Thanks so much Zach! Really trying hard to make the most of my time during the stay at home period and make videos that help people! Thanks for watching!
I just discovered your channel and absolutely love your work!! In addition to the gear reviews, I’d love to see more behind the scene videos of your shoot. How you planed your shoot, what’s your thought process behind certain photos, tips for photographers, etc
Thanks so much for following along Zoe! Really appreciate your kind words! I will definitely keep those ideas in mind. Hoping to have more time to make videos like that!
Thanks for watching my videos! Unfortunately, it isn't a lens I own, though I have hear nothing but rave reviews for it! My friend has it, so maybe I could borrow it from him sometime!
I can tell you that the RF28-70 F2 is an amazing lens but it is heavy and has a 95mm filter thread and cost a lot. this is the only down side I love the lens from when i got it out of the box and on the R5 i was so glad I got a battery grip to help with the weight balance and making it easier to hold. this is a very sharp lens. from the words of "Katelyn James" this could replace a 35mm and 50mm prime with ease but not sure about the 85mm F1.2 the RF28-70 and the new RF100-500 are my favourite . if you have any doubts check "Christopher Frost" he is a lens review ( sorry if out of line Shane )
Thanks for your reviews. Would like your advice please: I still have canon 5DII (more as back-up) with ef 50mm 1.8 and mainly use canon eos rp with ef 24-105mm f4 IS. I need something in the tele range for lower light situations eg. Events, one wedding per year. Would you recommend this ef135mm or rather the newer rf 70-200 f4 IS. The 5DII would probably work well with this 135mm
Sorry for the slow reply! I personally like the 135 better. It lets in more light for like the reception and just pops the subjects out of the photos! Hope that helps!
Hi Shane...! Always love your review. Greetings from Jakarta. I own EOS RP and already have RF 35mm F/1.8, RF 50mm F/1.8 and EF 100mm Macro F/2.8. I came across Canon EF 135mm and having seen many reviews, suddenly fall in love with this lens, esp the bokeh it produced. In your view, as I already have three lens, is 135mm really necessary? The 100mm Macro EF is also sharp and stunning. Should I purchase the 135mm, will it becomes redundant as I have the 100mm already? Stay safe and have a good day.
Hello to Jakarta! Sorry for the slow time to respond. I had to take a break from UA-cam as I was super busy with photoshoots and family life. Great question! I don't own the 100 2.8 so I don't know if it will be redundant for you or not. But it is a VERY good lens! The f/2 aperture at that focal length really makes the photos pop!
It's not the best. Even when people walk down the aisle at weddings towards me it misses sometimes. I used it to photograph my kids sledding, and it couldn't keep up. I put on the new RF 85 1.2 and it didn't miss a single shot. So the tech in the RF lenses is a lot faster as advertised.
I had the Canon EF 135mm 2.0 L, it is a very good lens and I will recommend it, but today I have the much better Sony 135mm 1.8 GM. I can higly recommend to use a Canon EF 1.4X extender if you like close-up photography :) With the 135mm and a 1.4X on a APSC camera you get what in fullframe format would be 300mm 2.8 ! But this is lightweight and handy :D I will love to have a 1.4X to my Sony, but for now I just crop a bit of the 61Mp ;)
@@ShaneLongPhotography fantastic. Loving your channel. Ive got an eos r and the rf 35, just ordered this. Love your style and methods.thanks for sharing your knowledge.
I use the think Think Tank Retrospective and LOVE it. Here is link to the video I made about it! If you end up buying it, I have a link in the description! ua-cam.com/video/sgMNBQdDNX0/v-deo.html
One of my favourite lenses in my kit that I have owned for many years which shall only ever be replaced when an RF version arrives! 🙂🙏🏾
Same! It is so light and small and yet so beautiful!
Looks like you're making the most of this quarantine! Really enjoy all the reviews you've been cranking out

Love the photos during lens flare ! I like the expression, colors and your editing is timeless and elegant.
Thank you so much! Really appreciate that!
This review was awesome. Answered all of my questions about this lens.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching!

Hey can you do a review of the Canon 28-70 F2? and if you'd recommend it. Thanks. Love your videos!

How does this compare to the new 135 f1.8?
Love this review. The 135mm focal length took some getting used to, especially going from the 70-200, but the IQ is superb.
Thanks Jeffrey! Right? The 70-200 definitely has its purpose, but for the price, aperture, and size, the 135 is such a great deal.
Very well done, lots of information. Comparison to 85 is a good bonus.
Thanks Mike! Glad it was helpful!

Oh wow the pictures are so beautiful! Thank you for making this video.
Question: Would it work well if I combine Canon T6 with Canon EF 135mm f2L USM?
Yes, absolutely! This lens is amazing!
is the 135 f/2 AF speed on an R5 any good for moving subjects?

Thanks for sharing! I bet that lens is amazing! I am hoping Canon comes out with an RF 135 1.8 soon!
Great review and educational video. One please!!

managed to get this mint condition 2nd hand for £520, it produces amazing images.
It is such a great deal!! The photos are stunning!
Can’t decide between this EF 135mm f2 and the new Samyang AF 85mm f1.4 RF 🤯
I don't have any experience with the Samyang. Keep doing your research and you will figure out what your needs are!
Shane Long Photography yeah... for my use (indoor boudoir) I need an 85 1.2-1.4
What camera bag do you use in this video and why?
