Really inspirational, I’m a couple minutes in and already hooked
You are %100 right man! As a black man I gravitated to your channel right away when I got interested in tech. I struggle with the idea of being a black man and leaving the fire service for tech one day. (Because I’ve never met a black developer) You motivate us all, and I thank you! Keep creating my friend!! I’ll be full a full time developer one day because of you man!!
Yooo this comment hit home. I blasted it on my socials! You're not the first person who promised me they'd be a dev one day. Theres no better feeling as a creator when you come back and tell me you got your first job! Keep after it and be sure to hit me up in discord or on insta if you have code / career questions.
There’s a lot of us out here. You can do it and you’ll love it.
Great energy in this interview! It was like you guys grew up together or something like that.
Yeah something like that lol
I'm a Graphic Designer and I'm taking programming courses at school. I love hearing an interview from another Graphic Designer that went to Developping. I enjoy the video.
I love that! ‘Don’t be afraid to be mediocre’. Sums it up perfectly!
‘Perfection lies in mediocrity’!!!!!
I think that’s the biggest take away from this! Most people are too afraid to fail that they miss great opportunities!
You're telling the truth sha. Fear of failure has held me back from achieving so much. But no more. The stakes are a little higher for me because I got a wife and child but I believe in God that we'll be okay.
that advice "do not afraid to be mediocre"
is really great advice
because you know you love developing and your not gonna be mediocre one day
that is inspiring ..
Hey Jeremiah. I can't say it enough and really appreciate this content (seeing black ppl share success in getting into Tech). It's content like this that I have playing in the background, or listening while cleaning to keep me inspired on my journey to grow and push myself to learn. Self-taught programmer is what I am, and now I have proof I can make it.
You better make it. I’m looking forward to it! Drop by our developer discord and let me know if you need help in your journey
Actually inspiring for me. I have doubts in myself sometimes that I won’t be a developer until I get a developer job but u just made me understand a developer is someone who actually creates. Im gonna take this on my journey thank you!!
Good luck on your journey mate. Confidence in yourself goes a long way.
Loved this video! Super relatable/inspiring story.
Also, does your brother have a UA-cam channel? He should totally start one if not!
this is awesome. Inspiring to hear peoples stories - thanks Jeremiah!
Thanks for sharing it ❤
love the synergy here
Thank you both for this talk! Thanks for also mentioning the importance of bringing “differentness” into Tech, Jeremiah and Josiah 💛✨
Absolutely, Josiah is my hero
this is a great interview its refreshing to see people (peoples lol) that look like me and to see that it is possible to become a developer im currently taking the colt steele course so thank you
I’m inspired and motivated. Thank you guys for grinding and paving the way 💪🏾
This was great 👍🏾.
Thanks for this
Glad you enjoyed it!
So great hearing this story.
His story inspired me to get started. I hope it does the same for others.
I love this video so much ❤ I'm already in tech but currently not in Software development. I'm learning right now and you guys inspire me
He just got laid off…. And then he got another job as a designer! Buddy is goated
Very interesting and inspirational journey! Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watchin!
This interview was amazing, not even exaggerating it was great energy I think others would like to see even if they weren’t interested into coding. I feel an interesting person to interview regarding this field would be frank niu from TikTok
This was fun to watch. Shout out to you and big bro.
I have another brother interviewing with epic games. If he gets it, I’ll do another video like this!!
I like you guys, I feel very relax while watching you guys videos!
Thank you! We also just started a more regular podcast with my four brothers. Check out our channel youtube.com/@wethepeoplespod
Your brother was very inspirational, gave me the final bit of motivation I needed to start the Udemy web dev bootcamp.
Hows it going for you?
Love the video ! I’m actually taking the web developer boot camp by colt Steele that you recommended in another video ! I’m hopefully going to obtain my first software engineer position later this years or next year ! Thanks for the inspiration!
That is awesome! How are you liking the course so far?
3:08 😅 Brothers lol , the vibe
Couple minutes in and I'm sold
Very inspirational. Great to see black people in the industry shedding light on their journey. Keep up the great work.
Great interview.
Thank ya!
Lol I love the personality!
About time! You really made us wait lol
Traveling and making videos is harder than I though
Really insightful 🥂
Great content as usual......
Like the fact that continued learning is emphasized in this industry........
Learning don’t stop. I just finished my DSA studies
@@JeremiahPeoples what's DSA?

Thank you
You're welcome
Dat keyboard in the background 👀 suh-sweet!
Best keyboard I’ve ever used
Hey Jeremiah, you look like the main character on the popular Netflix Archive 81 series! At first I thought you were him and I got so intrigued thinking he was a programmer! Btw great vid
Lmao I keep hearing that!
What an inspirational video! I am at a crossroads too because even though I like my current career, I know it wont give me the life I want to provide for my family as well as the flexibility. How old is your brother now?
He’s 34 now. The life that tech buys you is honestly insane!
@@JeremiahPeoples Thank you for the response! I am a third way done with my bootcamp. Getting into frameworks now after completing HTML, CSS, and JS! I want to work with people and making tech easier for folks so I am looking to customer support engineering, curriculum development, and technical writing. Something that combines all 3 lol
Austin, woot!
I think I'll move there myself
@@JeremiahPeoples Come one, come all! ;)
👍🏻👍🏻
This cat has hands like dinner plates 👑
how are you peoples so smart
Our parents are awesome
he kinda looks like chris rock in his newest special
This is really interesting. What course will you recommend for one who wants to become a Frontend Developer.
I dab!
Glad you liked it. I took this course: jeremiahpeoples.com/web-dev-course
Hi I need a great game developer. Please let me know if you could help.
Mr mosbey is your brother?
Am not even Joking and No HOMO , I'd love this guy as a friend , a brother hood!! He won't just only inspire you for Greatness , His energy is just out there !!
I’ll let him know 😂
Hello sir, I want to ask that is software engineering hard for a 19 year old boy to learn. Pls help me out
Nope that’s when most people start their cs studies ( college first years)
Do programmers focus on 1 language or study all languages? In yorlur case what languages are you working with? Your fan from 🇲🇦 morocco
I know you didn’t directly ask me, but one could learn multiple languages for different projects. It all depends on what kind of projects you would like to work on.
If you are interested in Machine Learning or Deep Learning, then Python might be your guy. If enterprise software is your passion, then it might be wise to learn C# and Java. If web dev is your route, then you may want to learn JavaScript, PHP and Java - alongside their frameworks. If you are interested in building software for electronics and machines, then C++ is ideal for writing embedded software.
At the end of the day, it just depends on which branch of tech you see yourself.
Can you add Turkish subtitles to all videos?
Hmm I'll look into it
He looks alot like Godfrey???
Bro! How OLD is Josiah?! I’m out here thinking, hmmm he looks around my age. 29/30. But then he started talking about how he was using photoshop in 2002/2003. My guy. You’re either 29/30 or 50. Which is it bro? #BlackDontCrack to the MAX!
I have no idea! Like 35 or something 🤷🏾♂️
@@JeremiahPeoples this guy 😂😂😂
By the way, you got me so gassed up about being a developer that (God) helped me secure a place on a graduate scheme and I have never written a single code a day in my life or know ANYTHING intricate about it (other than watching a few vids here and there -mainly yours).
Needless to say, I’m definitely going on for the ride.
I’ve made a deal with myself: I’ll do it for 6 months and see if it’s for me. I’m literally going to be getting paid to learn one of the most coveted skill set of our generation. LOOK @ God!
Edit: leaving this space here to check in again in 6 months to update Peoples’s community!
@@timi8704 ohhh this is awesome! Be sure to come back and tell us how it’s going
@@timi8704 I have also decided to teach myself how to code. I’m looking forward to hearing an update on your journey! Wishing you the best of luck :)
@@raeg410 Might as well give an early update: I was given 6 weeks of technical training at the current company I'm with and then, the plan is to put me on projects and start building practical experience.
In 6 weeks, I covered HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript. Responsive Web Design, Bootstrap (I'm not sure why they didn't cover tailwind as opposed to bootstrap but whatever - swiftly moving on...) SCSS/Sass. Also covered React as a Single page application framework, React-Redux, NodeJS and MongoDB. (They're now talking about Axios, probably Java and Spring Boot).
My thoughts/feelings so far:
.... coding is probably the most frustrating but most rewarding thing I've ever done, career wise. For example, I was working until 2:30am on a problem. But the release I received after solving the problem is indescribable. It makes it all worth it. Lets just say I could see how and why people can get addicted to this.
And to keep it real, I don't have a technical background . I don't even consider myself as "smart". So it's been wonderful to be exposed to these tech stacks. To even have an idea of what any of the ones I've mentioned above are, beyond the superficial level is something that I'm proud of. I'm beyond grateful.
But realistically, I think everyone knows it's going to take someone without any previous experience more than 6 weeks to become a Junior let alone mid-level developer. Unless they're naturally gifted and have an unbelievable amount of assimilation capability.
Overall, I'm super grateful to have been exposed to these techs because now I know how to study. For now, I'm just doing self pace study on specific techs that are related to my project. Most of my learning day is now split between CSS, JavaScript and React. (HTML is super simple. Having an understanding of how it works is the most important aspect. And you could probably learn that in a day. As for the elements and etc, you can google those. Copy and paste job lol).
I've now come to learn that being proficient in React and NodeJS is dependant on me having more than a basic level of JavaScript understanding. So while it's great that I can have a conversation about these glorious tech stacks that I listed above and look /sound "smart" to people, I know I am still very clueless so I'm going back to basics because I'm not a superficial guy.
Raven, I think learning to code is one of the best investment you could make in yourself. Put it like this: having this skill set (and continuing to develop it as this digital age evolves) means you will probably never have to worry about income ever again in your life so the stability is there. Although, getting the income is cool and etc but it's beyond that for me. I want to learn this skill so that I can teach my son. And also help a certain group of people with their digital transformation free of charge.
But understand this: get comfortable with being uncomfortable. If you're not mentally prepared to be stuck, you will falter very quickly and give up. You need to have a very strong reason(s) as to why you want to do this. Bear in mind "strong" is subjective. It only needs to be strong to YOU.
Please let me know if you need some practical tips on how to study with some resources. I have tons to share. I don’t use discord like that but, I'd even be happy to connect on there and hop on a call (or which ever platform you prefer) and share everything I've learnt so far.
🤦♂️💤💤
Is the million dollar thing sarcastic? I seriously can't tell
Lmao yes yes it is
