Do you recommend going for LVN or ADN before transferring to WCU? What would be the best route for a lower tuition and less classes at west coast? I enjoyed your video! Very informative, thank you 😊
When i was looking to RN school ACC did not have that program and my prerequisites were expiring so i just went LVN-BSN route at WCU but ADN is a good route you can work as an RN while going back to get your BSN some places would pay for you to go back to get your BSN.. at westcoast all the BS classes like research and the classes that we did a lot of papers was all online There are a lot of programs that have ADN - BSN i would do research to see which is the cheapest route i would say look into western gov ( i think that’s what it’s called) it’s all online and they do provide alot of programs
Yes can you do more on west coast? Like more in depth about your classes, the difficulty and your clinical experience. I’m doing the ADN program at ACC and may transfer there. Thanks!
Hey girl! Did you get book through the school? (WCU) Or no? Also are books really needed ? I’ll start there in august and I’m trying to bring those numbers down too! 😅
I opt out on book voucher and purchase books from previous students the only book i purchase from the students was med surg ( didn’t even open it lol ) the OB book( omg get that book you need that book) and the rest i used ATI books that the school will provide
@@niecy.b omg thanks so much for responding!!! My book would’ve cost 6k!! Now I’ll find where to actually buy it. I know you’re also done with school but did UA-cam lectures help you?? Also I’m so afraid of some classes like stats! patho and pharm!!! What classes would you say was kinda hard for you? Reason why I’m asking bcz I’m going to WCU and I haven’t found anyone that goes more in depth about it online… thanks!
@Kinyimba Leah I Amy start in August to California location. I've had stats at CC and it's not bad. Considering math is my weakest subject. Path and Phar are challenging classes this is coming from a medical assistant/lvn graduate. U will figure out creative ways to learn that's best for u. Pharmacy is more remembering drug classes and endings. I'd suggest trying to learn how to study Pharmacy now.
Hoping an ACC graduate or someone sees my question - were there any unvaccinated students who graduated from American career college? Were they able to participate in clinicals at hospitals without being vaccinated? That is my concern about joining the school. I know ACC does not require it but the clinical sites might. Please someone help me.
honestly its the same for almost all schools not just ACC I did my research and my coworker who's at WestCoast just graduated but most of her clinics asked for the covid vaccine and another coworker went to a school up by cabazon and again most clinics asked for the vaccine at the end is no longer a school thing but a clinic thing and getting lucky tbh I would ask if you can do an exception letter maybe than can help you
Hey hey sorry for late reply but yes i recommend going to: Pals tutoring these tutors already have taken the class so they really help with content Nurse specialist : every term your cohort will get emails about them hosting zoom meeting they help with weekly content that you go over in class more getting familiar with questions and how to answer questions. They basically do content reviews and also get you read for taking proctor exams Professor will have 1:1s so you can meet with your professor and go over grades and content and missed content they also will have tutoring days
For different classes it varies because i was able to pick my classes i normally did morning classes because night classes i was ready to go to sleep lol
For LVN school i was going like almost everyday for west coast you go to school maybe 1-2 times a week and then a clinical depending on your term clinical can be every other week There was some people that was able to work full time for school at Westcoast because your able to pick your day and time for lecture and your clinical day
@AshleySassyRamos I’m so sorry i can answer that i dont remember :( it changes every term or class that your in i do remember that if you dont pass they had remediation in 2019-2020 they had that but idk if they changed it
My friend is currently attending that program full time and I start part time Jan 24th, is it do-able? Too hard? Nervous I’ve been a medical assistant for 4 years
@@MrsLady-ip3tg sure so far everything is good , but I will say if your planning to do this full time please know that most of my classmates have quit their jobs or only work weekends it is hard but I think it’s not impossible at least not yet lol, good luck 👍 they also offer tutoring after school the simulation lab is pretty cool but you have to keep in mind that the dummies that we use are perfect patients so skills are done quicker and easier but when we go out to clinicals we will meet with real patients which will be different. I start clinicals the beginning of February I believe we will be doing mostly cna work and then 2nd term we will do med pass then 3rd term catheters and ng tubes I can update you later on hope this helps
I want to say it ranges from 40,000- 75,000 the cost has been up recently idk but i still get emails but i would reach out the financial advisor at WCU and dont forget to let them know you want to do the pathway scholarship since your coming from there sister school
