The trick for the chipping effect is amazing!!!

Thanks, you can use that technick not just for chipping, if you put more salt and paint the model with the same base color, but a bit lighter shade - you will have a weather effects on the paint and so on, keep experementing 😉

Just thought to myself earlier, that you've been awfully quiet....then I noticed that I've missed three videos!
That has been corrected now....she looks fantastic!

Thanks you very much for the video! I myself do scale modeling of Great War aircrafts for quite some time! I work excusively in 1/48 scale because the aircrafts in 1/32 are literally impossible to find here in Portugal! I wanted to see how you did the rigging in this particular aircraft! Excellent work! Very nice!
    Greetings from Portugal

Thank you so much for your feedback, actually, I buy all my models on-line and the come to me by mail, so you can search them on ebay or in on-line model shops

Greetings my friend, that turned out a absolute stunner of a build, WWI aircraft are not my area of interest, but watching your build I could change, but the rigging put me off, best regards from Australia 👍👍👍👍

Glad you enjoyed it, just start from some Fokker planes, they had very little rigging

SH kits are always challenging due to their 'short run' feel but you always rise to the occasion and do a marvellous job, FCM. You always seem to come up with a solution to rigging problems and the way you managed this one is great. I had similar wing joint problems with the SH Bristol M1....very little holding power and nubs that didn't fit. The salt method worked a treat too.

Thanks, I have Bristol kit as well, purchased them together, but will build it later

Bet you can do rigging in your sleep. 😀 Always a treat to watch you rig a plane. How do you manage to cut the hypodermic needles into uniform lengths? Do you file them down after they’re cut off?

    • @davidrobinson4118

I have a bi-plane that I intend to build soon so I had a go at trying to cut those hypodermic needles. I must say I failed miserably. Maybe my file wasn't good enough or I just haven't got the knack. I've bought some micro brass tubes and will probably use them instead as they are easier to cut. I think FCM reams out the little tubes he ends up with using a PCB bit as I need to do after cutting the brass tubing. Hope this helps. Take care and happy modeling.

@@davidrobinson4118 Hi David, that’s good advice. I too failed miserably in my efforts to cut the hypodermic needles to size. Another issue is that I can get solid brass rods but hollow ones are hard to find, especially in this size, at the one art store near me. Hypodermic needles however are plentiful here, from several pharmacies, and very cheap compared to brass rod. I guess that makes any practice effort by me quite inexpensive 🤣. I’m going to try using a triangular file to make a divot in the needle, then use a very fine saw to gently cut through - see if that works. Wish me luck. 🍀 Thank you for your help David, much appreciated. 🙂

@@ronaldbyrne3320 Hi Ronald, just to let you know the micro brass tubes I have are from Albion Alloys Ltd. I'm in the UK, I don't know where you are but maybe you could get them
online if the cost was not to prohibitive. I bought some 0.3mm and 0.5mm inside diameter. Take care and happy modeling. Oh, and good luck with the needles, then the fun really starts when actually trying to rig the model!

    • @FlyingCircusModels
      @FlyingCircusModels  Рік тому +1

Thank you so much, Ronald. I have cut so many of them, so it happends by itself now😎, I don't file pieces after, I only use that special dentiat tool to open the hole (if it blocked)

    • @FlyingCircusModels

Actually, I used all my 0.6mm needles on this project and I decided to try brass tubes. Ordered them from this web-site - flex-i-file.com/en-ca . Will see if I like them or come back to needles
