We see: Class 66 Locomotive with Freight Class 165 Networker Class 345 Aventra. I noticed they have very wide doors. Class 387 Electrostar Class 800 and Class 802 IET Hitachi. They are at SPEED!
Hi Busmanpro, Those two types of electrostars you mentioned were the last of the 387 class to be made. I like the livery of these ones, I think it works well.
Duaine, I miss them so. Nothing beats the rumble of a Powercar the seconds before it reaches you at 125MPH. Unfortunately, you won’t see any of that now, not at Maidenhead anyway! Having said that, I do think that the IETs are very photogenic..
Great video mate. So many 9 car IETs, 6 cross overs between the IETs and the 387s on the fast lines, great tones and a doppler from drivers for you and two Network people that I can see and 59201 for DB Cargo I love the 59s for a freight train. Sadly no trains going to Paignton or Newquay (Newquay is actually a good bonus to find). Can you do trains at Water Orton on the XCR and for freight action
Hi Arnold! I’m really pleased with this video, plenty of fast IETs! Hard to believe that 2 years ago they were all HSTs instead! I lucked out with getting Network Rail on-site with this one haha. Water Orton is a great suggestion, it may even be one of the next ones!
Ahh I might have fooled you with posting this in May, but it was actually filmed in January (Same day as Didcot) I haven’t been able to film for the last 2 months due to the government guidance.
Hi EJC71, I’ve been to reading before (before electrification) but it’s on my list of a revisit (as is Swindon) I’m hoping for things to return to normal within the next few weeks.
StarlifeStudios Rail Videos great I will look out for that content 😊👍🏽 The quality and content of your videos really is fantastic, I really enjoy watching them all. Already subscribed, so I get notifications. Shame you won't see any HST's anymore at Reading and Swindon, but they really are still great places to observe trains 😊👍🏽
Quality is something I’m really striving to improve. My next target with quality is the audio which I hope to improve on the next few videos. That’s for applying for notifications, it’s nice to hear that you consider my videos a special event 🙂. I miss those HSTs, I must venture to Plymouth and Newport at some point to see those fun sized HSTs! 👍🏻
StarlifeStudios Rail Videos I've always had a love of railways and been an enthusiast since a kid in the late 1970's - I remember the HST's being introduced in 1976 to South Wales as I am from that area. The railways now are far different from those in the 1970's and 1980's. Your videos do not need that much improving, if at all. Yes you will see the "fun size" Castle Class HST's at Cardiff and Newport normally working the Cardiff to Taunton class 2 expresses and like you mentioned, you will also see them at Plymouth working local Cornish services to/from Penzance 😊👍🏽
Unfortunately, I’m too young to remember the HSTs being introduced, but I’ve been an enthusiast ever since my dad took me around the country in the early 2000s. Those HSTs became a staple of high speed travel and find it hard to accept the IETs as an alternative. I really appreciate your kind comments.
I know there are a couple of those trains most evenings that don't stop at Reading but not specifically. Looks pretty cool seeing them fly through Reading as they are the only passenger trains to not stop there.
I highly recommend it! I choose this station because it has open platform edges instead of fencing. Slough was another option which has mostly the same traffic.
Hi ACETrainsUK! Your a new face, I haven’t heard from you before. Thanks for watching and enjoying! I can see from your profile picture that’s your a HST person, so am I but you won’t see any at Maidenhead any more I’m afraid 😞
If I'm honest with you Rachel, I'm not sure! I have some ideas but I'm out of footage so I need to do some recording this week. But with service significantly reduced, its not going to be easy to find locations with a lot of traffic.
Thank you! It’s great to hear that our friends across the pond are watching my videos. As you can probably guess, most of my viewers are in the UK so it’s awesome to hear from you! I have a lot more where that came from 😃
OMG 800036 went through so fast!
Ikr class-800 is a very fast train!
Plenty of fast trains and tones in this video 🙂
That's because there express
How does such thing go into Hereford look fast
Bro they're not that fast but they are pretty fast

Class 387 Electrostar
Class 800 and Class 802 IET Hitachi. They are at SPEED!

I love the GWR electrostars they look a bit like Gatwick Express in green.

I can’t help but remember the old Intercity 125’s that use to pass through Maidenhead back in the days. I’m gonna miss them dearly 😢

Absolutely,! It’s the way forward I guess! I love the new design’s of the new GWR 🙂

Not a problem at all 🙂 You stay safe too Daniel.

Superb video. I'd love to see a filming session at Reading when things return to normal 😊👍🏽

Watch out for the 387164, it's really fast. Almost going over 125 mph.
With 2 horns.
Is the Cheltenham Spa Express the one that doesn't stop at Reading and does it still run?
