Its rather simple: The Warriors are in "win now" mode...Markkanen is in his prime at 27 yo...Kuminga and Podz are both 21...Markkanen would be a great second option and it would allow the Warriors to stay relevant (not to mention it would give us the pleasure of watching Curry in the playoffs before he rides off into the sunset of retirement).

I believe Jazz are after the Hawks pick next year and another the following year or two. Spurs own those! They want every chance for Flag. Historical deep draft next year. No way make that ridiculous trade. The Warriors have a great core, they would destroy their future if they made that trade. Too many people out here thinking that trades are gonna make us better.
Trading all the depth for Lauri isn't making us a championship team either. So either way we aren't a championship team and that means there is no use in trading the future for a guy who won't make a difference.
If the team will trust the youngsters more, rather than relying too much on Curry's firepower, and draining his strength and stamina to do it all, the team will improve. Another big rim protector is certainly needed as well, IMHO. Adding Post and/or Kai Sotto would fit the criteria, including the salary. Plowden and Jackson Rowe showed good potential on the wings too.

The rest of your team would be vet minimums , undrafted rookies , and g league players. That will get you nowhere but the lotterey or play-in. And the only thing is that you wouldn’t have a pick because you traded them all for unproven lauri. If steph wants significant help with the warriors, he should take a massive discount on his next contract

Lauri Markkenan isn't a needle mover. Plus this is the last year of his contract and I'm sure he won't renew here or if he gets a big contract it will be too large and mess with the young guys wanting to stay here if they allow a newcomer to come in and take up most of the salary cap from them. When ya money is funny you shop for bargains not full price items. Plus if a player wants to not have a bad tail end of their career they have to retire after winning a chip. Ya never know when you are gonna win even if you just come off one. Too much player movement to predict any team being able to dominate much less repeat as chip winners UNLESS you are in the East.
I feel like GSW would be assured of his re-signing with them before they made the trade. That's why they passed on Siakam last season

@@WarriorsTV if the trade happens, it happens. But Danny Ainge is asking too much from the Dubs future to begin with. When Steph retires (and in essence Draymond too), the cap space it would open up could sign at least a star that can ease the transition into the post Steph era and then the picks they have can usher in new blood in the system.

Warriors can’t draft and podz is the exception. They missed on J.Wilson better offensively than klay and mm, and with the number of guards they couldn’t have traded for draft capital last year? Here’s a win-win, trade curry and rebuild with the number of draft capital. Curry might get another champ or gets well paid. The team gets to rebrand and have a clearer idea how their future prospects are without generational talent. People might leave the team because of the move then again staff and members left when the team was winning championships so you cannot make everybody happy when they dont have the shared vision. The other exception if Curry really is for the team then agree to a pay cut so the team can afford the second offensive option namely a big.
Warriors need to adjust their salaries bc it’s setting the standard of cash egos and we already have examples that went elsewhere.
