- Edelbrock 750 carb install on dads 70 Camaro SS with V8 350. Getting all the linkages hooked up and ready to go. Also some info we about the engine.
Things that might help with a project like this:
Edelbrock 750 Carb: amzn.to/2Uc5VU4
Throttle Ball Assortment: amzn.to/2PedndH

Okay, finally, this video helped me identify the name of the "throttle cable". I am a total noob to transmissions and carbs. I have a 79 Dodge B300 360ci with a 1406 625CFM Carter AFB/Edelbrock. I've had ZERO success finding any vacuum diagrams or linkage info. It's like everyone in the car world assumes that everyone is a genius to this stuff. This is my first vehicle that has a carb.
I don't even know what a b300 is. The throttle cable should be pretty easy to figure out unless your cable is missing. As far as vacuum lines in 79 I would think the distributor will need one and possibly your brake booster if you aren't pulling vacuum from the intake. Sorry I can't be more help. I work mostly on GM vehicles.
The switch on the throttle pedal assembly opened a cowl vent on cowl induction models... Have a great day...
Glad someone knows what they are talking about lol
I have ran the return spring from the big loop on top of the linkage to the front of the motor, attaching it to a bracket that usually is mounted to the intake. Nice job so far!
I have seen that before. I didn't want a big spring going forward to keep a cleaner look.
Edalbrock carbs need 6 to 6&a half fuel flow to the carb to be good just a heads up God bless from Canada nice project guys to bad it's not a Mopar but AT least it's American eh !
Top port is timed vacuum advance bottom port goes to transmission modulator valve
Should've put a AVS2 650 cfm carb
I believe you need vacuum at idle. I know on my old ford to time it I need to disconnect the vacuum line from the vacuum advance.
Yup, we have fired it up :)
750 is most likely too large for your aplication
Great project! Will you have this engine dyno? If so, it would be great if you could take us along!
We don't have a shop with a dyno very close to us. It doesn't really matter how much hp it has. We are going to enjoy whatever we have.
I like quadrajets when they work properly! The new carb looks great.
That is what I hear :) This one worked fine 20 years ago when dad bought the car but I imagine it would need at least a good cleaning inside. I think it will just be easier to get a new carb. Maybe??
Randy, I ran a Holley Three Barrel on my 68 Z28. It pushed 950 CFM and I had zero problems with the performance other than holding on to the steering wheel real tight with my foot in it.
Yup, 750 should be fine. I just hope the fuel pump can keep up. Wasn't thinking we were going to run a 750. So far it's running great :)
Is you vacuum advance still hooked up on the driver side port???
What does a kickdown cable doo?
When you push the gas down hard it will pull the kickdown cable and the trans will downshift.
mossman381 i have a 1982 trans am 305 think it has 700r4? Installed edelbrock avs 2 1906 definitely need tv cable adapter #8026 i think
I wish I could tell you what you need but really not sure. 70 and 82 are a lot of years apart.
mossman381 thanks anyway!
Is that an lt1 car
No, this isn't a Z28 is an SS.
