Watching someone close to me study medicine helped me realize that even after 10 years, doctors don’t know it all and have to continuously improve and research and that’s the method I plan to use.
I’m new to tech and still a student and after 3 weeks of focused and immersed learning, something just randomly clicked!! Then all of a sudden, these technologies and services have begun to flow. I’m at the stage of beginning to understand what I don’t know and I’m grateful for where I am.

Man, i really needed to hear this. Been struggling with imposter syndrome for weeks now. Somehow, even though I kinda know what I need to do. It's comforting to hear it from another person. Being uncomfortable is good, and its how I use that feeling to prove to myself that I am or can be better a developer.
This is great content, I love how you told a time where you've went through something similar. It's so relatable and comforting to know I'm not alone feeling like this, thanks man.

As a web developer designer I feel that a lot. How I deal with it in a healthy way is maybe there is some truth to it, maybe it’s revealing a skill set that I need to learn or improve. When I look at it honestly I get motivated to learn the language that I feel I’m lacking, causing my impostor syndrome, but I have to be careful. We all know no one person knows everything about the web or coding so I tried to take a realistic look at my skills, and look at what I can improve on, along with my strengths. Try not to compare myself to others. There is always going to be somebody who knows more about a certain code than I do, but I have to keep in mind that I may know more about some other aspect than they do, if I’m getting imposter syndrome from looking at everybody and feeling that I need to be perfect and the best, that’s unrealistic thinking and is going to cause me nothing but pain. In addition, I try to be honest with myself and my clients about my skill set. If I need to hire another developer to help me with the project, I will. I have to remember it’s about getting the job done for my client and not feeding my ego.

Yup...been a dev for 10 year now. I'm a senior and I daily feel like "I should be way better than I am"...it's draining. Mainly because I always feel like there's things that I SHOULD know but don't...and everyone around me seems to pick up things much faster. Not sure if I'm imagining it. I worked at IBM for over 6 years but still feel like I don't know a ton. Been at my current job for 2 years as a React Frontend developer and still feel like a junior..it's crazy. But I guess I'm not horrible...but I feel like my personality gets me further than my actual development skills do.

Awesome video. The only thing I did not agree with is that you mention that impostor syndrome goes away with time. Impostor syndrome will kick in even if you have 20 years of experience. Because you will eventually move to a new team, technology, role or company which will trigger your impostor syndrome. If you never feel impostor syndrome, I would challenge you if you are doing things outside of your comfort zone or just doing the same type of tasks over and over again. As you mentioned in the video, there are ways to reduce the impostor syndrome episodes and that is to work on yourself, you mentioned some good points in this video :)

My biggest fear is that someone's going to hire me in tech only because I'm a woman and I won't know anything and I'll make a complete fool of myself. In my pervious jobs/career I knew what I'm doing at ''all'' times. In tech however, I feel like I never know enough. I guess I need to get comfortable sitting in the feeling of being uncomfortable.
