This was a real low for the two councillors Roger Whitfield and Mike Johnston who treated an elderly resident with a heart condition in such a manner. Ken Smith’s Crime? Telling the truth which both councillors didn’t want him to because it shamefully demonstrated their hijacking of the previous Portishead Residents’ Annual Meeting for their Portishead Independent Political Party agenda. Disgusting conduct in particular by Mike Johnston who has been aggressive to residents previously as confirmed by the link shown. All the links provide commentary and evidence of what has gone wrong in Portishead Town Council since the Portishead Independent Political Party took over control in 2019. A brief period of respite occurred from 2023 to 2024 with two excellent councillors leading the council, Cllrs Aldridge and Churchill, but then the Party bullied and harassed them so much, they both resigned. The public still miss their fairness and success. The rotten core of the town council includes Roger Whitfield, Bob Cartwright, Mike Johnston, Janet Davey and their political party leader Paul Gardner. The latter who residents are hoping will not be voted back in at the forthcoming by-election.
