Olesya Novikova, of course. In the world's eyes, she hs been a principal for years. Too late the Mariinsky management caught up, but at least it happened. Very pleased to see Maria Ilyushkina promoted. A beautiful and versatile talent.
Definitely in Bolshoi, now after 1 year and some months of this video the biggest revelation is kokoreva.. She is grown more than everyone else, she should be next prima.. Really deep soul, strong, effortless, light, beauty.. No worlds to describe this angel..
Superlativi.Bighin Giulio Renzo. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Wonderful to see such a technically and artistically talented group coming to greater prominence. Ilyushkina has a particularly lovely quality of movement. (Like many other commentators, I put Novikova in a separate category as she should have been promoted years ago). Thanks for taking the time to put together this compilation and for your detailed notes and links.
Bighin Giulio Renzo. 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
Novikova is ap beautiful and dainty. And she also has like three or four kids. The reason why it took her so long to get promoted because she kept her legs closed. I applaud her for it she's a wonderful dancer and the wonderful woman
Would like to see Klim Efimov's wife, Ksenia Zhiganshina, promoted to a higher-ranked soloist. Many ranked above her would not be able to do the difficult parts she performs so well.
They are all beautiful, well deserved. May I ask a question please. At the moment I’m watching Novikova, stunningly beautiful. It says she joined in 2002 - is that a typo or correct, just seems unusual that’s all. Extremely well deserved though. Thank you 👵👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
I feel sorry for Egor. I’m a bit of an engrained old lady here. He did a lovely job but, to me, Vasiliev beats all! Just my opinion folks. Saw him with Natalia Osipova a few years back and I love the pair of them. I know they’re not dancing together anymore ( I think Vasiliev retired, no wonder - the strain on his back!) But , together and separately, they’re superb. 🩰🩰🩰👵👵👵🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
Tzeskcharidze tought Gerashenko well, although his very teacher says that he is a terrible person and a rat and thats how he got so high up, and he didnt want to take him to the Vaganova into his class from the Moskow school of ballet. He says that he cant be a good partner pas du diux. But he really doesn't look bad honestly. Although I rarely see dancers as good as tzeskcharidze when he was still performing
Mikchailovskiy ballerinas are like fairies- so light and airy, really like them, love the prima Angelina Vorontsova very much as well as Ivan Vasiliev. But bolshoi promotes Gerashenko? Look what his own teacher, the People's Artist of Russia, Nicolay Tzeschoridze, one of the best dances ever, says about him. He only got his promptions by ratting out and betraying other people
Firstly, there are many Russian dancers who are better than Tsiskaridze was, who are not People's Artists of Russia. I imagine more than talent is considered - perhaps longevity, contributions, and connections (as he has) go into that honor as well. I am certainly open to being corrected if I am wrong about that. Secondly, he is far from one of the best dancers ever. Of course he was good enough to reach principal status at the Bolshoi; however, judging by excerpts I have seen, his technique was sloppy, he was a self-absorbed partner that deterred from the connection between partners, and had a strange nuance on stage. Most importantly, his habit of publicly criticising young dancers, including his own students, is abhorrent, in my view, especially as the artistic director of the Vaganova Academy in charge of young students. As an artistic director and teacher, of course, he can criticize them privately but not publicly. I've watched Igor Gerashchenko as much as one can in excerpts we are privileged to see on the internet. He has developed into an amazing dancer, with more masculine stage presence and far better technique than Tsiskaridze had on stage. That is not to say Tsiskaridze is devoid of talent. Reaching principal status at the Bolshoi, obviously involves talent. Also, despite the inappropriate way he was catapulted into the Vaganova Academy after his contract at the Bolshoi was not renewed because of his appalling public behavior, he is apparently doing very well at the Vaganova Academy, is well liked, and certainly is producing great male dancers. His ballet exams are a vision of choreographic and musical excellence. I just wish he'd show the kind of professionalism one expects from someone in his position and refrain from publicly and individually tearing apart young dancers. I sometimes wonder if jealousy is behind this inappropriate habit.
@@normamimosa5991 ummm examples??? With his proportions? Level of artistism? The arches? The ability to do splits in the air'??? It's not only what you doing your own you also have to be able to be a good partner. Somehow Galina Ulanova and Marina Semionava chose him. Pyotr Pestov considered him the best. Grigorovich took him into the theater although there were no spots left and put him as number 1 by manually putting his name down? He had no previous ties with ballet. He achieved his fame based on his talent, not connections. He is very smart and adequate. Have you watched any of his interviews. He breathes ballet. He is like a walking encyclopedia. He has great morals as well
@@normamimosa5991 and i do agree with you about him publicAlly criticizing his students. But he left bolshoy on his own. And was asked by the president to make things right in the vaganova. Since that things really started to fall apart. And he really lifted the shcool up to different level. There were a lot of conspiracies taking place at bolshoy at the time. It was all over money. When he said that renovation that was done was a lot cheaper then what it says on paper and $ was simply stolen, a lot of peoole in the office sector of the company got upset. Truth hurts. They fired Alexander Vasiliev and Grigorocich. When they were in charge of the creation process. Those times were not easy. I'm the same way- if I see the somone goes against the objective morals of right and wrong, I choose not to sit there quietly. I prefer to point that out to people so they dont do the same. My mom makes fun of me and calla me don Quixote, and that i fight against the windmills for the ideals that are no longer there lol But I dont mind doing so
@Norma Mimosa Yes, the things he says about not only young dancers but his own students are disgusting. Maybe he should have trained them better if he thinks they're so bad. Not that he was anything to write home about
Must agree, I was astonished about Ziskaridse critics to Gerashenko. That was not correct speaking like this! The jury (exam) is without Ziskaridse. Perhaps in this times his engagement into the bolshoi was doing with connection and money. But on stage and in classe that doesn´t mean nothing. I know it is difficult to learn by a teacher who dont like you. I hope in the Vaganova Akademie the staff can stop betraing and intruiging between th pupils. But nevertheless Ziskaridse was an excellent principal. Some people dislike his elegance and his type, so I say like Smirnova "look to another".Molkanova critics is far to harsh.
Oksana Skorik is a once-in-a-lifetime ballerina with superb talent, impeccable technique, incredible flexibility, steely strong, along with beautiful fluidity. Her body is perfect for ballet: tall, long limbs, thin, long neck. Her talent, right now, is unsurpassed. So beautiful her technique and fluidity that much of the artistry in her performances, as it should be in ballet, is within her body movements. As she gained more and more experience, her artistry improved and now shines. That journey is true for every top dancer. Without exception, great artistry develops, as stage experience grows. As for stating that her face is not good for ballet, that, in my view, is pure bullying. There is absolutely nothing wrong with her face. I have problems with May Nagahisa's dancing. It is far too Asian for my sensibility and fails to fully embrace the Russian style. Overly refined it has little to do with the work of other dancers in the company. May N. isn't the only Asian performer here in the West who does this. Admittedly she is highly accomplished but, as I say, is far too refined. I watched a Vaganova video of a teaching session of young men soon to graduate from the Academy and the internationally renowned professor who runs the school was visibly upset that his Asian pupil was performing outside of Western sensibilities. He rightfully sighed: 'I must drive the Asian out of your dancing.' I feel the same impatience. With that said, if one held to my high standards there would be too few ballet dancers gracing Russian stages.
May Nagahisa is such a gem~Pure as a waterdrop and light as a feather!
I am so glad for Olesya Novikova! As a fact she deserved to be a prima for ten years as minimum.
She is a league of her own )))
I thought she was promoted a long time age, she's fantastic 😒
Yeees

Bolshoi has two new young talents promoted to first soloist! Elizaveta Kokoreva and Eva Sergeyenkova!
Bellissima questa raccolta di balletti.... Grazie tantissime per aver inserito questo video

Klims body is very interesting. I like it. I'm sure with enough practice and a good Mentor he will turn out well
Thank you for this presentation with the mikhailivsky dancers! This coryphees are unbeleavable good. 😍🤩 A nice Lise!

Sevenard is so feminine. I love it
Yulia Lykianinko proportions and arches remind me of Svetlana Zaharova
lmfao wasn't expecting the sex ballet halfway through

Kokareva is quite charismatic but her arms are terrible and she looks so sloppy
Boring, boring, bored.
Good technique.
Zero emotions.
