@16:16 you mentioned the Z having round ports on the head and you can't use the headers, but the stock headers CLEARLY show exhaust coming out of a square port and the stock headers look extremely restrictive. Double check the actual head. It definitely looks like you can use those headers @Matt Carriker
I also came here to say this, I have not worked with this motor but the stock manifold sure does look like its being hit by exhaust from a larger square port. Those headers will look and sound great on that car if they do fit.
Keep the existing body panels with all the holes in them. Clear coat to prevent rust. All the holes in the body would be cool looking on a rebuilt working hummer. Love the content.
Tacticon Armament (you mentioned in your mail) is who made my battle belt, which I really like. They're a vet owned company with some great products, worth checking out.
Some advice on throwing a boomerang from an Aussie... Start by holding the Boomerang up vertically, in line with "12 o'clock". Then, if Right handed, angle your wrist so that the Boomerang is at "2 o'clock". (For Lefty's, it's "10 o'clock"), then throw. It should return. Also, only attempt to catch it if wearing a helmet and gloves (at least initially, cos you can mess yourself up if you can't catch it).
Hydro seed (spray on grass) the berm easier and better result. Seeds are coated in everything they need to get started and stop things eating them too. It's looking cool!

I'm not sure if anyones mentioned it yet Matt but a driving range for golf would be amazing! Probably don't have to worry about green grass, artificial turf or even just the ground would be perfect. Would be a great activity for guests. And if not, maybe an indoor simulator
You’re best bet is to lay sod on the berm bc it’ll keep the soil from eroding. They’ll tack it down. Too bad you weren’t able to build a Hugelkultur bank on top of the berm. You build up banks of trees/branches etc, pack that with dirt then plant it. The wood retains water, breaks down/composts & the bank feeds/waters itself. All the stone underneath would be perfect drainage.

Ive worked in hydroseeding for the ski slopes in utah actually, its a simple process. Glue, seed, water and this weird fiber stuff gets mixed in a rig and the rig has a nozzle that can shoot the mixture 80 feet in some cases

For the grass on the berm, I'd say go with the roll out mats. I'm sure the spray on stuff works well too but, given the slope of your berm, I'd be worried the rain would wash it off. The mats can be rolled down vertically and anchored at the top. Not a professional in that in any regards, just a thought I had. Keep up the great work!
Since the Ranch is so large I would recommend fixing the hummer and building a passenger trailer/tram for it. That way you can move a bunch of people around the property at one go.

Spraying the berm with grass seed is called hydroseeding, personally I recommend picking up some straw seed blankets from lows it will help with erosion you can hydroseed over it for a fast full lawn
7:55 the “mats” your referring too our called straw blankets. I use to work for a company that made them. Might be able to get you a connection. The other process is called hydro seeding.
I have a story about the first "prototype" Hummers. I worked for Deutz (German Diesel Engine manufacturer) and one of OUR air-cooled engines was in the running. 5-cylinder turbo. Outperformed everything else, only engine that kept running after all the others were shredded (all nose in to a BIG blast of shrapnel). Politics at the time dictated a US made engine though. We had two of two made, I still wonder what happened to the other one... 🤔
There is a way around the made in the US requirement, you set up a production facility somewhere in the US. That's what FN does in order to get the weapons contracts that they have.

Mat the range day looked successful, I did noticed a couple of bullets hitting the top of the berm , you may need to raise the firing line by a foot, that way people are firing down at the target.
Mere finally found out about the lost GoPro 😂. Hopefully not as they always seemed great together. She was in a video a month or two back as was at least one kiddo.
Matt I have a couple boomerangs and found out there is a very specific way to throw it to get it to come back to you! much easier to look up a tutorial than for me to explain it here, as well as it was years ago so its probably wrong in my head, but definitely need to look into them!
Hey Matt maybe get a snatch block for the winch. It comes in handy moving cars on to the bed that doesn’t steer. I use to run a rollback. It was my best friend.
Matt, use erosion control netting with grass seeds for germination on your berm. Theres commercial sized netting for you needs. My company uses it all the time on our commercial buildings on high grades right outside of Boston

Clover may be a good option for the berm. I'm not sure how it does in Texas, but it's cheaper, requires less water and maintenance, and is easier to plant than grass. Also helps out pollinators.

I'd suggest you hydoseed the berms as it works very well (if you keep it watered after). Sticks to slopes very well.
