Hendra setiawan and mohd. Ahsan in 2019.
Becoming world champs at the age of 32 and 35 is something else.
But my favorite match will be the 2009 finals as it's the most entertaining match for me

Aaron chia/soh wooi yik cuz they always fail to win all of world tour title, so they weren't expected to win that. But they gave a shocking result last year by winning world championship for the first time after 45 years!.Malaysia would've still ranked 13th instead of 9th for the tally of its medal if they hadn't won that
Cai/Fu may have had the dominance, but Ahsan/Setiawan definitely epitomizes longevity.

I notice how major events of men's doubles from 2006-2016 were dominated by either Fu Hai Feng (with Cai Yun and Zhang Nan) or Hendra Setiawan (with Kido and Ahsan).

Correct, the World Badminton Federation (WBF) organized the World Championships in 1978 and 1979, which were not recognized by the International Badminton Federation (IBF) at the time. It wasn't until 1980, when the two organizations merged, that they began to unify.
The only final without Asian rep was in 1983 Denmark VS England! That’s why the prize money gap between tennis vs badminton is still a huge gap!
