Let's not ignore the massive glow up Don Krieg, Gin and Pearl had. They went from fleeing the Grandline with their tail between their legs to getting to Hachinosu, an island in the New World. At least I think it's Hachinosu.
Tbf he wasn't an easy fight for luffy and just got super unlucky running into Mihawk. They could have gone far at full strength without mihawk there.

With regards to what Vegapunk said at the end -
In Japanese, there are two ways to write the sound ‘mo’
1. も (a word, or start of a word)
^ this is hiragana, the native script used for native Japanese words
2. モ (literally the sound mo)
^ This is katakana, used mostly for sound effects OR foreign words (English or any other language, even made up words like Vegapunk is written in this exact same script)
In this chapter, mo was written も。
When mo is written this way, on its own, it can be translated as “also”. But assuming it’s part of a larger word, all we know is that it will be a *Japanese* word starting with the sound mo.
If it were written モ, then that means no matter if it is in English or Japanese, the word Vegapunk was going to say starts with a mo sound.
But what if he was going to say a very Japanese name? As in "ask Momonosuke" or something of the sorts...

モモ is the word for peach (also exist in Kanji), の (no) is the possessif and 助 (suke) is the Kanji for help.
So Momonosuke is the "help from the peach", a reference to the folklore character of Momotaro, a boy born from a peach (with this time "momo" is writen in Kanji form).

In other words, if Vegapunk was about to say Momonosuke, it would’ve started with モ, but it doesn’t, it starts with も.
Also good to note, almost every single character’s name is written in Katakana, the script we don’t see in the last speech bubble of Vegapunk’s.
I wonder what Krieg, Gin and Pearl think about the Strawhats, they must be pretty goda-damn humbled. I mean even when they entered the Grand Line (presumably via Reverse Mountain), the first thing they must have seen was Laboon with Luffy's jolly roger. And reading all the newspaper articles, from Enies Lobby to Marineford to Big Mom and Kaido, it just never stops.

I agree that Vegapunk has a backup plan for when the broadcast stopped abruptly. My favorite theory of mine now is, that the broadcast would appear again somehow and that York unwilling is the one to broadcast it signaling the elders to take her out. It could also be that the other satellites know what the truth is too, and that they will find a way to reopen the broadcast. If it's none of the above then, we may never know.

Just something about two elite swordsmen crossing blades is so epic.
All the information Vegapunk revealed pales in comparison to the fact we now know what happened to Don Krieg, especially Gin, and even Pearl.
I was surprised Zoro was able to send the elder flying with only a 2 sword style attack. It could just be that the elder underestimated his strength but either way it was cool to see
I mean Nusjuro only blocked with one hand. While Zoro used a full fledged named attack just for them to get equally blown back. Now imagine if Nusjuro pulled a named attack.

So idk if anyone else is picking up on this, but I’m sensing another crew separation coming up.
1 - this arc parallels sabaody and the crew separated there
2 - the crew is currently split in two. Luffy’s group has less SHs but has bonney and atlas.
3 - there is a sense of urgency to leave immediately and the crew is nowhere near grouped
4 - there are two ships that can be used to exit the island with both groups near one. I would hope everyone meets on elbaf, but they might arrive at different times.

9:40 I DEFINITELY agree with that because I also think Ethan Baron has been changing sizes himself, so his sword shifts sizes as he does.
I love that Zoro was denied cutting down Charles so Oda gave him the next best thing with Nusjuro being a future opponent.

There are times where Oda speaks directly to the anime team to give them clarification on parts in the manga that haven’t been made clear yet, and he has done so once or twice with the english translator of the manga. Hopefully this can be one of those moments where the anime and english translation shed a bit more light on this situation
I find it interesting that, just like how he missed Whitebeard’s reveal of the one piece, Luffy is very conveniently missing this major Will of D lore drop, as well as the entire broadcast seemingly
Wild thought/theory: what if Luffy doesn't become king of the pirates? I don't mean someone else takes it or Luffy dies. I mean what if he discovers at laughtale that giving up being king of the pirates ends of fulfilling his bigger deeper goal that he thought being king of the pirates would get him?
The idea comes from Koby actually. His dream to become an admiral was based on a deeper goal as well. I think the idea of Koby working his way up and being offered a chance to become admiral, possibly as a reward for stopping/ending a weakened Luffy, that he turns it down and switches sides. Stating that his true goal is to fight the suffering and sadness in the world.
That idea is completely reasonable and can be a turning point that makes a large swath of the marines switch sides to fight a bigger truer evil. Especially when compared to Luffy.
Now if that is reasonable, I can see Luffy having the same arc when he gets too the one piece, especially if there is a fight going on right there. The big bad guy tries to use the one piece and take over claiming that there is nothing that luffy can do. Then luffy destroys whatever is there that is significant enough to grant one the title of King of the Pirates. And as Luffy is destroying it, that is when Luffy reveals the true goal that he had since a child that mimicked Gol D. Roger's goal. Saying something that if he had to pick between that goal and king of the pirates, then he will not only give up on being king of the pirates, but stop anyone else from stopping his real goal.
I'm not saying that this is true but it would be an amazing way for the final fight to get to its last stage. Instead of "I'm going to be king of the Pirates!" Luffy takes a big breath and shouts out his deeper goal for all to hear, causing all onlookers to go wide eyed in shock. Yes it's a silly and stupid dream but with everything going on, they all believe he can actually do it. All except the villian and that's exactly why the villian is a villian at his core. Not only does he think that the goal is stupid and silly, but he is certain that it is so stupid that he actively fights against it. Ultimate freedom vs complete slavery, who will win? Or some other similar concept.

@@chiefdenis youre right as much as we, the readers, know. However, thru the entire story it has been shown, but not stated, that it's not what you do but how the world precieved what you do. Noone else knew that Gol. D Roger really found, and the person at his execution wanted to know if Roger found the world's greatest treasure. When he confirmed that he "left it all at that place" it was then linked by the populous that getting that treasure = becoming king of the pirates.
Now that said what if the big bad villian is ancient, void century ancient, Imu ancient... their perspective may be something else, probably power and being able to enforce their will on the world. While that treasure does indicate "you've become the king of the pirates" it could also be a tool of taking over the world.
Luffy's perspective of king of the pirates is the freeist man in the world. and don't forget, becoming king of the pirates "as luffy's perspective, was the step before completing his ultimate goal. By using perspective, Luffy can destroy the treasure and believe he gave up being king of the pirates, probably because that's what the villain said it would mean, and still get a post arc newspaper that proclaims him to be "the king of the pirates."
Zoro has JUST fought Lucci and is immediately able to deflect Ethan’s attack.

I like to think Smoker was out training. He’s always had a “don’t cry about it, get stronger” attitude and after losing so many times AND being betrayed at the same time, he has a lot to cry about. Let’s bring back Smoker as a powerhouse!!

We finally get to see a Strawhat 1v1 a Gorosei without getting oneshotted after their sneak attack or running away. These back and forth blows will be legendary. 🔥
How was sanji one shot when we see he’s up and fine this chapter lmfao. Sanji snuck and made Venus bleed and Venus broke sanji bones and they both healed like it was nothing. Venus used a no name attack and zoro used a stronger version of his strongest two sword style attack and they were both pushed back. I see this as nothing but equal love for both sanji and zoro the wings are coming in clutch consistently

The last time we saw Don Krieg and Gin was around 24 years ago, that make me feel more old then the 18 years since the Going Merry. All that is 2-3 years in world time.

There hasn’t been anything shown in vegapunks message that would need a visual yet so hopefully there is something he needed to show either a piece of evidence or a live camera view of the elders.
I just thought of something. What's in the iron giant is just a signal relay point, and the actual transponder snail is hidden inside Vegapunk's head, just like how Brook stores things in his skull. That's how it was able to identify when he died and start the broadcast.
Also Jinbei throw Zoro like a baseball thats reference to Marvel every time some big characters like The Thing or Colossus throw Wolverine they called it "Fast Ball Special'

Theres also a drawing error when Nusjuro draws his blade. From the panel of him drawing it to the panel of the clash, Nusjuro swapped what hand he is wielding the sword with.
He went from an attack move to a block with the opposite hand, that's not an error.

How did the Krieg Pirates get there, especially when Gin was dying from poison?
They were found, captured, and healed by Marines. Later they were rescued and recruited by Grand Line pirates who needed to replenish their numbers.
Krieg may have gone from admiral to deckhand, but he also went from a shopping boat in East Blue to Pirate Island in the New World. (And I doubt he remained a mere deckhand for long.)

Oh yeah I was very happy to see Krieg and Gin...and Pearl I guess. Krieg looks like a proper badass. Zoro vs Nasujuro clash was amazing, with the Kitetsu acknowledgement, it's basically confirmed that Nasujuro has the Shodai Kitetsu. Good stuff.
