Illegal wrestling slam
Вставка
- Опубліковано 16 гру 2016
- This past Thursday on 12/15/16 i got illegally slammed into the mat causing my right hamstring and forearm to go numb aswell as a severe concussion. My doctor says that more than likely I have to be done with contact sports
Folkstyle: illegal
Greco: 5 points and the coach liked it
It isn’t five. Five is when it is high amplitude feet over head. This was at most four in greco
@@aidenforster5892 the opponents feet were clearly over both of their heads
@@Rexschmex I have done Greco for 8 years, that is not a German suplex
@@Rexschmex and also, that is four. Five points is high amplitude feet over head. That was not high amplitude, he did not enter the danger zone
Greco for 11 years its 4 points for 5 points feet must go around the axel
I've never had cheerleaders when I wrestle :(
It’s not illegal… He did not leave his feet and his knees hit before the other wrestlers body did
In folkstyle it is illegal to brute force slam someone plus his hands were still locked on the way down also there was no control on the takedown.
Travis Smith yeah I looked up the rules and realize that any forceful slam is illegal in folk style wrestling...No matter If you don’t leave your feet or not
@@ChunkyLover420 yeah now if it was freestyle or Greco he could have gotten away with it more. Also that rule has a gray area because of the knees down first and take down control.
@@ChunkyLover420 no it’s not illegal the way he may returned him. It’s just the way red landed making it a potentially dangerous stoppage.
Our coach used to tell us that if you do not want to be slammed, Do not allow anyone to pick you up and slam you.
That great advice tbh
@@tharealchevyit really is
Lol
@kpj2224 If you want to be a rock climber, don't fall. Good advice.
@@Unstrict good job 👏
Youth - illegal slam
Junior high - illegal slam
High school - illegal slam
NCAA - They didnt go through the floor and no one died. Game on.
It is legal for kids Freestyle and Greco though.
The old man yelling “get up get up” is so wrestling man
He said head up, he wants him to build his posture back up
Still so wrestling
@@CT-mz8ob still didn't say get up, I didn't say anything.about it not being wrestling, ur just deaf aaand blind
Did that 50 times today actually I did not we get first all the time 🤼😭😂
Head up goof
Trying to see what was illegal about that…that was a TAME hip toss. Even as the opposing coach I’d be like…”sucks to be you”.
No it wasn't, any move that causes your opponent to land on their neck is illegal in folk style.
@@alexandervazquez9218 lame as hell
I agree
THESE REPLYS ARE INCORRECT. BECAUSE THE WRESTLER RETURNING HIS OPPONENT TO THE MAT'S KNEE TOUCHES THE MAT FIRST.. IT IS A LEGAL RETURN.
1. Not a hip toss.
2. The ref may not have called it an illegal hold. It could have been stopped for being potentially dangerous or for suspected injury. The ref may have seen something the video doesn’t show etc.
3. This doesn’t seem like the most serious match ever and a stoppage for a landing like that seems reasonable, especially at this level.
Illegal or not getting yoked up like that sucks. Hope you made a full recovery.
doubt he was injured
It was not that bad. I am a austrian wrestler and we do that in fights last training we trained this. One of my friends took 5 way worse throws onto his neck and eben with almost no experience he didnt get hurt.
@@reetusmeatus9096check the description, it says he suffered a severe concussion and his doctor said he will probably have to be done with high contact sports 😢

Oh.
How do you see the date?

@@Brown_poundprodz Thanks, I'm an idiot. I should've figured that out.
I just graduated from this school bro 😭
There is a difference between illegal and potentially dangerous. This wasn’t illegal but it was potentially dangerous just from the awkward landing
A potentially dangerous movement is an illegal movement. Comment makes no sense. And this is an illegal slam regardless. The guy literally lept from his feet to slam the other guy. Not even a hip toss
His arms were still around his waist after they hit the floor. Making it an illegal move
This is what I was thinking. It was a good toss, just a bit of an awkward landing. I still applaud the ref for stopping the match to make sure
That's just tough wrestling it happens
you can clearly see faked slamming his knees on the floor to comply with the rules then he purposely steered his head straight into the floor instead of his back.
.
you can call that "legal" but that was clearly dirty and intentional bend of the rules
. hitting your knees first into the ground is meant to minimize the strength of the slam, he took advantage and directed that strength into the back of his head
@@saintsocramnymaia5511 how many people on this app need to be told that the knees hitting before the opponent is not the rule?
The rule is that the lifting wrestler is responsible for returning the opponent to the mat in a controlled and safe manner. Knees have nothing to do with it.
@@saintsocramnymaia5511 It’s wrestling not ballet go cry somewhere else
No
@@saintsocramnymaia5511if this is dirty, then what tf is frestyle and greco to you
Everything is illegal nowadays...
Everyone is a pussy nowadays
Only in Folkstyle
Locking hands has always been illegal.
you don't know what you're talking about. It's dangerous. You will know when you get slamed like that. 🤫🤣
@@LoveCaseOhTell me your scared of confrontation without telling me.
I thougt the cheerleaders clapping was the sound of his neck snapping for a second 😂😂😂
I wrestled 126 in high school and did something similar. This was right before I kicked him in the stomach and did a Stone Cold Stunner to end the match. I climbed up a chair and had some audience members throw cans of Budweiser and proceeded to chug both cans down the hatch. Never got called by ref and he joined me in chugging a beer.
As the ref, I can confirm
As one of the audience who threw budweiser at you, i can confirm.
Give me a hell yeah!
As the can of Budweiser that was thrown at you, I can confirm
As the clerk at the corner store that illegally sold you beer…I can confirm.
Since when did wrestlers get cheerleaders??? I missed out.
A whole team of cheerleaders for 1 guy lol
In Iowa and places where wrestling is really popular they have cheerleaders for wrestling
On s en passe facilement.
Cheerleaders or students never went to matches the room stunk up by wrestlers bo way to much. I refused to wrestle because of it. I beat almost every wrestler on team. Except the hvwt. The guy who outweighed me by over a 110 lbs. Couldnt beat or pin me.
@@randallmatsumoto6573 sure bud
Bros neck sounded like an ASMR creator eating fried chicken 😂😂😂
Bro didnt even land on his neck
Illegal or not, that was AWESOME.
That kid couldve been paralyzed
I mean, that sucks for the kid, but it looks more like a mat return gone wrong.
bro that’s not even illegal
Right I thought as long as your knees hit the mat before slamming your oppennet it wasn't illegal
@@gamesforfun3680 You thought wrong.
@@flowingafterglow629 indeed, all day everyday😂
@@gamesforfun3680 even if he knees landed first it’s still illegal because he brought him down forcefully to the mat. Right call.
Locked hands right?
That ref should read the rule book....the player on the offense(the one tossing) hits his knees before the other wrestler (the one getting tossed) hits the mat. Therefore making this 100% legal and should have been stopped because of a pin not anything else.
No where in nfhs nor ncaa rules does it stipulate that knees hitting first rules our a slam. Absolutely no where.
So, who needs to read a rule book, rook?
@@jimbrock387 knees were the first point of contact that's why I said knees but you are correct it doesn't say knees it says must contact the mat before his opponent so thanks for the need for clarification, I guess there is always a douce like you that can't just leave people be to their comments and post your own....
in folkstyle when you hear the crowd go ohhhhhh, that's when you know there was an illegal throw
What makes it illegal. Dude slammed him about as soft as someone could
That’s illegal nowadays… Good grief.
90% of the potential slam is how the fish maneuvers trip to the mat
It looked like a hella clean mat return tbh
Slammed near the top of the CNS. Brutal. I get it.
shit dude that looks like that hurt
that looks like some chiropractic move you would do to crack your back
How tf did u comment this before yt shorts was a thing?
@@bigred6978lmao damn how’d u realize this 😭🤣
Cheerleaders while I'm wrestling would piss me off
He also had locked hands when the dude was on the mat which is also illegal!
Bro was locking hands like how did the referee not see that
His soul temporarily left his body. 👻
That's 100% legal is every style of wrestling. It just looks awkward.
Bro I thought he snapped his neck with that sound
It’s illegal on because the wrestler in control is supposed to hit the mat first.
My anger issues would not be able to wrestle with cheerleaders in the background
He wore the double kneepads knowing he'd hit this.
Cheerleaders for wrestling… I would just leave the event right then and there. That has to be annoying during a match I can barely hear my coach enough.
That dude basically slammed himself. His opponent just held on to him while he did it. Lmao
Dude felt the chiropractor on that slam
This isn’t even illegal. Both his knees landed prematurely to his opponent.
Guy also didn't land on his neck, he rolled up and tucked his chin (first day of judo technique)
This shouldn’t be illegal please don’t pussify wrestling it is one of the hardest sports and should be kept that way
Cool pinning combo, but only a fish is letting that be done to them
I like how theres always those one old ladies that think they know what there talking about
There's usually more than 1. Dad's too
It doesn't help when the guy getting thrown, throws his legs toward his head. Which gave the throw more velocity and the hampered ability to safely land.
I thought the cheerleaders footstep was his neck cracking💀
If he had trapped the arm it would have been illegal. But that was completely legal.
Kid in blacks knee hit the mat before the kid in red. Legal in my opinion. It just sounded rough because the kids back smacked perfectly on the mat. I wrestled for 13 years (not boasting just trying to give some insight)
Got arrested for going 220 mph The world gone soft 😞
Why am i getting arrested for something so pity didn't even hurt anyone.
I'm pretty sure it wouldn't have been illegal if the kid didnt jump into it
It’s only a “slam” if he returns the opponent without control, which he had full control, making it legal
i was expecting at least half of them to pull a wrestling slam on them when they caught them 😭
I think John Cena might call this kid for pointers
Why did dude kick his legs up like that😂
because it saved him from getting stuck
Red had a lot of room to leg sweep to prevent that
I was going to say, that’s a Greco style body lock, still good technique though.
So, this is illegal in some cases, and not in other.
I will explain the styles first and then why or how its illegal. Feel free to correct me.
Folkstyle is the wrestling you see in school.folkstyle involves using your upper and lower body to gain a take down.
Ex:in folk style, i can put someone in the lock showed in this video, but i cannot throw them and second my enemy hits the ground, i have hold him with two hands instead of gripping around him with two hands. So my hands cannot make contact once someone hits the ground in folkstyle. So, this was illegal for the throw(depends on the ref sometimes), and the continued hand grip.
In grecko, or roman style, i can only use my upper body and can only control the upper body of my opponent to get a take down. So in grecko, this was not illegal. I dont know about the hand rules though.
Freestyle, last but not least, is, well, freestyle wrestling. You can pull about every move (besides a double nelson i believe) and can keep both hands gripped in freestyle.
So, depending on the style being used,(looks like grecko or folkstyle) this may or may not be illegal. It just depends pn the set of rules.
That wasnt illegal. He dropped to his knees before his opponent was slammed and it was not over the head throw. Legal but nasty is what it was.
Like that slam. Stacked him good. But unfortunately it's the new wussyfied age of wrestling where power moves are banned, so no one gets embarrassed.
Didn't have this problem wrestling in the 80s
Wait. Cheerleaders at a wrestling event? What the flying?
the only thing illegal about this are the people who think it is.
Illegal slams are the best ones
I don't know why they would stop that when his knees were down and he landed the opponent on his shoulder blades. No reason to stop that pin.
If you touch your opponent it's illegal now. In 2 years they will be cheerleaders
Those cheerleaders making all the difference
I don’t know why that’s a slam. I thought he took him to the mat pretty safely
That called a suplex
No it ain't
A slam must be controlled.
Im that instance, it wasn't. He actually put a lot of force into the slam, making it worse.
Kid jumped into it lol. He slammed himself.
so many people in comments who obviously never wrestled a day in there life
Or don’t do folkstyle and their like I do that all the time
@@Evnvydrunks in their 40s who like to watch kids paralyze other kids “what’s illegal about this?”
Bro was tired of that cheer
Let’s go went silent after that slam 😂😂
Kid did it to himself
Not his fault his opponent is special
And that is what we call a fish. That dude is clueless and just muscling and flopping around till something works lol.
Bro hit him with a rock bottom and thought he'd get away with it.
Not the craziest thing i've seen personally though. Someone once hit a teardrop brain buster. Somehow they let the match continue.
Both wrestlers landed on the mat. Nothing illegal.
When I grew up cheer leaders weren't allowed near a mat unless we had a cramp
homie just fuckin jumped into the air onto his back and Tori gets called for slamming. sheesh, freestyle lookin like soccer.
Thats legal, his knees dropped first
Only reason it was illegal was because his feet were up in the air
That’s not illegal. Body lock in complete control right to his back and maintained control. That’s legal all day.
That was a finishing move
NOT illegal in MMA. He's got a future ... :-P
Back when I wrestled we never got penalized for hard slams, only slams landing on head/neck
Exactly.
I felt this....😬😬
I slowed it down and paused it, red shouldn’t have stopped the match he got his knee down before the body hit the ground making i legal in folk style
Thats an easy broken neck.
That ain't no joke.
Yep, it’s why we mock “freestyle” wrestlers. It’s like they want quadriplegics.
Holy shit, that looked bad.
Looked to me his knees hit before opponent did so wouldn't be illegal in folktale when I wrestled. Maybe now if the rules are different
Neither one of them knew wtf they were doing
His knees hit before his opponent's torso. What was illegal?
I’m a high school wrestler that throw was illegal. You cannot throw a kid on there head this is folk style. The kid could get paralyzed. The opponent that throws there knees also have to touch the mat before the other kid hits the mat.
Kid in blacks knee hit the mat before the kid in red. Legal in my opinion. It just sounded rough because the kids back smacked perfectly on the mat. I wrestled for 13 years (not boasting just trying to give some insight)
@@fabian379213 years and you still didn't know it's illegal
good mini throw, i think folkstyle rules are a little too protective
Folk style is usually used for kids and high school that's why they are so protective they don't want any permanent damage to them.
There was nothing illegal about that toss
Hell that kid even jumped 😂
Legal, it was simply a safety caution from ref.
I can tell the guy in black came from Greco.
In college there would be no question- totally legal.
However, this is not college- these are 16 year olds who probably shouldnt be getting slammed on their necks. Just a thought.
He made full contact all the way through=legal
You have to return them to the mat safely. It's the refs judgment call. I would have called that a slam.
He jumped up and slammed his opponent on the top of his spine=not legal.
We aren’t trying to get children paralyzed dipshit
Look dude, I’m just saying, if that was the rules there wouldn’t be this sport.
You know how sharp and hard our teeth are? Much more than someone’s throat. We still go out of our way to use “go for the throat” as a euphemism.
In high school absolutely illegal
It’s illegal in anything that’s not the backyard crack league run by drunk dads.
He’s knee hits the mat right before his back so I wouldn’t have called it too close
