  • On this day Danger, McDirt, Katoom and I tackle the legendary Mad River trail and several of the nearby trails. Mad River is much more difficult than the trail rating suggests. See why.

A week after this I spent several days riding and filming Table Mtn Area just South of Ellensburg. I hit Tronsen, Red Hill, Mt Lillian, Devils Gulch, Mission Ridge etc... Not sure if I can edit before I hit the road on my next trip south. I plan on trailering it for 4-5 months into the South again this year. Will bring my 450 and do some riding, especially on my way back in March/April where I'll be riding New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado etc...hopefully if I live that long.

Nice introduction to the trails in that area. I'd like to visit from So. Cal. Any maps of the area you can point me to would be appreciated.

The National Geographic maps for Washington clearly identify the trails in purple. Very good. I've ridden a decent amount in SoCal. You will not be disappointed in visiting Washington.

What's that round blue thing on the left handlebar? Inboard of the clutch perch.

What a great day! It's amazing how a ride that looks good on paper eats up the daylight and gas and then we end up cutting off and taking an alternate out. My GoPro 7 now goes psycho if it's too warm so unfortunately did not get the insane Billy Ridge climb, narrow track and constant abyss on that first part of the climb. Sadly the chapter guide is from the Devil's Backbone ride. Wonky editing software!
