War is waged both on land and sea in this huge 3v3 battle fought for control of the coastal town! Alex the Rambler: / therambler146 Indypride: / milkandcookiestw
What an epic battle. Your battle plans worked beautifully. Although at the end when they only had cav left, you probably should have pulled your troops into the city instead of rushing into the open and letting their cav get kills. Time is on your side at that point and his cav would have floundered inside the city.
You said in the Massive Alexandria battle, that you could add people on steam for some casual games if you were idle (aka campaign). I'm a history student in Norway doing my bachelor at the moment, I just want to say that I've learned a lot from your rambling about different nations, and enjoyed every minute of it, so it would be cool if I got to add you?
Near the end of the battle, when it was your infantry and their Calvary, you should have just pulled your forces into the city and fought them on the streets. It could have saved you a lot of men and they wouldn't be able to go around.
really loved the battle, but their were moments where you had spears committed to the wrong fight at the same time when swords were in the wrong fight, (against horsemen) with hindsight, I think if you had switched those units around, you would've done better, but thats only with hindsight. overall though, I loved the video nearly as epic as you Siege of Carthage (personal favourite)
Is using artillery or fiery missile barrage effective on boats in this game? Because that's the reason why there is almost no beach encounter in ancient history.
How the fuck do you micro this? You must be some sort of god. Also, it's seriously too bad this game doesn't have a stance for the ships to 'repel boarders'. Unless it does, and the opponent just wasn't using it. Your guys are too easily able to swarm their boats, it seemed.
My god.... obviously the most epic battle what I ever see.... It was like a battle-scene from some million-dollar budget historical movie. Please never stop doing this!
Was there a tactical reason for going full ham out in the open against the enemy cav? I feel it would have been better to pull back at the choke points behind a line of spears once you defeated the enemy infantry instead of throwing all your swordmen units into a grinder against cav. I don't know, it just seemed odd to me.
+ThePalatineHill it would have been possible to go for the easy win and let the enemy come to us, but that's not fun or cinematic. Often in these fights I'll throw the fight abit to keep things interesting
+THFE Productions i would have disabled the run option on all the infantry and move step by step in 2 waves. one advancing, one bracing in shield wall. makes cav charges useless, albeit a bit slower than outright push to the slaughterhouse :)
Solid work on the naval side. That's how I envision my battles going, but it usually ends up with much closer losses as opposed to you outright destroying an entire flank.
correction, there's 10 units of enemy cavalry, its suicide to leave the narrow streets and confines of your city. You're not following your own bottlenecks battle plan
I really liked what you did with this episode. I'd like to offer a few suggestions though. Try to draw the battles out longer and maybe add a little bit of story to it with different battles leading up to am eventual siege
It was really good! Please, do more the same battles and videos! It will be nice to see the whole battle in different parts like you did it with naval/land parts.
+fastllama13 You probably already knew this, but there is an extensive modding community that made Westeros: Total War out of M2TW. You should check it out if you haven't done so! Last I checked in on them, they were still working on quite a bit of material, but it's been a while so they probably have a lot more done now.
the only thing I do not like since Rome II TW is that ships that are disembarked leave the battlefield : I used to use my fleets in defensive battles to clog up my harbor :)
+THFE Productions Well, I'm playing Rome II at the moment and they're not there by default :/ Do I have to tick/untick certain boces in the settings? Couldn't find any
Hey, I really like your videos, just subbed! :D I was wondering what PC specs you have, as I was hoping on getting a GTX 960 with an FX-6300 PC for Christmas. Could I run Rome 2 and Attila pretty well??
Of course man, I got way lower specs and playing rome 2 in very high/ultra and attila in medium (yeah it needs an performance optimization but you shouldnt get problems) in 45 fps in campaign map and 40 fps in battles
MrArchi1000 and you get 45 40 in battles ? dude i play total war 2 rome empror editon and i have an intel core 5i 4gb ram (2,9 useble) and i get 30-45 in 3 players battles,i also play on high, with the highest reselotion, but it seems that total war games are badly optimizd, cus 16 gb ram computers cant get full fps on ultra.
This was great fun fighting with you and Indy :) GG!
+Alex The Rambler! Yeah it was man really enjoyed it. We should do more
+milkandcookiesTW Agreed :)
Call of Warhammer battles or RIOT >:/
That koala Some more Warhammer coming very soon, promise :P
+That koala Your wish has been granted, my marsupial friend. For Skavenblight! For the Great Horned Rat!
I like the way you showed one part then showed the other have should have more battles like this with nice big naval sieges
I like how they jump so high when they board the ship lol.
Nice editing in this video, I really like how you separated certain aspects of the battle to allow us not to miss anything.
+Fox008 I think it definitely is a sign of an epic battle when you have to rewind to catch everything
+THFE Productions I definitely agree, what an epic battle. Makes me secretely pray for the announcement of Medieval III :p
+THFE Productions Is there any chance to get this replay and watch it myself once again from different perspective?
+Fox008 very good channel indeed!
The Royal Guardsmen with the Kite Shields look badass.
That horse at 19:02
+Ethan Harper lol, didnt even notice :D seems like somebody delivered quite a heavy punch there xD
That citizen trying to defend the city should've gained the highest honor :(

Wow! Thanks to you I want to play battles in cooperation in this game! Great! Thnak you again
Look at that horse sliding/flying across the ground at 19:02. xD
amazing, the way u guys can give so many orders....another lvl... ;)
You said in the Massive Alexandria battle, that you could add people on steam for some casual games if you were idle (aka campaign). So much stuff happened that the 2 parts were not enough to explain what was going on xDDD NICE👌👌👌👌.
OAK why didn't you post this sooner?! I already had the this battle spoiled by rambler! THE SUSPENSE IS GONE!
Near the end of the battle, when it was your infantry and their Calvary, you should have just pulled your forces into the city and fought them on the streets. It could have saved you a lot of men and they wouldn't be able to go around.
makes you wonder what total war warhammer will look like in 3v3.
+tom k if they dont sell 3v3 in dlc
+Galbalad lol
+tom k You can Tom! just pay $29.99 for the 3v3 pack! To celebrate this release we've done a Free-LC 2v2 pack!
+tom k Hopefully better, they should be able to learn from previous mistakes
+Total War Piper™ hope so
8:25 LOL the general speech is a reference winston churchill in second word war
Oh man enjoyed every second of this!!!! :D
Oakley ride the wave and do some battles in the 1212 mod for rome 2!!
plz it will be so awesome!!!
Hi Invicta/Oakley,
What mods are you using for this game?
I can tell you're using mods due to the height you're at.
Thanks,
Stefos
One of the best Massive Battles in a while imo.
totally agree. Especially with it being Age of Charlemagne.
Why do people not like it when he pauses the battle? He just wants to show as much of the action as he can. I don't mind it at all
This is the coolest Total War battle I've seen! Thanks for sharing it!
really loved the battle, but their were moments where you had spears committed to the wrong fight at the same time when swords were in the wrong fight, (against horsemen) with hindsight, I think if you had switched those units around, you would've done better, but thats only with hindsight. overall though, I loved the video nearly as epic as you Siege of Carthage (personal favourite)

sending infantry into the front field was unbelievably stupid
Hey oakley ,xwhat's the map called? Awesome battle btw.
How the fuck do you micro this? You must be some sort of god. Also, it's seriously too bad this game doesn't have a stance for the ships to 'repel boarders'. Unless it does, and the opponent just wasn't using it. Your guys are too easily able to swarm their boats, it seemed.

+THFE Productions i would have disabled the run option on all the infantry and move step by step in 2 waves. one advancing, one bracing in shield wall. makes cav charges useless, albeit a bit slower than outright push to the slaughterhouse :)
Total war naval battle is the best.
I totally wish it was possible to play with this camera angle, it makes it feel so immersive as if your actually there
5:22 Rome II Siege Tower Flashbacks D:
I really like your videos, but most of the time, i cant see who is who..
Solid work on the naval side. That's how I envision my battles going, but it usually ends up with much closer losses as opposed to you outright destroying an entire flank.
So sad that my PC would run this kind of battle in Rome 2 but not in Attila..
correction, there's 10 units of enemy cavalry, its suicide to leave the narrow streets and confines of your city. You're not following your own bottlenecks battle plan
Around 11:00, I thought of that Star Wars line from robot chicken, "that's the high ground way; I mean the the Jedi way."
My only problem is it's attila and the units all look the same and it's so dark other than that great battle
13:45 thats just like how the battle of Black water bay was like in ASOIAF books
Imagine if CA announced that they were gonna make Total War: A Song of Ice and Fire
+fastllama13 it would be a dream
+fastllama13 They probably wouldn't do it justice
Yeah, but one can hope
+fastllama13 You probably already knew this, but there is an extensive modding community that made Westeros: Total War out of M2TW. You should check it out if you haven't done so! You did that replay commentary like a documentary on History Channel. It was really entertaining! Great job :)
The opening of this battle is what I wish other UA-cam channels would do. Love you bringing us into your plans like that.
nice vid
Great video, although in real life the Mercians and other Anglo-Saxon kingdoms never had any significant Navy
Epic battle. Also game looks beautiful. Wished it looks as good on my pc.
nice! If only your opponent would had some camel tanks. Than he could've driven over your defences :p
I think naval battles in Attila are quite beautiful and epic. Definitely, the most under appreciated mode in Attila.
Hey Oakley was wondering if you were interested in playing a 2v2 against me and my friend in Napoleon?
I really love your Massive Battles videos but this one is so far one of the bests! Really great job Oakley!
so you do alot of attila stuff it seems, has the game been fixed or is it only the campaign mode that everyone hates about this one?
why would you commit your infantry into the open, exposing them to the 6 units enemy cavalry?
i wished you were the attacking team
will it run amd a8 7600k and r7 250 (2gb ddr3) and what setting plss reply
I really like the great views of the battle you got in this. The naval battle was really good!
damn, that was totally awesome. i like it when you rewind and catch up on things that happen.
man this is crazy I'm new to the game and still trying to get basic battle control down
hey Oakley what camera mod do you use? Nice video keep up the great work!
what cav mod did you have for the danes since they don't have cav inn vanila AoC?
just a small thing, i think you use the word "suppress" consistently sort of wrong. it means a little more than just ranged fire.
Do you have the second battle In this series? Because that battle is epic just wondering because I think you dropped in deployment.
+kurt sell watch Siege of Carthage, in my opinion its even better than this.
in the desc it says that it is total war warhammer.. lol nice battle tho Oakley!
Love the vid :)
Ho-ly shit....
lol impossible jump ... BUT STILL A EPIC FIGHT
It's unfortunate I can only like this video once. Great job! Most epic total war battle I've seen.
Lol you forgot to put the name of the game in the title again😂😀
+Wilson Collier not really, it says Age of Charlemage on the thumbnail and my video title for massive battles never really calls out the game
You put so much effort in your commentary, great work! One of the best commentary ive seen ! :)
I'm sorry but I like live game play not a review of game play
I really enjoy your videos man keep up the good work.
19:05 horse goes.flying 20ft across the screen. these moments man
5:27 those herioc soilders jumping onto the other boats do you every average 20ft high jumps
+Matthew Simms welcome to the army *injects super jump drugs*
Is there anyway to get in on a subcommander battle
invicta you are awsome bro love from pakistan
i wonder what will warhammer naval battles look like
Why is every naval disembarkment a D-Day?
This was amazing, more battles like this please
Great battle, lots of little interesting moments
Damn that horse at 19:02 slid into the DM's hard!
the only thing I do not like since Rome II TW is that ships that are disembarked leave the battlefield : I used to use my fleets in defensive battles to clog up my harbor :)
That battle was amazing, good job!
Thumbs up for flying warriors 5:20.
Where do you get those markers to show anticipated troop movement and the like (the colored arrows)? Are they some kind of mod?
+TheAnakinn It's been there by default for Rome II and Attila
+THFE Productions Well, I'm playing Rome II at the moment and they're not there by default :/ Do I have to tick/untick certain boces in the settings? Couldn't find any
Ah, that might be the problem, I've been only playing single player so far^^
Hey, I really like your videos, just subbed! :D
I was wondering what PC specs you have, as I was hoping on getting a GTX 960 with an FX-6300 PC for Christmas.

AMD Radeon 8500m/8700m
Win 7 64bits

MrArchi1000 and you get 45 40 in battles ?

Awsome job. Keep em comin.
Damn that was a good battle
who the f--k disliked this
What does unfulate (umfulate?) mean? 11:13
Enfilade. Basically shooting someone in their flank
Why does it say that the game is Warhammer?
Ghostly Gibus it says age of charlemagne...
MOAR WARHAMMER RRRRRAAAAAAA
