  • I built a homemade wood stove for my off-grid cabin. Its made from a fifty-five gallon steel drum and some scrap metal I've been collecting, and I did it all without welding. I used a cutting wheel and a drill to do most of the work and bolted everything together. I did a test burn outside to burn off any paint then installed it in my shed to see how well it worked.

Thank you Terry sir. I'll probably have to cut a hole in the wall to get the stove in. ✌🙏👍💛

Great job on the stove. Just need's to function doesn't need to be pretty. Its gonna heat the cabin no problem.

Have you thought about attaching bricks around it held on by wire . This way it would store more heat for longer.👍🇬🇧❔

Sure looks like it will work out well, it really will be nice if it keeps a fire most of the night

Your attention to detail throughout your build was really good to see.
In addition to the practical benefits of your stove, it also looks really good, and purposeful. Subscribed.

Not sure where you got the chimney pipe from. They are very expensive here, and hard find items for cheap.

The stovepipe was piping for overhead heaters that were being replaced. I salvaged them before they went for scrap metal.

I don't think you should really put that inside a building. It doesn't look too safe and the insurance company surely won't cover you. Just play it safe.

I don't think he has insurance on a off grid cabin, I know I don't haha
