Great video Jim. I like that blue toning, it's also my favorite for BW. But very often I do my split toning with blue in the shadows & sepia in highlights (or vice versa). Mostly I play with the luminance of the colors, I also have a few BW LUT''s which I combine. Anyway, have a great weekend Jim - greeting from snowy germany.. 🙋♂️❄
thanks much Mike and yep there are endless creative options for sure, and they are all fun! I love Germany, enjoy your snowy day, it's warm here in TX (I wish I was there instead!)
Thanks for this. Another fun video, and loved the finished photo. Even though this is about Monochromes, I like your technique of creating and copying the mask, and erasing the negative structure from the chateau. I always learn a lot from your videos.
Some images lend themselves to monochrome Jim. Watching you produce that conversion relatively quickly and I think back many years to the days I started out in a makeshift darkroom. It took ages trying to get the results I wanted. Another good video there. I have a question relating to DxO PL4. Do you have the Viewpoint plug in and if so a demo would be useful. I know you have the NIK collection and so may not require this.
thanks much Ken and I do not have Viewpoint but I believe it is the same as Perspective Efex, which I do have in the Nik Collection, and I think it is a good product - in fact, I am considering a demo video about it at some point
I like this silvery loo, looked yesterday already the old Luminar 4 video to find out the way to do it, now I see I’ve done it right. Thanks again and have fun… Volker
haha yeah I am a bit speedy at times, sorry, but yes you can replay it or even change the playback speed with that gear icon if you want to - thanks for watching!
Great tips, as always. I'll be using the split toning to create the silvery look in my monochrome shots often from now on, I love it!
thanks much and have fun!
Thank you for this tips. Love the idea with the split toning and silvery look 🤩
thanks much and glad you liked that!

thanks for watching Geoff and glad you got something from this one!
I can never get used to taking the structure down on clouds. I love clouds!!!! Don't worry I get it...you prefer smooth clouds and water.
haha no worries and to each his/her own for sure
Another great video! And your observation about people’s tolerance for drama in color vs b/w made me really think! Thanks!
thanks much and yes I think it's true what I said about their tolerance, so push those monochromes around a bit LOL
I have started making luminar ai videos for beginners. Thank you for helping me gain info about this wonderful product. 😀
thanks for watching and keep creating, that's awesome!
Excellent informative video as always, many thanks Jim
thanks so much!
Looks great as a monochrom, great edit, thanks for sharing 👍🏻
thank you so much!
Love the silvery look to your monochrome work! You inspire me to do some monochrome for sure!
thanks so much!
Nice work. I had not used that invert trick in Luminar AI. I will now though.
thanks for watching Kevin!
Great. I like that development.
thank you!
I love a tastefully done monochrome! Could you please do a video on Dodge & Burn?
thanks much and yes I will do a deep dive on dodge & Burn for sure

Nice with the copy, paste, invert info :-)
thanks and yep that's a handy trick for sure!
Did you print this image? Might make a nice pano image.
I have not but good idea, it would look sweet on metal I think.
