Demolition of Yokosuka Prime: Transformation Underway at Yokosuka Chuo Station

The iconic Yokosuka Prime, connected to the pedestrian bridge at Keikyu's Yokosuka Chuo Station, opened its doors in 1972 but began demolition in 2024. This area in Wakamatsu-cho, Yokosuka City, Kanagawa Prefecture, is set for redevelopment with plans to build a new complex featuring a basement and 33 above-ground floors. The new facility will include commercial floors from the 1st to the 4th, a residential entrance on the 5th, a hotel spanning the 6th to the 10th, and residential units from the 11th to the 33rd floors. The completion of the project is expected by the summer of 2029. Demolition of the current building has been progressing since late March.
