I love German food when we had a chance we go to Fredericksburg ( I live in Houston ) stay over there for weekends. I am originally from Turkey but half of my family live in Germany . Fun part is my maiden surname was “Alman” which means German. I guess our ancestors love Germany so much when they start using surname they choose it.

I have German ancestry (like my mom is 100%, she has a very German maiden name). After her divorce she kept her married name because she didn't want a German last name. I'm only familiar with Brunschwager (liverwurst in English), and Sour Kraut. I took two years of German in high school, French was easier, but why are German words so long? We have German Village here downtown somewhere, and we have a really good German restaurant.

I do not belong to an organized religion but have always loved the idea of communal living. Where people contribute to the basic needs of everyone and support eachother. The sad thing is that without a common belief system and ideology with rules that are strictly adhered to communal living rarely lasts. .
