Thanks for the video after my inquiry on your last. I'm looking at grabbing a ODBII cable to play around with FreeSSM and see how that goes for my 09 Impreza.
I have a 2007 Legacy Spec.B. The VDC light is on, and I was wondering if the OBDlink cable with freeSSM would be able to read that code. The VAG-COM kkl 409.1 cables can't access that section of the CAN system with freeSSM. My other option would be to buy an Autel AP200, but I'm not sure if that would give me access to all the systems I want to scan for. I also need to be able to calibrate a steering angle sensor as I know that's one of the codes being thrown, and I have a spare SAS on hand to troubleshoot with. Thanks in advance!
VAG-COM won't read ABS, VDC, and SRS codes as they're on a Subaru specific protocol. Only thing that can view those systems is a SSM-compatible scanner. VDC is on the traction control system, so unless it involves something with the ECM, you'll never see the code with conventional scanners.
@@BoxerTechGarage Thanks for the response! This is definitely going to be a journey for me next month.. Trying to find a scanner that can read the codes and allow me to calibrate a steering angle sensor. Looks like I'm going to try the Autel AP200 as Autel says that it can access the VDC system as it grants one lifetime license to scanning all systems of one make. Hope you have a good day! And, again, thanks!
Awesome vid bro

VAG-COM cable is what you'll need for that. I have one of those too. Used it until I got the VXDiag
@@BoxerTechGarage Hi, do these cables work with the newer Subaru's 2017 and up?
Do you have to buy the VXDiag or can you use the Cardaq?

can i tune fuel and ignition timing with this
Hey will this allow me to force an evap test on a 2016 subaru wrx?
What OBD2 cable do I need to diagnose my 04 Impreza RS with freessm software ?
www.amazon.com/dp/B00H9S71LW/ref=cm_sw_r_as_gl_apa_glt_i_M19D028K209S7XYBAXB6?linkCode=ml2&tag=boxe0db-20
This one linked will work for FreeSSM
Do you know if there is an option to activate rear fog light? I have just wired in rear fog to my wrx sti 2011 and nothing happens when activating.
I do not believe so. SSM does more diagnostics than reprogramming modules.
OBDLink MX reset
I have one permanently mounted in my 07 that talks to my Android 10.1 inch radio with Torque Pro.
