I've had my olive 'Stowaway' for years now (2013) I remember it was '13 because it was much needed on a trip to Verbier mountain biking. Absolutely outstanding bit of kit that gets regular use! Thank you for a great review Neil👌😎
At long last mine arrived this morning (13/8/24) well chuffed! An ok fit with T and winter weight jumper, normal size in cloths L/XL mine is L and a comfortable snug fit, if you like a bit of room go up a size! Thanks Neil 👍
True,we used to have one of the lads wife's make them up from parachute material, used to be called zoot suits , good for sleeping in when in the field.
I have a similar smock and trousers combo made from parachute silk. all squaddies bought them back in the day, I think they got knocked up by unit tailors. There was always somebody in the Regiment you were at hawking them at some point. packs down to fist size and cuts the wind completely. I'll never part with mine.
I was reading recently about the benefits of a wind shirt, just a bit lost with the different manufacturers. Arktis it is then!😁. I like all the different camo patterns, Belgian Jigsaw is a favourite,s as is Flecktarn. Shame they don’t do the old E. German Strichtarn…….Comrade. 😁
Got me one of these in the now defunct Optiview Camouflage, apparently Crye Precision in the 🇺🇸 objected to it being too similar to their Multicam print, and released a cease and desist. A shame really... but maybe now I have a piece of Arktis history. I collect their bits, got some fairly rare stuff, the non civilian issued B211 Mountain Smock in Dutch Digital for example.
Did you get your size based on your chest measurement or go a size up? I just ordered a small (87-97cm) and I have a 88cm chest and I can't even get the thing completely on.
No pockets? That’s the only thing missing otherwise would be ideal. Helikon Windrunner very similar but has a large kangaroo pocket but is a bit more expensive and made in China so prob not as good a quality.

I have the Flectarn version...agreed, excellent piece of kit...wish I had one back in the day in Norway to go over my HH Field Jacket 😉

I have one similar to this made from a parachute. Agree with all you said 💯. Fantastic to have with you all the time, very versatile. 👍🏾

I would love to get hold of a pair of the trousers 👍🏾
Never go out on a hike without one!
My go to is an army surplus thermal smock, I’ve got about 4 of them!
Looks great

I like it! 60 Euros in Germany, 30 in France, what did you pay?
TRC outdoors do a good one too.
I have the complete suit. Was great on the hills of Tasmania
Great review. What's the pit to pit measurement on the size?
That’s a cool jacket. ✌️🇺🇸🇬🇧✌️
Excelent jacket!!!
