Yes, AM34 scores. But the 4th line is the difference maker here. They controlled the ice since game 1. They play nasty along the boards, forechecking, hitting hockey. Not pleasant.

It's interesting how people said game one was lackluster by the Leafs.
They outshot Boston by 12 shots, They took a few undisciplined penalties and Boston goalie stood on his head or got lucky or a combination.
Sammy wasn't, bad most goals he had zero chance on.
Things just went Boston's way, But the Leafs were totally not outplayed like score suggested.
leafs were the better team in game 1, Bruins just capitalized on all of their chances.

It's too bad the circumstances of his retirement though. As much as I used to dislike him, I appreciate his work a lot more now when we're saddled with "national" broadcasters who just assume run over their own mother's than to compliment anything the Leafs do. Meanwhile, while watching NESN last night, I heard Jack and Brickley compliment the Leafs a lot, you can tell they respect the team. I hope he enjoys retirement and figures out what the hell is going on with him and his voice.

No doubt Matthews played great. But isn’t it a basic fact that in order to win in the playoffs “your best players need to play great” this amount of effort should be standard EVERY GAME. You aren’t always rewarded but this is what’s expected for 13 million. Macinnon on Colorado plays this way, MacDavid in Edmonton plays this way, Crosby plays this way all the time.
I’m not trying to knock him, he’s was great, but this is what’s expected as a bare minimum.
