Let’s consider the idea of a TWISTERS roller coaster. I believe people still miss the old Twister show and would welcome an eye-catching roller coaster based on this "franchise." While Twisters wasn’t a major box office hit, I think it still has potential! There’s so much they could do with it-like combining a high-speed roller coaster with some dark ride elements, bringing back some of the magic from the old show, adding a compelling story to the ride, and, if they incorporated spinning cars, it would make the experience even more fitting.
I originally was going to entertain this idea, but the video ended up being long enough as is so it got cut for time. That being said, you're points are spot on. Though tornadoes and NYC don't really match, the original Twister attraction was in the New York land so there is some connective tissue there. I also think a set piece at the end of this ride where they essentially recreate the tornado special effect from the original Twister attraction, but have the roller coaster doing a helix around the tornado would be a highlight moment. Not sure how financially or operationally feasible that is, but hey its an idea.

Wicked is definitely better suited for a full land, given how vast the world of Oz is. I actually had an idea for it to replace what’s left of the Lost Continent: with its current menu still intact, the Ozdust (complete with animal band) could fill in for Mythos quite well, the lot for Poseidon’s Fury could become a Defying Gravity themed rollercoaster with some expansion backstage and the current building becoming the Emerald City, and the Sinbad stage could become either a home for a new production of the musical or an original Wicked themed show (my idea was for something centering around Shiz University)
I think the thing ghostbusters has that could still warrant a ride is merch sales. If they drop the frozen empire aspect which is why the house didn’t do well if you ask me. Universal also still has waterworld and Jason Bourne despite the properties being “dead” because the attraction is good. I think the coaster if it’s good will be popular regardless. So it really depends on what you’re putting in the gift shop and I see ghostbusters merch selling better. They could make customizable jumpsuits where you get a custom name tag. You can get proton pack backpacks. Slimed tshirts. Plushies of the mini stay pufts. Etc. Ghostbusters are a fit, just drop the frozen empire aspect. As for the others, I see wicked getting an epic universe with a ride and show. USJ has a half hour retelling of the musical before.
Im gonna throw my hat into the ring on this one, what about a ride themed towards an anime like dragon ball, bleach, demon slayer, etc. Universal already has some sort of ties to anime properties as they not only distribute a few anime series, they also have had short term rides based off a few anime ips already in the japanese theme park. Not only that, but I've already seen merchandise sold at the MIB gift shop fairly recently. The medium is also no longer as niche as it once was so it could also make sense to cash in on the rising popularity. Personal bias would be a rollercoaster based on bleach but I could also see one based on either Dragon Ball, One Piece, or Demon Slayer.
Here is why it’s Ghostbusters. -BTTF and F&tF famously take place in California. They would be VERY out of place in New York. -Just giving Wicked & Beetlejuice a coaster would be a disservice to the franchise. Wicked needs to be a land with multiple attractions. Beetlejuice should be a dark ride or live show, so you can capture the franchise’s humor.
Thats what ive thought for years or make simpsons Land (SpringField) a pokemon land and re-theme it to Pokemon Snap. (Mib is my favorite ride in the park and i hope it never goes ,But I think Universals gonna pick a franchise where they can seel more merch and make more money so Ghostbusters or Pokemon.
@depthstrider6434 it's actually crazy if you think about it cuz MIB was actually newer than Ghostbusters for the longest time but now Ghostbusters came back. Still I believe they should get rid of jimmy Fallon and replace that with a Ghostbusters shooter ride because it's literally in New York! That way, there'd be a shooter ride on both sides of the park. I'd prefer rip ride rockit also be rethemed to Ghostbusters as well or an original story like dueling dragons and stardust racers. Also, fast and furious should be transformed into a rock n roller coaster/test track type of coaster that goes indoors and outdoors. This is easily the smartest and probably most business efficient option, but this is just my opinion.
Same, I feel like both Universal and Disney do better when their rides have original themes. It's the reason why EPCOT and Animal Kingdom have so much potential.
it’s a long shot but UNIVERSAL GREAT MOVIE COASTER!!! just give us like two or three dark ride scenes of classic movies and a coaster while the main universal theme is playing, or maybe a rock/metal remix of it. this coaster will be behind the music plaza and will Be visible from the globe, it should be a tribute to Universal, its history, and the fans.
I think Fast & Furious or Twister are the top choices for a new coaster theme IMO. Beetlejuice & Ghostbusters deserve a dark ride & Wicked deserves its own immersive full scale LAND inside Epic Universe on the scale of Wizarding World. Back to the Future would be an amazing theme for a coaster too, but i cant see them ever bringing it back in that kind of capacity unfortunately.
Starlight racers at Epic has already confirmed to have Flux capacitors on the back of each seats. So they aren't dropping that easter egg if they were building a coaster.
Wicked would be best as a land. It's Universal's sneaky way of building a Wizard of Oz land without MGM/Amazon/WB. Family friendly, proven to be a smash wherever it's put, they fully own the stage/book/film/TV rights to it. It's gonna be a full on land that's best described as an American Harry Potter Land
I've been a roller coaster fan ever since my childhood near Cedar Point. I hate to see any coaster go but can't wait to see a new one. That being said, I really like minions and wouldn't sweat a despicable coaster at all. But I'm really hoping for a back to the future coaster with Delorians.
I doubt Despicable Me would take over the coaster. Remember that RRR is THE thrill coaster for Studios, they need a high thrill and more “mature” property like Fast & Furious because kids won’t ride a crazy coaster.
I'm thinking Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit will be replaced by an Intamin vertical LSM coaster to retain the skyline of Universal Studios. Also, I hope the new coaster has an original theme because I'm sick of Universal, Disney, and Six Flags basing every ride off an existing IP.
With Disney I completely agree, they're tuning all of their parks into IP dumping grounds. With Universal they have Starfall Racers and all of Celestial Park at Epic next year so at least they're still willing to do original IP. For Six Flags I don't really agree, of the eight new coasters that are supposed to open next year only two are IP based.
Respectfully: 1. Universal can & should do so much better than a roller coaster for Wicked. I have to believe it’s already earmarked for a land @ Epic Universe yes? 2. BTTF coaster would be fun!
The music system is so underrated honestly. It really elevates the experience. Honestly if they just did a RRR 2 with modern music, rails, seats, and speakers it would be amazing.
One idea thats possible might be making a sing themed rollercoaster. It would fit in well with minion land (even if the entrance isnt in that erea) and universal could keep the music choosing part of the ride.
I'm not a ghostbusters fan but I was on that train for the longest time, you make good points here! After this video I'm really hoping for Kong! Evergreen tribute to the park's history, in the New York area, can shoot around a Empire State Building facade with the same height as Rip Ride. Let Islands have Skull Island, but let this be the classic Kong rep. Either that or a clone to Ride to Happiness (maybe themed to the old IPs and hollywood history in general)
They can't put F&F in epic universe unless they build an entire land, which sounds very unlikely, so I can see it coming to Universal Studios as a "replacement" for the current ride
Sir, no. Wicked doesn’t deserve just a rollercoaster. It needs a land at Epic Universe or something cute like that with 2-3 proper dark rides or rollercoasters. ✨
I really enjoy rip ride rocket, I personally think it’s smoother than the hulk and many other coasters, it’s sad to see it go but it is definitely the right decision for universal
I think you're right in that Universal could strike while the iron is hot, but that might be too hasty to just throw a Wicked coaster plan together next year. That might deserve a bit more thought put into it. I honestly wouldn't be mad at any of these options though, there's actually a lot of potential for such a narrow space.
I think universal should keep the music theme, however partner with Spotify or SoundCloud to gain access to a wide variety of songs. I personally love the idea of riding a roller coaster while listening to your favorite artist.
I really like the ideas in the video. It's very thought out and takes multiple aspects of the IP into consideration. While I like the idea of a Beatle Juice ride, I don't see that ride as a coaster. It would make more sense as a dark ride. I've been asking for a Fast and Furious coaster for years because the IP is all about speed and crazy turns. I think they could do some amazing things with a FF coaster and hopefully can close down their screen ride for a real Beatle Juice ride.
The idea of listening to music while riding a rollercoaster is so awesome and strange how we dont see much. Take apart fast and furious and Jimmy Fallon first
Hoping the theme the brand new ride at Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida to wicked something new and fresh just universal and islands of adventure needs construction. Everything new at those two parks. I’m excited what’s to come for universal Studios Orlando amazing video happy New Year’s 🎆🎇
Interesting thoughts. My hunch is that it's a Fast and Furious roller coaster, themed to New York, maybe with similar elements to the Hollywood one. It allows them to close the current Fast and Furious ride and still keep a very lucrative IP in play (and it also functions as a mea culpa for installing Supercharged in the first place). A Ghostbusters Ectocoaster is a nice thought, but your argument for why it won't be themed to GB is right on -- it's diminishing in popularity and not worth shelling out the licensing money for. I could see them one day maybe doing something on a smaller scale -- maybe MiB becomes Ghostbuster-themed. Back to the Future is also an easy concept -- and with the Flux Capacitors on Stardust Racers, they still obviously have a lot of affection for that property. But everyone who wants the park to keep looking back at its legacy movies (from 40 years ago) misses the point. When Universal opened, the IP was a way to celebrate its history. But now, these rides are all about marketing. And aside from the musical, I don't think BTTF is an ongoing property. Bob Gale and Robert Zemeckis have been pretty insistent that there are no more stories coming. There's affection for the film, but I don't know how popular it is with younger crowds. I think Easter eggs and photo ops are about all we're likely to get in the parks for this property. A Despicable Me coaster? Please, no. Beetlejuice Beetlejuice was a financial hit, but I'm not sure how much juice (sorry) is left in the franchise. A lot of people saw it, but I'm not sure a lot of people liked it. Maybe the character comes back to HHN in some fashion. Also, since the franchise's appeal is its look and special effects, I feel the only thing people would accept in way of an attraction is some sort of effects-driven show or dark ride. But it would involve paying licensing fees for a property that I'm not really convinced has legs. Wicked will come to the park someday. A roller coaster doesn't seem to make sense -- although I guess you could honor RRR by letting people select their favorite songs. Maybe a dark ride. I've heard people speculate that it will be the next land at Epic Universe -- there's certainly precedent for Oz-themed amusement park attractions. But there's also the same BTTF issue -- how much juice is left in Wicked? (Not Oz itself, but Wicked?). The story's done after next year's Part 2. I wouldn't put it past Universal to try to expand it somehow, but we've seen how padding stuff out has worked for Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. I wouldn't be surprised if, following Wicked Part 2, Universal finds a way to convert the Blue Man Group Theater for a Wicked stage show. Not necessarily the full Broadway show (why lose people for three hours?) but maybe a condensed version of highlights.
Wicked should be a dark ride not a roller coaster, probably the roller coaster should probably be either Ghostbusters or Beetlejuice. Because I feel like fast and furious shouldn't be set in New York but that's just me
I feel like if they did end up doing the Ectocoaster- it would be a fools mistake to theme it to the newer movies. However you slice it and dice it, barely anyone went to go see the legacy sequels in theatres or at all! Now wether this is attributed to them being bad films, poor marketing, or lack of public interest is anyone’s guess (my take is a mix of all 3) but if they did end up making the Ghostbusters coaster, it would HAVE to be themed to the original ghostbusters because that’s the movie people watched and people cared about. Now, would this happen? Hell no, because they would have to somehow get the likeness fees of all 4 original ghostbusters and then CGI recreations of them. The most likely outcome is Fast and Furious (no matter how little it would make sense in my opinion)
I just wanna keep the music being played on the coaster, I always enjoy when there’s something more to listen to other than just your cart rolling on the tracks
I'm glad I get to go one last time on this ride while we still have it The top 2 ideas are Ghostbusters or Back to the Future, and I think Back to the Future is the most likely
I would like Universal to do an FF roller coaster in USF if it means they close down the existing FF Supercharged, and maybe if they wanted to save money, they could salvage parts of the queue (mainly the display cars) from Supercharged, to the queue of the new roller coaster or something.
It sounds strange, but I think a F&F land could work as a sort of grown-up version of Radiator Springs in DCA. There could be the drift coaster and a dark ride that’s similar to Test Track and (if Universal really wants to recycle from Supercharged) have screen scenes and actual cars duel each other in the end. Throw in a kiddy attraction and there’s your land.
I said a rainbow road roller coaster with nintendo music tracks. The Stars can be the 3, 2, 1 go indicator. I really believe that this is the best option because think about it if you're not staying at the universal Grand Helios hotel then imagine Nintendo being inside Universal Orlando resort and that will make people go over to epic universe so you're across promoting both parks. It can also be a dark ride as well imagine going through the mushroom Kingdom through Bowser's dark lands and some of the other Mario kart Nintendo properties
Ghostbusters makes thematic sense yet Fast and Furious is another good one because then Universal can shudder Supercharged and that area can get another attraction there as a real replacement. I know Universal is still looking to put something to replace Supercharged.
i'm calling it now, it will be a family coaster thats yellow and be minion themed, and i mean family in lines of hagrids... it is already in the minion area.
Fast and Furious Supercharged by itself is a terrible attraction however as part of the overall tram tour it’s not that bad and no different from King Kong 4D.
Universal, especially in their Studios Florida park has a huge issue with getting rid of their timeless properties. Did Beetlejuice need to be replaced by the Fast and Furious queue? Did Back to the Future need to be replaced by the Simpsons? I want the Ectocoaster. The people come for the ride and less the property anyways. I bet a lot of people couldn't care less about Jurassic World but go gaga over Velocicoaster. Ghostbusters is just such a great and timeless property. I rather have Ghostbusters be in the park rather than they half ass a Wicked ride in 8 months and then 10 years from now I give it the side eye after Universal squeezed it for all its worth with three mediocre spin offs. The Wicked Broadway entrance in New York is genius though.
if you didnt know you can pick music on this ride and if you hold the screen for 10 seconds a secret menu will pop up but i dont know if it works or not
they definitely won’t do this but i would love if they stick with music theme. love the idea behind rockit and it could be such a cool ride. partner w spotify or something. idk how they could do that tho that’s above my pay grade 🤷♀️

This is easily the smartest and probably most business efficient option, but this is just my opinion.
honestly I kinda see the future of MIB turning into the same ride system as Mario Kart- with some changes to what mario Kart has ofc
So excited to see what they end up building. I’m ready for another amazing coaster. 🙌
Yess!!! And one with a fast launch
you know these are cool and all but i think i speak for a lot of people when i say i want an original themed coaster!! no ip attachment required.
Same, I feel like both Universal and Disney do better when their rides have original themes. It's the reason why EPCOT and Animal Kingdom have so much potential.
it’s a long shot but UNIVERSAL GREAT MOVIE COASTER!!! just give us like two or three dark ride scenes of classic movies and a coaster while the main universal theme is playing, or maybe a rock/metal remix of it. this coaster will be behind the music plaza and will
Be visible from the globe, it should be a tribute to Universal, its history, and the fans.
After looking out your top grossing chart, I’m still floored Meet the Fockers made that much money.
How bout more theaters and tracks for Supercharged! 🔥
I wish Universal Studios had more roller coasters end of discussion❤❤
Wicked would be best as a land. It's Universal's sneaky way of building a Wizard of Oz land without MGM/Amazon/WB. Family friendly, proven to be a smash wherever it's put, they fully own the stage/book/film/TV rights to it. It's gonna be a full on land that's best described as an American Harry Potter Land
Your idea for back to the future is amazing that’s an incredible roller coaster concept
Ghostbusters would be an awesome choice for an outdoors theme park roller coaster!
Respectfully:
1. Universal can & should do so much better than a roller coaster for Wicked. I have to believe it’s already earmarked for a land @ Epic Universe yes?
2. BTTF coaster would be fun!
Wicked would be a better replacement for current Fast and Furious, Fast and Furious should be the replacement since a coaster just makes sense.
I dunno but something tells me that we’re getting an Illumination ride to replace this.
They can't put F&F in epic universe unless they build an entire land, which sounds very unlikely, so I can see it coming to Universal Studios as a "replacement" for the current ride
I do love this ride! Glad I rode it in Sept 2024 and again in May this year 👏
Sir, no. Wicked doesn’t deserve just a rollercoaster. It needs a land at Epic Universe or something cute like that with 2-3 proper dark rides or rollercoasters. ✨
absolutely not
you and poseidon entertainment are the best theme park channels im convinced
another fun vid, as always! xoxo 💋 😚 💋
Hey, that's me as Beetlejuice at Universal. A long time ago. Cool. Great video, good ideas.😂
i just love these thumbnails
I really enjoy rip ride rocket, I personally think it’s smoother than the hulk and many other coasters, it’s sad to see it go but it is definitely the right decision for universal
I think you're right in that Universal could strike while the iron is hot, but that might be too hasty to just throw a Wicked coaster plan together next year. That might deserve a bit more thought put into it. I honestly wouldn't be mad at any of these options though, there's actually a lot of potential for such a narrow space.
I hope it’s back to the future, it makes the most sense and think going 88mph is more realistic than you’d think
It better NOT get replace by a 3d/4d screen ride, and lets be honest they should have close fast and furious instead
Rumor is this new coaster with be Fast and Furious themed, which means Supercharged likely won’t be around for much longer.
They also should close King Kong cause both atractions are practicaly just clips extracted from the Studio Tour
@@giao2437 Totally agree. Bring back the better king kong ride: Kongfrontation. This is just coping but wow was that a good ride
The idea of listening to music while riding a rollercoaster is so awesome and strange how we dont see much. Take apart fast and furious and Jimmy Fallon first
For me simple. Do a The Office roller coaster 😂 Dunder Mifflin is in New York it fits.... Why a coaster? Idk Dwight?
Hoping the theme the brand new ride at Universal Studios, Orlando, Florida to wicked something new and fresh just universal and islands of adventure needs construction. Everything new at those two parks. I’m excited what’s to come for universal Studios Orlando amazing video happy New Year’s 🎆🎇
The Lost Continent will become the land of Oz. Rockit will be Ecto One
I'm glad I get to go one last time on this ride while we still have it
The top 2 ideas are Ghostbusters or Back to the Future, and I think Back to the Future is the most likely
My hope has always been an intamin king da ka replacement that was fast and furious themed. Doesn't hurt to dream 😂
Maybe they could replace Fast and Furious Supercharged with a Bad Guys attraction.
I would like Universal to do an FF roller coaster in USF if it means they close down the existing FF Supercharged, and maybe if they wanted to save money, they could salvage parts of the queue (mainly the display cars) from Supercharged, to the queue of the new roller coaster or something.
Minions is what I want replacing the rockit, please please please!
I'm hoping to ride "riride rocket" one last time when I come down in September, lol. Talk about cutting it close
Ghostbusters makes thematic sense yet Fast and Furious is another good one because then Universal can shudder Supercharged and that area can get another attraction there as a real replacement. I know Universal is still looking to put something to replace Supercharged.
I would like to see Kongfrontation, Earthquake, and Screen Test brought back into the park, they're the original attractions from the 90s.
i'm calling it now, it will be a family coaster thats yellow and be minion themed, and i mean family in lines of hagrids... it is already in the minion area.
I am hoping for a Minions Super Silly Fun Land coaster, love the Despicable me franchise.
Like a vector themed coaster?
Fast and Furious Supercharged by itself is a terrible attraction however as part of the overall tram tour it’s not that bad and no different from King Kong 4D.
Where you messed up is saying the sound stages they use for HHN is available space.
Rooting for Back to the Future, but for some reason I feel like it'll be Ghostbusters. Could Wicked end up replacing Springfield?
The replacement will be a Goastbuster Frozen Empire coster. Not that I actually know anything but to me that makes the most sense too me.
if you didnt know you can pick music on this ride and if you hold the screen for 10 seconds a secret menu will pop up but i dont know if it works or not
they definitely won’t do this but i would love if they stick with music theme. love the idea behind rockit and it could be such a cool ride. partner w spotify or something. idk how they could do that tho that’s above my pay grade 🤷♀️
I’ll be going to Universal Studios this year for Super Nintendo World, and I want to ride this ride since I won’t get the chance to ride it again, but it also looks to thrilling for me. What do you think?
Ghostbusters: Ectocoaster or Fast And Furious: New York Drift
This was a super rough coaster. Only one we opted not to reride after visiting the park again.
What's the point of them closing down the main building doe super charge in universal studios orlando?
Hear me out: Decepticoaster at Universal Studios Orlando? There’s one in China already so why not bring it here?
it has to be an original coaster
You know that’s just a clone of hulk right? Just themed to something else
I got a idea ,how about EARTH, WIND & FIRE Coaster?😊😊😊😊
I loved this ride so much. Rode it 4 times in a row cuz there was no line
But where are all the RMCs at?
It’s going to be a version of Fast & Furious (not the same as Hollywood’s version).
I say MINIONSSSSS!!!😂😂
as a joke i told my spouse they should just paint it green put three wicked songs as your playlist and call it a day. everyone would loathe it and it would make sooo much money. LOL (seriously if they do a wicked coaster it better be made with love)
I want a minions giga
The BTTF Broadway show just closed, sadly. It may continue to tour for a while, but hardly a juggernaut.
My best friend and I rode this coaster for the first time in May 2024 and I got off of it nauseous.
Possibly Wicked. Like an elfaba flight ride but I’m not sure if fans of Wicked would want it to be a roller coaster
