To get 930 you add all the numbers besides 50&5 where you divide to make the 10 and multiply the 93 to make 930 or use that and take the 10 tile itself.
Great story about "the greatest" RIP champ.
Great anecdote from Des.
First time I have ever seen or heard of him but I can see why he would be loved.
I am from the US by the way.
If you want to use all of the numbers, here is how you get 930:
75+5+1+7=88,
88x10=880,
880+50=930.
Like Dictionary Corner and the contestants, I got JOINER first, but then saw the extra D for seven with JOINDER. I think that's the only seven.
In the first numbers round, I saw Rachel's solution because playing four large games against the computer has given me a working knowledge of the 125, 150, and 175 times tables, but I also had this related solution:
75 + 5 = 80
10 + 1 = 11
80 x 11 = 880
880 + 50 = 930
In the sixth letters round, I got RADIATES, which seemed to pop out from the arrangement of letters.
_The IT Crowd_ has ruined _Countdown_ for me forever. When TN came up in the letters round, I thought, "We could be on our way to spell TNETENNBA". I had DELUSION and DILUENTS in this round.
For the first number:
50/5 = 10
75 + 10 = 85
7+1= 8
85+8 =93
93 x. 10 ='930
1:20
50/5 * (75+10+7+1)
= 930
Bradley Williams Thats how I did it as well. I was surprised that none of them got it, as it seemed pretty immediate to me (and Im not that good with arithmetics that I get a lot of these). And I was surprised by Rachel doing it the way she did it.
Bradley Williams qqq
(75-7) * 10 = 680
50 * 5 = 250
680 +250 = 930
Same way I did it too. In a lot of the numbers games, both Rachel and Carol before her never seemed to like this route even when there's a 10 and a target ending in zero. Maybe it's a mathematician thing that it's not their usual method of choice.
Joiner? Weird word choice when I thought the word friend was more obvious.
"nine hundred an therr-tea"
Dez 😳 and to think it was the hot seat 💺 after the sad passing of Richard wish he stayed on but I can understand the travel time and Distance
75+7+1=83
83+50/5=93
93x10=930
i got radiates soon as they stopped putting the cards up, would never take chances like Dave.
Drugs. That's how you explain McEnroe then vs McEnroe now.
Funny actually, about 3 or 4 shows ago I saw them use airdates as well...so got that one easy.
at the end :????
Ive used a simlar comment to the one des lynam talked about sir Henry Cooper made in polite company . I usually end it by saying one of 3 things. he's as big as a brick outhouse/brick outside bathroom/brick outside facility.
Much easier way, at least to my generally lazy intuition: 10 * (75+50/5+7+1) = 930
IT CROWD is so funny
Outlines
Opps mist the 10:-(
This would never be big in America
dinolts
ah yes i remember des lynam, quite the sex symbol
those tea time teasers are a joke.
Horned
75+5+1+7 = 88x10 = 880+50 = 930
