- Season 4 has blown the past three seasons out of the park with the heightened level of character and plot development and the latest episode, Hack-San proved no different. A new ladybug is in town, and temas up with Cat Noir to protect Paris from one of the more formidable villains of the show, Robustus. It's an episode you won't want to miss.

in earlier episodes don't they state that adrien has had martial arts training. if that's so why can everyone always beat him in a fight?

When you mentioned Alya’s ladybug costume compared to Marinette’s, I came up with a theory. Back in origins when marinette first got the miraculous and tiki briefed her on what’s happening she probably never imagined becoming a superhero, let alone be right person to be one, and never put thought on a costume, while Adrien was actually excited when Plagg explained to him and was eager for the job, so when he transformed his costume had thought put into it. The same theory could also apply to Alya’s costume and other holders

Well that’s actually a confirmed theory, since the costumes are what the holder wants deep inside.
I think you're right. Actually I think it's cannon because the Miraculous is supposed to form to each user witch I love 💖 The costume is a reflection of who they are.
It's a neat theory, but I still think it's because Thomas designed that costume first and decided to go with the first draft lol rip
I agree with this theory because 1 Alya had a frame of reference for her fox suit because of Lila and when she was called to be incognito her out fit changed again same with lady bug when she became guardian
I miss the days when Chat noir would shine as well like for example in season 1, stormy weather episode. Both him & ladybug were amazing! But the past few seasons and it seems like I'll agree on the part about chat noir on this commentary video.
Just imagine the team they'll create in the future it seems that ladybug is the main focus there. Bunnix said it herself.

It’s such bad writing tbh. Gabriel and Adrien are established to be extremely intelligent and prodigious in their own right. But as soon as they put on the miraculous they become stupid for no reason other than plot convenience. It’s honestly such bad writing.

Why is it that the Ladybug costume looks so much better on anyone that isn't Marinette? I really wish her Lucky Charm outfit was her permanent one because that one is an improvement.

Marinette’s Ladybug costume is kinda basic, I think? And yes, I respectfully agree with you about the lucky charm outfit. It should be permanent. The suit upgrade is way better than the 1st one

When i first saw this episode i was kinda happy that cat noir was angry he is been put in a corner to make space for Alya's character and i don't understand why the authors of this show don't let cat noir anger last for more than one episode is not natural how things work in this show. In my opinion i'd be so cool if cat noir at the last episodes has so much represed anger that he joins shadow mothl to take down ladybug for the way she treats him.

While that would be interesting, the writers would probably frame it so that Adrien is in the wrong and say that his switching of sides is proof that ladybug should never has trusted him to begin with.
So rather thrn it being a case of "mistreatment induced betrail" it would be noir being "I am a self centered toddler that the entire world should revolve around."
I really wish we would have more cross-episode storylines. Too many things are never addressed again and only occur in one episode.

I really didn't like that Marinette saved the day; Alya, even is she did not have the "spots" vision, she could have do it with her "own superpowers". And the final it was really cool, for an instance i thought Chat Noir actually was going to tell Ladybug: Hey! You think I'm a sidekick or what?! But well, that last dialogue is going to have suuuper repercusions on the future... I hope, that would be epic 😌
The spots vision isn’t a power, it’s showing Marinette figuring out how to use the lucky charm or item, even if she is not Ladybug.

The spots vision doesn't seem to be connected to the ladybug miraculous. She had it as Lady Noir as well.
Noir is too much of a pushover and cowar to confront Ladybug yet. Adrien's entire life seems to be "repress of what makes me feel sad till I am use to it"

all ladybug had to do was call Cat Noir and say, "Hey, Cat Noir, I'm not going to be in Paris for some personal reasons so I've given the ladybug miraculouses to someone I really trust. So if an akuma appears and a different ladybug shows up, don't worry, it's the friend I mentioned, unless it really is a fake ladybug and you can trust her. See you later kitty kat-- bug out." that's all she had to say, but she didn't. and am i supposed to be surprised when Cat Noir attacks Alya. It's ridiculous how she can't do something that simple, i mean, he's her partner first and foremost, before Alya, there was Cat Noir. all she had to do was call or leave a message. the writing is just ridiculous, the world is not stopping LB and CN's relationship, it's Marinette entirely. she's refusing to communicate and them blames the world for 'wE cAn'T rEvEaL oUrSelVes'. and then she has the nerve at the end to be like, 'i'll never leave you' you won't even tell him simple important details. the writing is becoming worse and worser with each episode. i bet when the reveal happens she won't even learn from her mistakes and just say, "Cat noir was Adrian all along, i should have trusted him!" instead of "whoever he is, he is my first partner and i trust him."
Partners in name only. Actions prove that they sees him as a pawn and dresses it up as a partnership sole to have him compliant.
She many not even realize she is manipulating him like that but most manipulators don't.

I would’ve thought Tom’s most prized possession is the bakery but makes sense he chose Marinette. I mean, he couldn’t just get up and walk to the bakery and tap it.

Adrien is an atheletic fencer and the only miraculous holder (aside from Ryuuko) who gets regular combat experience/practice outside of superhero time. Remember Adrien's first duel with Kagami, specifically how fast his reflexes were without the help of superpowers. Keep in mind that Adrien does athletic training while also being a superhero daily.
Alya is still new to regular hero work and does not have any training time to hone her skills outside of her limited time in HIDING as Rena Furtive.
Cat Noir should have wiped the floor with Alya in SECONDS without breaking a sweat.
but writer make him forget who he is in chatnoir costume... according to writer mari is omnipotent even without power and alya can become best fighter in seconds... if he was real, i would have filed a petition against treating chatnoir like this.
Combine that with his literal power of absolute destruction, and Cat Noir should be easily the most dangerous person alive. Yet, he can't even hold a candle to a psycho klutz in a polkadot onesie with a magic yo-yo that seems to give everyone, except her, exactly what she wants.
alya needed to defeat chat noir to temporarily capture him and prove to him that che had no desire to steal his miracoulouse and was on his side.if chat noir had won he would've continued to believe his original suspicion about her and their wouldn't be an episode.
I just figured Alya had learned to fight from her older sister, the boxer.

Well, Chat has been tricked once by sentimonster pretending to be LB once and almost been tricked by wax statue of LB bringed to life bu Puppeter, AND bcs Marinette did not warned him of new temporary holder of Ladybug's miraculuos, him jumping to assumption that Alya is some kind of an enemy is really reasonable decision. With all the details, I think that even Ladybug would aprrove of him not giving up so easly this time, finally learning his lesson.
And while I too did not enjoyed Alya kicking Cat's ass, the rest of his interactions with her were great in my opinion. Remember that chronologically it is one of the first times she did somethink like this to him, so of course he would be upset at this point. Remember that in Rocketear and Wishmaker he seems more depressed and down at suspitions of LB replacing him, not angry (sentibubler is different story, he got angry at literally being exluded from acion, not from strategicall decisioning). And I particulary like two little details that you missed in the reviev, one being Marinette specifically writing to Alya to laugh at Cat's jokes (because it makes him happy) and other, when Robostus made people pretend like they are in danger, Alya quicly jumps to rescue them, but Cat is suspicious about it and not only tells her that LB would think before running to help, he actually keeps distance, while Alya jumps almost into the hands of Robostus minions he lands on the street lamp and then go to help Alya after being familiar with the situation, and, up to the lucky charm plan of the day, he is the one draging her into safety, making decisions and keeping them safe. And he is serious, not cracking a single joke and doing any silli pose, until he sees that Scarabella need cheering up. Then with witty speech about her being her, not replacing LB, he makes her confident enough to come up with a plan that saves the day, Marinette being almost only an executor of the plan, not some fundamental part of it (I don't see it as her being forced into plot to make her amazing, but I still wouldn't mind if she wasn't included at all, so a bit ambivalent feelings about final plan). And then, what I picked up, not only Alya tells Marinette to talk to Cat, because she seen first hand that he is not really okay with his role, but all the things I pointed, Alya saw personally that Cat is usefull in a fight, and once he makes his mind, he really is protective, she literally would not defeat Robostus if it wasn't for him, so it ties nicely to Rocketear, when she tells Marinette that she already has a Compilation of Chat's Noir for Ladyblog. I feel that she might have started working on this after her episode as Scarabella.
ok but then why alya had to tell marinett to speak wiht chat nour? she should at lest got to speak with him after all the shinenignas that she created herself, you point out that marinette "cares" for chat yet she didn't giva a shit about the whole situation... or at least enough to go an speak with chat

Miranette not once proved that if she obssesses on somethink she stops noticing effects of her decisions on other people, with the worst example being asking Juleka to tell Luka not to go to HIS OWN BIRTHDAY PARTY, putting Juleka in probably the most akward position she ever was in her life. Other exmaples are when she almost let go of her friends and made them akumatized, did not listened to Chloe while Chloe was telling her where the akuma is, etc. She has a running vice of blinding herself from others feelings while focused on somethink else. And yet, would you tell she does not care for Alya, Juleka, Luka etc.? Same goes with Chat: she cares for him, but she still needs to be remainded that speaking to him is necessary, because she is not perfect.

I agree, Chat's reactions were on point in this episode. Ladybug USED to tell him everything (except the superheroes' identities) and now she doesn't bother to let him know she'll be out of the country and she has a replacement? Why not tell him before the day of the trip just in case she couldn't convince her parents to let her stay in Paris? Why not sneak for a bathroom break just to transform and leave Chat a message about it on their superhero devices like other times? And this random replacement knows her identity when he doesn't because "revealing our secret identities would be too dangerous"... yeah, unless you reveal it to someone else than Chat, I guess. Of course he would assume this new Ladybug is a fake and would attack her. The fact that she is not convincing him with just some proof that she is telling the truth, but by defeating him after just a few times of being a superhero was a slap in the face to his long experience as Chat Noir. The rest of their interactions made sense and were true to their characters at least, I liked them. I loved seeing Chat being serious and critical of the new Ladybug until the point the tension was too high so a joke and some encouragement was needed, that was such a realistic shift for him.
I don't think it's cute at all what the real Ladybug says to Chat at the end. She doesn't promise to talk to him more from now on, she doesn't promise to ever reveal her identity to him as well, she doesn't set up a way for the two of them to safely talk outside of the superhero costumes in the case of an emergency. She does nothing except saying a vague "I'll always be by your side" when there's no way to guarantee such a thing when living a superhero life. Also I wish Chat didn't gloss over her not treating him like an equal and not telling him she is going to be out of town, but at this point it seems like he is used to this poor treatment so I'm not too surprised about it.
The episode was good overall, but the way Chat was mistreated yet again is awful.
I actually loved it. Chat and Alya have such a fun dynamic but then marinette somehow still got to save the day?? sighhhh I really wanted chat to take the lead for once. Plus he forgave Ladybug WAYY to easily. She broke her own rule!! He should yell a bit
Marrinette has to save the day because she is the strongest in the universe. Even back in weredad she won without being able to transform.
Noir and Scarab are merely windows dressing.
And Noir not forgiving ladybug would give noir character and a backbone. Something that Adrien is not allowed to have as he must be subservient to everyone in his life

For him taking the lead, he would likely mess it up. Neither Adrien nor Noir have shown independent thinking or tactics. In fact Noir tends to be so gun ho about it that he has been beaten by weaker opponents.
9:48 To be fair I don't think cataclysm is actually that dangerous for a miraculous holder. Adrien himself got cataclysmed in Miraculer and didn't die. So even if he did cataclysm her, like Astruc confirmed the suits of the miraculous holders can protect them from straight up dying.
I also understand why he kept being salty towards Alya in the beginning tho. From his perspective, Ladybug is someone so responsible and honest that she would never hand over the world's most powerful Miraculous that a terriost actively seeks to someone completely new and inexperienced without even informing him just like that. It's kinda sad how much blind faith and trust he has in her that he believes she'd never keep him in the dark.
Catacylsm is a stroke of "bad luck" so it COULD kill, but it probably won't.

As much as I hate the way Chat is portrayed as incompetent lately, in this episode's defense, it does seem like it's semi-consistent that he tends to be a sloppy fighter when he's angry. He just gets impulsive and stops using his brain, and is more easily overtaken because of it.
And all of the other times he has been taken out like a chump when he hasn't been angry?
Noir is just the least component holder in the series. Plain and simple. And Fu made a bad choice when selecting him
@@nkohler5601 Even if I agreed with you, that's clearly not the intention of the writers. Ladybug has never once said "he's incompetent, therefore we need to bring in new heroes" or told him to get out of the way because he was causing more trouble than he's worth. The writers make the choices, not Fu or Chat Noir - they're fictional characters. The capabilities of the characters are up to the writers, and the writers aren't trying to write Chat Noir being an incompetent holder. That hasn't ever been a point of contention in the show.
I think they may be making a point in that Ladybug doesn't think he takes things seriously enough, even if she'd be wrong to do so - but it has nothing to do with competence, that much is obvious.

@@AdaHazard as a visual media. They can tell something without words. Noir has been taken over by the effects of an Akuma 10 times by my count. That is more then alya and Nino together. The only one even c.ose to him is Mr pigeon at his 72 but we have only seen I think 4 on screen. We have seen every one of Adrien's failures as Noir.
For an analogy. If a person fires 10 arrows and only hits the target 1 time. They are a bad archer. No words needed.
Yes I know that the writers direct the characters. But in the end if we're are to believe the universe. And the miraculous universe says Adrien is a bad holder of any miraculous. 200,000 failues is 200,000 failues.
They need to make an episode where Adrien actually seriously considers not transforming because he knows he's useless compared to LB. It would highlight LB not telling him important stuff (e.g maybe leaving him a message saying oh btw I'm leaving town and there is a new ladybug) and make him question their trust. If they do make this episode, Ladybug needs to be put in a situation where she needs Chat noir to save her. Chat saves her with very little assistance from any other heroes or from ladybug herself. This would definitely make him realise how important he is as chat noir and make him seem less of a dead weight...
That would be a great wake up call for her. If she were captured & he was the only one that could save her but there was no way of reaching him because he is kept outside the loop. Rena Rouge would be limited in what she can do & even though she can get the other superheroes involved, they just can't do what CatNoir can do to help her.
They did this with cat walker. Except without the great solution you provided. They just solidified even more that chat noir is nothing more than another miraculous holder, but ladybug needs him because having another “perfect” chat is too distracting.
I’m happy to report that the season finale has raised my hopes for the upcoming season and ladybugs and chat’s relationship. The buildup was great and she apologized. I’m looking forward to the reparation and upcoming reveal!
How about a specific magical threat that doesn't need the use of the Akuma capture. I'm convinced the Akuma capture was created to complete Marinette's sue powers. Because SHE'S LADYBUG she's the only one who can counter one of if not the most broken miraculous in existence. Why?
Based on Bunnyx's stories. The magical adventures don't end and it seems like the group encounters non-miraculous threats all the time. It would be cool if Chat can just be a bad ass wiping the floor with villians and beating them until they give up or run away.
Possibly they already finished an episode idea like this already. It is just too blurry for them to air on television, like a few of them definitely were when we saw saw them online somewhere. It could have been one of the very first ideas that they talked about at least. They definitely focus first on the episode details getting them correct first before worrying about the quality of the episode. Strangely I knew exactly what the script of this video was going to be way in advance of it actually being made. They might have even stated this is what the video would be about the description as being viewed by thr public as well. They definitely knew already that they wanted to make this episode idea with all of them eventually getting a video made about with them definitely making one explaining some of the points made in the video.
Alya’s ladybug costume and transformation take a lot of inspiration from Rena Rouge all the way down to similar movements, to having the large mask to cover her birth mark and the tunic style suit that splits down the center. I think it’s actually a pretty interesting detail that really shows that Alya has her own style that’s she’s made her own.
How strangely coincidental would it be if Marinette found out that Adrien's aunt and now evil twin cousin were from the same city as her aunt?

Thank you. Max deserves more love and attention. The fact he is this intelligent yet humble is amazing. He can be a crucial asset to the heroes and they don’t use him.

Ok so this was something I had a problem with Hax-San was Alya beat him because canonically doesn’t make sense. Cat’s literally has fencing training and has been fighting longer than Alya so it doesn’t make any sense. Also Marinette saving the day is so stupid it would’ve been really cool to see Alya solve the problem and save the day or have Cat come up with a plan.
And on top of all that she has a different set of powers she isn't used to

Pre-existing skills have no factor when you transform it would appear. Much like how the power rangers all become master fighters so to do the miraculous holders. If anything Adrien's training my be holding him back as he might be unwilling/unable to get the skill boost.
I think Cat Noir has a legitimate right to be angry this season over several things, but because the writers are handling it so poorly, it appears as unrighteous and petty instead of understandable. It makes sense that he would be "possessive" of Ladybug, because he's used to everyone in his life either abandoning or ignoring him. The thought of her not being there or not needing him terrifies him. Also, why is it acceptable for Ladybug to berate Cat Noir in the New York special for leaving Paris without telling her, but it's perfectly acceptable for Marinette to give her miraculous to someone else and not tell Cat Noir? And if you say, "Well, Paris still had a defender in Alya, unlike when Cat Noir left the city completely defenseless in the New York special", there was no way for Marinette to know that Alya would be a good Ladybug. What if she was terrible, and both she and Cat Noir lost to Shadowmoth because of it? But what I think is worse (and the more egregious hypocrisy, not only in this episode but of this season) is Ladybug demanding trust from Cat Noir but then not being honest with him and leaving him to be blindsided by a new partner. She never has to uphold her own standards. And this hypocrisy is never addressed because Cat Noir just accepts her reasoning and lets his anger go.
Yes, Adrien has handled his anger and jealousy poorly several times this season. But can we really blame him for how he feels? There is such potential for great character development and great story development if the writers were willing to handle Cat Noir's feelings in a more mature way, and if they viewed him as a competent and equal partner/hero instead of a useless sidekick and punching bag.
he even motivates all ... marinette,ladybug and scarabella when they are down... i love how he supports scarabella by saying she is unique and give her enough back up... but no one says nice words to him or motivates him.. ladybug just make fun of him instead of helping in reflekdoll...here alya do the show off of ladybug miraculous than explaining it properly.
What I personally found really cute was how one of the tips Marinette gave said “always laugh at Chat’s jokes even if you don’t find them funny because it makes him happy.” I’m not the only one who found that so cute, right? It’s one of those small things that shows that Marinette does care about her partner.
Besides that, this episode was definitely enjoyable. I like that the writers are continuing to show Chat’s frustrations and how conflicted he is over whether or not Ladybug is truly being honest with him.

The Chat Noir smack down made me angry and the way the akuma got taken out was a bit anticlimactic, but otherwise I really liked it. I appreciated seeing Chat Noir’s anger both because it was comedic and felt more real. Everyone is always so nice and friendly in this show, I like when I see someone upset over something over a genuinely upsetting event and NOT get akumatized immediately.
Also, you’re right. Lot’s of good character development, interesting idea though not pursued as well as it could have been, but still not the best episode. For me, that’s Wishmaker

I am not surprised that she picked up her fighting skills. She can fight well as Rena so it is not completely surprising that she can beat his butt, but he is a skilled fighter too so he should have been able to land some hits too. Is it just me or did he slam her against the wall too? I may have seen the scene wrong.
He did, what screwed Chat was Scarabella summoning the trashcan lid. She disarmed his Cataclysm and momentum kept him going, leaving openings for Scarabella to land those three swift hits.
But it still dosent make sense Adrien is physically stronger than her and he also had MUCH more experience in fighting than her he should've beat her with ease

He threw himself at her with a cataclysm, which he also knows not to do to akumatized villains and sentimonsters, and she disarmed him, leaving him to stumble over. After that, it doesn't matter how strong or experienced he is if he left himself open to get thrown around like a ragdoll. In addition to that, you have to take into account Alya's own experience. If he got beat up by like, Vesperia, Pegasus or Ryuko, then yeah, that'd be an issue. But Alya is the third-strongest Miraculous holder on the team.

Actually I disagree with the "no other solutions part".
The Startrain episode had literally the same premises, and Fu gave her the horse Miraculous.
Plus, she wouldn't need to constantly check the news because:
A. There's an akuma app on her phones (Startrain episode)
B. Alya could have c all her if something bad happened (of course if she was captured she couldn't have done that, but still).
I thought wed finally end up getting an episode in which marinette doesnt play a part in defeating the villain but alya ended up needing her wouldve been nice to see a bit of change
I think this season has been the best we’ve seen mostly because not only is the plot actually moving, but Alya is getting some serious character development and the writers are clearly having a blast coming up with new plans for shadow Moth, new heroes to join the squad, and just new interesting ideas all around beyond the basic monster of the week format. I love this season.

In Cat Noire's defense he has been attacked by a bunch of fake Ladybug's, if my close friend and creepy obsession suddenly got replaced by a mysterious lookalike after dealing with this for however long this show has taken I'd probably be a bit trigger-happy too.
I can't wait to see how all of this plays out, I reckon this was the last we'll see of Alya's arc this season as I think Gang of Secrets, Mr Pigeon 72, Optigami, Sentibubbler and Hack-San were all a build up to her big commitment in Rocketear being Rena Furtive and having the task of hiding in the shadows and following Shadowmoth home if he ever shows up in public again.
Overall great arc, now we gotta get that Luka and Cat Noir angst out of the way :D

Tbh I miss the time when this show was about tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir not Ladybug and Rena Rouge. Scarabella first time using Ladybug miraculous, already pro at using yoyo and figuring out lucky charm, unlike s2, chat being completely blind for Ladybug and not even saying anything to her about how he feels seeing other superheroes overshadowing him. The writing was literally terrible and worst they could ever go.
I like the idea of Tom and Markov trying out different recipes like Markov mentioning the science stuff behind baking and Tom working on baking said recipes and seeing which ones taste better. Idk, I just think their friendship would be super cute and fun!!!!!

He got cataclysmd in the rips, got back up and went to save the day even though there was obvious pain, got cataclysmd again, thrown onto his ribs like twice, all in ONE EPISODE.
The ammount of times he gets hurt significantly and just GETS BACK UP AGAIN is impressive.
Also, adrien is an amazing fenceman, but litterally anyone seems to be able to beat him even though theyve never fought before.

No but the whole conflict and Alya getting it was pointless. Ladybug has the space power up and access to calcie. She can get back if she needs to. Besides, she seemed to have no issue at all with going to NEW YORK AND SHANGHAI when they’re way farther away from Paris than London is. I mean she went to Shanghai (abandoning Paris) just to stalk Adrien and actually got the miraculous stolen from her, but going to London only a country away to see family is soooooo awful and “she can’t just leave Paris” :/
Seen this episode compared to the New York special a lot, (with a lot of hate towards either Chat Noir or Ladybug. This fandom seems very divided. I’m just here saying they are both in the right and in the wrong equal amounts. Although they are really trying to tip the balance in season 4 for some reason but the put of orderness is probably also not helping with that)
They both have to go on a trip they can’t really get out of without seeming suspicious. They both should of told the partner but didn’t and something went wrong.
However it’s the differences that interest me. Chat left Paris completely alone. He knew Ladybug was gone and acted recklessly. He was critically at fault there, and almost lead to something that could of been up fixable (and also the whole fault out due to that if one of my favourite things. I’d say it was quite a realistic and understandable reaction. Same as when Marienette has breakdowns)
Here, ladybug knew Chat Noir was still around. Critically she had someone she could temporarily pass the duties onto. However, once again, not tell Chat lead to the problem (same with him not knowing about Rena’s illusions. Can’t follow a plan if you don’t know it).
It also was a rare show of continuity. Chat knows Ladybug is the most strict about know one knowing who they are. He is also aware that she has access to the horse and there have been ‘fake’ ladybugs (and others) before. It’s actually a logical leap that he would attack her because everything he knows says that this is not a viable scenario. So I’d say, unlike in New York, Ladybug was the one more in the wrong.
I just wished Alya struggled a bit more. It was said that Ladybugs powers were meant to be a lot harder to use and wish they kept up with that.

I agree with chat leaving new york but we all have to understand he's completely isolated if I got that chance to leave that hell in my Father's house I would do it in a heartbeat. And what I don't like is when mari left paris to go to shanghai without telling chatnoir or even leaving a voice message or something. And chat did do the same too. So I think they're both in the wrong but it's not like Adrien had a choice to leave Paris to shanghai his father forced him but mari did have a choice to not leave.
I'm not good at looking at shows and movies with a critical eye, so I just like everything about season 4. But that's why I watch videos that criticise a bit, to maybe notice something that I didn't notice while originally watching.

About the Tom having Markov’s number thing, it’s probably from Gamer 2.0 where Max came over to Marinette’s to play video games with her parents. Still a little strange though.
I like the set up but New York established Cat Noir literally has a way to call her when she isn’t checking the news and is away. Alya can have the same thing no problem or just use Chet’s
I will say, the episode was a really cool concept. And this time I can kinda understand why chat noir would be angry at the new ladybug, since someone he doesnt know now has their hands on one of the most powerful miraculouses out there(I did watch the dub, so I didnt hear it more of chat being a "nice guy" and more of just him being angry at the new imposter ladybug). The only thing i dont like though is that marinette didnt take along one of the other miraculouses with her instead, like maybe she could have taken the horse miraculous with her and still give alya the ladybug miraculous, but its alright since maybe giving marinette the horse miraculous would make the plot too cluttered.
At this point Gabriel will disown Adrien not for being a superhero, but for being a shit one. Boy imagine the shock when your son is a hero trying to stop you, but he sucks…

I was a bit disappointed that Marinette saves the day, even if Ayla set that up for her. I would of been perfectly happy with her binding side lined for an episode to give the spotlight to Ayla. I also wouldn't mind if it was something of a two part episode, which Marinette returning the next day after another supervillain attack, but that might be asking for too much. I would like to see Scarabella again, but like Mr Bug, that seems unlikely.
I do feel Marinette is at fault for waiting until the last minute to pull a backup plan out of no where. She should of seen this trip coming a while ago and should of had time to inform her friends about it, including Ayla and informing her about her intent to give her the ladybug miraculous. She would of been able to prep herself more. She also should of taken the time to call up Cat Noir and tell him that she will be going out of town again and that she has a backup plan in case Shadow Moth attacks again, if not out right telling him she is loaning her miraculous to someone else. While Kaalki does make a decent enough fall back plan it would be harder to sneak away from her family than her classmates. Although she should of still taken the horse miraculous with her as a secondary fall back plan, or at least some other miraculous with the space power up.

I like the role reversal between Chat Noir and Scarabella.
Both Marinette(as seen in the episode) and the audience are used to her being the straightwoman to Chat's antics. However, in this episode, Chat's the one who has to bear with the new user of the Ladybug Miraculous, as well as him being the one to reassure her that everything's going to be alright.
I think Cat Noir not having much of a presence in this season is a part of why they had Gabriel successfully steal the rest of the miraculous.
marinette made a bullshirt move not telling chat noir anything, alya is nothing realistic, she's just reacting like a fangirl would, the pissing off part is that she succeeds, like couldn't chat save the day today??

I would disagree with the writing its more like they take 1 step forward then take 100 steps back. They ruin other characters for the the development on a new one. Other that the main character ladybug. I also think that cat noir was misrepresented this episode. He acted stupid.
They have left cat noir in the dust this season, but I think it’s building up to something big

All she had to do was send him a quick text over their devices that “hey if anything goes wrong in the next few days, a different ladybug will be there to do the job because I am away, so don’t be alarmed”
Cat was very rightfully skeptical. For all he knew this could have been an akuma that managed to capture the real ladybug and is now trying to gain his trust to steal his miraculous too

No I would have wanted either Scarabella or Cat Noir to do it why did Marinette do it she should not have even been involved in this episode after she left
