Hi Bixia Glad you liked the video. It would be best to pick a Fuchsia with an upright habit as apposed to say a trailing variety. Check out Stuart's "How to produce a standard" video.

I had a small standard this year for the first. Do I prune it right back the same as the bush & hardy varieties, and start again to train it?

Hi Maureen Best thing is just wait and see where it sprouts from in the Spring and go from there, if it hasn't been frosted and sprouts from the top your sound if it only sprouts from the bottom cut it back.
