@@Master_Mind-d6k please check for any software update on the phone. If so you may try to update the os and then try. Sometimes a reset may fix some issues. Take backup before resetting the phone.
You can set this to file transfer and then switch the dev op off. In Android mostly the file transfer is the default protocol, or you can also set it to charging.

Developer options are for advanced users. The option that I showed should not pose any problem if used as suggested.

Go to Settings>My Phone> Scroll down to find Build Number> Tap on the build number 7 times> Confirm with Pin or Pattern Unlock> Toggle the Developer Option Button to On
Try to go to settings and then about phone section, if you can see the build number, tap on it 7 times, now u need to enter your phone pin, the developer options will be enabled. Then a new developer menu will be available in the settings.

Should be the same way as this. First enable developer mode by tapping seven times on the bulid number. Under developer option, you should find the default USB configuration.
Go to Settings> about phone>build no> tap 7 times> enter ur pin to enable developer options. Then search settings for developer options menu and in that menu u may find the default usb config
