- I took an overnight ferry from Kagoshima to one of the beautiful islands in Japan. On this route, two ferry companies alternately operate once a day. Today's ship is Queen Coral Cross, operated by Marix Line.
*Important note
These small ports in islands are often affected by waves. There is always possibility that they change the port or cancel the schedule.

Reminded me of the hotel key in Florence. The key itself is standard size.. but the keychain attached was the size of a saucer .. and heavy to boot. I think its to encourage guest to leave the key with the front desk when we go out
My daughter and I watch these together and that is what said when we saw the key.
Yup. Careful what you wish for huh? Goes from no key to huge key. 😅
That missing key was so odd. I wonder what happened?
Man, I hope we all can find someone who cares for us as much as you love rice.
It's never a good idea to watch your videos on an empty stomach. LOL. At least this time, you got a key to the room. I think this ferry was more geared to cargo and cars rather than passengers with such short dining times. Still, it was better than the last one. I love these small islands around Japan.

That is a beautiful coastline, with the volcanic lava on the island... I just love how the mountains just dominate the skyline in Japan with the trees... so beautiful
Okinawa, loved it when I was there in early ‘70’s. Always wished I could build a house where my barracks stood on Camp Schwab. Walked around Henoko seemed like a bazillion times. People were very friendly.
Nice trip, but when the propellers stopped, I was like OMG, Then they were spinning again. Phew.

Another brilliant video, loved the ferry crossing and seeing both the sunset, the full moon and sunrise. The room looked good too, although I was a bit puzzled by what looked like a sewing box on the table, so I was glad when you opened it to see it was for tea/coffee and not for doing some needlework!! 😂 What a beautiful walk on the island and return journey on the plane the following day too.
It looked like a picnic basket to me.
Thet was no coffee or tea in that box and what was those square boxes??
@@loraecarter8326 Thanks at 14.34 Solo opens the top lids on the box to reveal coffee and tea and think that he mentioned those square boxes may be for the used tea bags. Best Wishes.
I honestly laughed out loud when he said it wasn't curry rice..... this is quite possibly one of the first times that it hasn't been curry rice!
I'm glad you solved the mystery without my yelling for you to use the finger holes and open the lids on the tea-set box!

I really like how the cabin had a back-rest opposite the table so you could sit on the bed and watch something on laptop / phone / tablet. Very efficient use of space. I like that.
I love it when you cruise to the southern Islands. I hope someday you can go to Hachijo-Jima, that would be great. Thanks for all of the great content!
I have visited Hachijojima several times. The ferry is simply an overnight ferry. It amazes me that more people from Tokyo don't head out that way for a short holiday. It's gorgeous and has great hot springs as well.

@@DinnerForkTongue That was true when we took the ferry about 20 years ago. It was a real simple, large tatami mat room. When we revisited about 5 years ago we flew from Haneda. The flight is less than an hour.
I was surprised there wasn’t a bath in the deluxe cabin… but I was more surprised by the size of the key!
Thanks for another cool ferry experience. Yoron looks like it would be relaxing to stay for a while, with the blue ocean and interesting coastline.
Nice ship, modern and sleek. I agree, very short hours for the restaurant seatings! At least you were able to eat🙂! The tropical blue color of the water was quite visible, despite the rain. I was surprised the room only had a toilet and sink, but no shower. I am glad the volcano cooperated while you were near it! See you next time🙂🙂

If I could give this video 5 stars, I would! Sakurajima was beautiful! The full moon shining on the water and the sunrise were just amazing! I still can't get over how cheap these ferries can be. The water is beautiful
It may not have been a sunny day, but Yoron is a stunning island. The paths through the lava rock overlooking the blue water is beautiful. As always, your videos make me smile and get 100% of my attention. Food tour in Okinawa coming up next?
It may have been cloudy at your destination, but I still saw blue water and it looked quite pretty! Oh! And the Sunset and Sunrise were so pretty!

Those square things are cup coasters to prevent teacup making marks on table. For ship, it seams they were made deeper than usual for accidental spill.

There are so many cruises/ferries in Japan. All of them are awesome.I liked the plane ride at the end here.

Yoron reminds me a bit of some of the less populated Caribbean islands I have been to such as Grenada or Grand Turk. And on the last cruise I took I actually did manage to inadvertently order a pizza delivery on the ship (from room service) just before a magic show, which greatly amused the performer. I thought I was ordering only a slice, but ended up with an entire pizza.

Thank you for another great video, seemed like a nice ship, except for limited dining times and running out options. Definitely looks like bliss, with sleeping, eating, and viewing amazing sunrises (and sunsets). Enjoyed seeing Yoron, as didn't know about it before.

Loved the trip. Was especially nice to visit all the islands. As for the sea, the color depends on how light reacts with the water . . . nothing you can do about it. Your room was very nice, the bed looked comfy. When I saw that your 3 pieces of chicken and some hayashi uneaten, I was worried. But luckily it was just the lack of rice and you took care of it. Couldn't believe the breakfast and lunch hours, they were incredibly short. All in all, a really enjoyable trip. See you in the next one. Take care. 😊

I loved this trip! The scenery was gorgeous. Room and (lack of) amenities seem kind of skint for "deluxe 1st class", and the restaurant hours seem rather inconvenient, but I guess if you know what you are getting into, you can plan for it, and put up with it for the lovely trip. Thanks for taking us with you!
