leader said USA roads coming by 2024 till then SUV cars or sedan cars with ground clearance upto 190 mm with practical experience of usage and ownership are hit here.

Bangalore where I am from has some of the worst roads. Sedans are a big waste in big cities. Parking is especially a big problem. One of the reason I got venue. Sedans are only good where roads are good or else it will be a big problem.
We need to understand the thing , why SUV's are trending these days. The Main reason of Increase in SUV sales in India is our nothing but Indian Roads... Litreally so much pot holes , even on good highways thier our some amout of pot holes... That's why Indian people our considering SUV's rather than Sedans.
I don't understand the argument "Roads are bad, that's why sedans are dying", but when sedans were popular, roads were not that great also. We still see a lot of hatchback going on the roads in budget segment. Two years ago i20 was one of the top selling cars, but now premium hatchbacks are being replaced by compact crossovers.

Honda cars division will soon be out of Indian market. Reason is, Honda never tries to kill the competition. Honda cars such as City, Civic, Jazz has amazing cabin space and smooth engine which can make it stand out from the competition but only if they can offer all the features which other cars provide in this segment. You can argue most people don't use those features but people don't know that while buying. So every feature matters while selling.

i have been using honda brio since 2012..and its almost 13 years and 1.6 lakh crore km done and not a single issue....even clutch is same......i drove in delhi city conidition maximum!!!! once who go honda doesnt go anywhere else!!! i am waiting for honda to lanch honda city hatch hrv..god knows why honda doesnt introduce new models!

Drove Civic 1.8V Automatic for 14.6 Years, had to sell because of new 15 years rule. Looking forward to buy the next generation My Family felt on ling trips as sitting on sofa in our drawing room. Its was very emotional when was sending away 3 months back 😔

Turbo is the future now. And Octavia tops Civic any given day in terms of speed, drive, handling, steering, etc

Honda has raised the ride height of the 10th-generation Civic for India by 20mm, so it has a ground clearance of 171mm
Civic is loved in Pakistan too. The drive and Overall feel of this car is next level. Honda Pakistan is bringing 11th generation in April locally manufactured.

Bangalore where I am from has some of the worst roads. Sedans are a big waste in big cities. Parking is especially a big problem. One of the reason I got venue. Sedans are only good where roads are good or else it will be a big problem.

The Main reason of Increase in SUV sales in India is our nothing but Indian Roads...
Litreally so much pot holes , even on good highways thier our some amout of pot holes...
That's why Indian people our considering SUV's rather than Sedans.
I don't understand the argument "Roads are bad, that's why sedans are dying", but when sedans were popular, roads were not that great also. We still see a lot of hatchback going on the roads in budget segment. Two years ago i20 was one of the top selling cars, but now premium hatchbacks are being replaced by compact crossovers.

New 4 and 6 lane roads are building in india in future the roads will be better.

Honda cars division will soon be out of Indian market. Reason is, Honda never tries to kill the competition. Honda cars such as City, Civic, Jazz has amazing cabin space and smooth engine which can make it stand out from the competition but only if they can offer all the features which other cars provide in this segment. You can argue most people don't use those features but people don't know that while buying. So every feature matters while selling.

i have been using honda brio since 2012..and its almost 13 years and 1.6 lakh crore km done and not a single issue....even clutch is same......i drove in delhi city conidition maximum!!!! once who go honda doesnt go anywhere else!!! i am waiting for honda to lanch honda city hatch hrv..god knows why honda doesnt introduce new models!

The biggest flaw in this car was They launched Petrol I vtec with only Automatic transmission and launched I dtec with only manual transmission,jo karna tha uska bilkul ulta kar diya.
