The jokes still hit the same 2 years later as they did when they first came out. There's plenty of Warhammer Fans working for GW. But you can never, ever beat the legal team and upper management. Legal teams never have any chill, and the upper management always wants to stuff their own pockets and makes the legal team do the dirty work needed. They are not fans of Warhammer. Yes, it’s a business but an ENTERTAINMENT business. Things that may work in other types of business may not work here due to, you know, the need for a fanbase that would like to invest a lot of their money on an optional hobby. In sort, they’re the lifeblood of the company. It’s not a vital service either and what they work on tends to be very niche so maybe the legal and upper departments should listen to marketing, those who have knowledge and experience about the psychology of the consumer, and replan their strategy in order to guarantee a constant profit in the far future.

Considering the ever-present themes of fatherhood in TTS, with the titular Emperor and Captain-General Kitten, I find it appropriate that Alfabusa made the unquestionably difficult decision to priotise the well-being of his son TTS, especially in its later stages, emphasized the importance of a loving parental figure in the developement of a child and while its an inherently silly series, with the Manperor of Mankind throwing around funny curse-words, I am sure that Alfabusa had brought in much of his own hopes, dreams and anxieties as a father into TTS So, I say good on him, his son has to and should come first, *especially* considering GWs non-cooperative attitude right now Best of luck Alfa, hope you finish your vision for TTS one day

Emperor Text to Speech is something i only discovered after this happened. I watched all of it in the space of a week. Games Workshop is being quite ridiculous. This has evolved from a parody to an actual story i was invested in. I shall await the return of our true glorious emperor. The one with a text to speech device attached to him.

You have been an amazing friend over the years and I am sad to see the series end in such a way. This isn't a shitty fanfic, it's awesome, and clearly made with so much love and compassion. One of the funniest series I've seen in many years. Especially the D&D episode nearly had me in stitches. It's an amazing work of art you've all made and you should all be proud of what you've accomplished. I hope to see more from you, discovered this series when I was in quite the depressive funk and it really cheered me up. I spent the last year and a bit wiping bums and watching people die, its been a hard time between the cynical insanity of world politics and the pandemic, however breaking my arm wanking about how emo I am isn't the point of this, everyone is in the same shit. I've been a GW drone since I was seven, I bought Warhammer: Dark Omen when it first came out and have been playing the tabletop of 40k and fantasy until I left home and got a job. 40K got me though my university days and I spent most of this time in the centre of it all, Nottingham. I used to go to the HQ when I was particularly suicidal and just sit and take it all in. It had changed a lot since I was young, they did the main hall like an empire city and it was calming to look around all the little dioramas and displays they made for the various games days. Like the siege of the Emperor's palace made from a FIRE PLACE for the gate with two titans fighting. Their HQ is a series of miserable grey boxes on an industrial estate that used to have a huge 90's era space marine statue (the two piece ones that you used to get with painting sets) outside. It's a fucking Ground Marine now, back in the day we used to mock the 'old guard' as fat-guys and the avatars of BO and trench-coats who used to furiously gate-keep, its very different now. It's almost... cool to like Warhammer and wargaming in general. Imagine my joy when I found your channel years ago and realised that you're as nerdy about the lore as I. The first army I made that wasn't right out the box was a naked custodies army (back when they had very little background) they looked shit but they were mine. Imagine my surprise when the lubed ones slid into the throne room. There they fucking were, the original artwork I had used for references all those years ago. But now they had voices and made me laugh. I loved your series, I loved your irreverent but respectful humour. I loved your lore, all the 'what ifs' you raised during your series were talked about a lot. A list of things 'the emperor needs to get done' was a favourite topic in the hobby and it felt like you were the last selfless kernel of energy Malcador gave the emperor after he was pulled off the throne. Except that energy was the 'spirit' of what made me love the hobby all those years ago. I know GW didn't technically force your hand, but really they did and we all fucking know it. You don't want harassment of staff and you are VERY right, most staff are as nerdy as we are and regard most of GW's policies as horrific things they are forced to do. Like that period of about a decade they were forced to jump people that entered the store within ten seconds and try and sell them something, GW has always been shit at this stuff but recently I thought they had turned a corner. Nope, hope is the first step on the road to disappointment. Out of my huge respect for you I'm going to wait and see what happens but honestly my desire is to channel all this hate into something destructive. I don't care if whatever happens turns out to be pathetic and meme worthy, I just don't care. I want to watch that ugly grey box burn, all the people that made it special are long gone, I even miss Matt Ward, (really nice guy in person) that's how far gone I am. Yeah imagine if Bungie had done to RvB what GW is doing now to all it's fan animations. I doubt Halo would've ever been as popular without works such as RvB. It's even worse for GW since unlike Halo which is a videogame, WH depends on fan engagement to go out and buy and use miniatures. Upsetting the fans like this will only harm GW in the long run, mark my words.
for me, TTS already has become my form of canon in 40k. Originally of course it was just an edgy funny joke playing on the universe, but the themes of fatherhood and writing an interesting and compelling narrative about an active-emperor in the Grimdark seeking to restore light, and doing so through stories of him and his children battling themselves and the xenos forces that stand int heir way. It was so beautiful towards the end, and I genuinely loved every bit of Star Child's presence on screen- jokes and crude humor aside, it really feels like a cohesive story GW wishes they could tell in their universe, as ironic as it sounds.

I suggest trying out battletech as an alternative to a wargame if you're looking for one! If you want a very in-depth universe like 40k's it's great! The main game is fairly crunchy and small scale, but it's got an alternate game type called "Alpha strike" that's good for larger scale battles too! They just got a brand new line of plastic models that look great!

Tell them you have been a loyal fan who has spent money with them in the past and how this turns you completely off of the brand... to the point that you would feel sick spending any more of your time or money on their franchise ever again. But DO NOT send the employees hate mail. Don't disparage them personally if you send messages to the company. Alot of the people you will wind up attacking probably had nothing to do with the decision and may well have disagreed with it. But even if you do only hit the people who made that decision... you won't change their mind with personal attacks. You'll only make them dig in deeper.
It’s been over 4 months since this news, and it honestly saddens me dearly. This entire series is what lit my interest in 40k to begin with. It makes the lore bite sized and digestible, while also adding so much charm and humor to a series frankly riddled with canonical nonsense. But after hearing about GW’s frankly moronic crack down on fan content I don’t have any desire to play or join the community proper. I know there are ways around giving GW money and still playing casually, but I frankly just don’t have those kinds of resources. So until GW changes their practices in regards to both fan content on their own product, I won’t be participating in this community. I hope you and everyone who has made this series finds success and growth from this terrible situation. I’m just sorry that this is the way things had to be..

I remember when my college roommate wanted me to get in Warhammer and I was very intimidated by the vastness of the series. Then he told me to watch TTS, and I can thank solely this channel for my love of the hobby. Without you guys, I would have never agreed to buying models and starting to paint. You guys, and you guys alone, drove my love for this series. Seeing you go hurts, but I am beyond thankful you were there when you were.

This whole ban on fan animations blows my mind on so many levels. It’s BECAUSE of fan animations that Warhammer has gotten so many new fans in recent years. This kind of stuff fosters a loyal and growing community of followers! And Games Workshop decides to punish us for being fans!?
It's a decision based on greed, bureaucracy, and short-sightedness. I'm an organizational consultant by trade, and this shit burns my last damn nerves out. Companies choosing to embrace myopic, short term gain, anti-growth strategies all for the sake of shareholders who do not, in any way, grow the fucking brand. They could have encouraged fan works and even had a contest for fan works where any original characters created in them could be "written into canon" The could have FED the Golden Egg Laying Goose a highly nutritious feed..... Instead they are STRANGLING THE GOD-EMPEROR DAMNED GOOSE TO DEATH!
And the irony is that at least one GW employee has stated they enjoy TTS in the office. There is certainly an element of killing the golden goose about these changes to fan creations.
They're literally killing the golden goose. They decided to do this now because they're making official animations, but the only reason there is any interest in Warhammer 40K animations is due to fan works. They're burning their best asset because they think its competition.

When GW started taking in some animators, like Astartes, I thought "oh great, they're paying attention to, and appreciating the great creators from the community, awesome!" Then the policy was revealed, and I thought "too much attention, too much attention"

The nail in the head of any neutrality I had for GW. Though, Alfa, this could be a perfect time to startup a Stellaris series. Paradox is way more accepting towards content creators then GW is.
Apparently, Paradox actually approached him to make the Stellaris spin-off video, not the other way around. Which amazingly means that even *other companies* realize that TTS is good for marketing, just not Games Workshop.

I'm mostly going to echo everyone else's sentiments: this really sucks, we really didn't want to have to put the show on the shelf, but for the sake of protecting what work we've done, and for Alfa's sake more than anything, it's how it has to be. I, for one, am going to try to stay optimistic that someday, we can return to the show. I mean, I owe a ridiculous amount to it - it's where I got started in voice acting, it gave me the courage to start my own projects, I've met a lot of cool people - and I've put a lot of love and work into it. Considering that there have been a lot of 40k fan animations coming on youtube recently and GW hasn't done anything to the animators or their channels I think it would safe to return to TTS.
I'm like 99% sure Bruva hit a major writers block (the space between episodes had been growing exponentially) and he saw the opportunity to call quit and go to a new project

This was never a “shitty fanfic” it was a masterpiece of art that made me smile, cry, and laugh. I came very late to the TTS fan base but let me tell you, your work is the epitome of fan creations. The jokes still hit the same 2 years later as they did when they first came out. I know that me and many other fans will be six feet under in the cold, cold ground before we stop waiting for this amazing series to come back. Yes, it’s a business but an ENTERTAINMENT business. Things that may work in other types of business may not work here due to, you know, the need for a fanbase that would like to invest a lot of their money on an optional hobby. In sort, they’re the lifeblood of the company. It’s not a vital service either and what they work on tends to be very niche so maybe the legal and upper departments should listen to marketing, those who have knowledge and experience about the psychology of the consumer, and replan their strategy in order to guarantee a constant profit in the far future.

Considering the ever-present themes of fatherhood in TTS, with the titular Emperor and Captain-General Kitten, I find it appropriate that Alfabusa made the unquestionably difficult decision to priotise the well-being of his son
TTS, especially in its later stages, emphasized the importance of a loving parental figure in the developement of a child and while its an inherently silly series, with the Manperor of Mankind throwing around funny curse-words, I am sure that Alfabusa had brought in much of his own hopes, dreams and anxieties as a father into TTS
So, I say good on him, his son has to and should come first, *especially* considering GWs non-cooperative attitude right now

It's an amazing work of art you've all made and you should all be proud of what you've accomplished. I spent the last year and a bit wiping bums and watching people die, its been a hard time between the cynical insanity of world politics and the pandemic, however breaking my arm wanking about how emo I am isn't the point of this, everyone is in the same shit. I've been a GW drone since I was seven, I bought Warhammer: Dark Omen when it first came out and have been playing the tabletop of 40k and fantasy until I left home and got a job. 40K got me though my university days and I spent most of this time in the centre of it all, Nottingham.
I used to go to the HQ when I was particularly suicidal and just sit and take it all in. It had changed a lot since I was young, they did the main hall like an empire city and it was calming to look around all the little dioramas and displays they made for the various games days. Like the siege of the Emperor's palace made from a FIRE PLACE for the gate with two titans fighting.
Their HQ is a series of miserable grey boxes on an industrial estate that used to have a huge 90's era space marine statue (the two piece ones that you used to get with painting sets) outside. It's a fucking Ground Marine now, back in the day we used to mock the 'old guard' as fat-guys and the avatars of BO and trench-coats who used to furiously gate-keep, its very different now. It's almost... cool to like Warhammer and wargaming in general.
Imagine my joy when I found your channel years ago and realised that you're as nerdy about the lore as I.
The first army I made that wasn't right out the box was a naked custodies army (back when they had very little background) they looked shit but they were mine. Imagine my surprise when the lubed ones slid into the throne room.
There they fucking were, the original artwork I had used for references all those years ago. But now they had voices and made me laugh. I loved your series, I loved your irreverent but respectful humour. I loved your lore, all the 'what ifs' you raised during your series were talked about a lot. A list of things 'the emperor needs to get done' was a favourite topic in the hobby and it felt like you were the last selfless kernel of energy Malcador gave the emperor after he was pulled off the throne. Except that energy was the 'spirit' of what made me love the hobby all those years ago.
I know GW didn't technically force your hand, but really they did and we all fucking know it. You don't want harassment of staff and you are VERY right, most staff are as nerdy as we are and regard most of GW's policies as horrific things they are forced to do.
Like that period of about a decade they were forced to jump people that entered the store within ten seconds and try and sell them something, GW has always been shit at this stuff but recently I thought they had turned a corner.
Nope, hope is the first step on the road to disappointment. Out of my huge respect for you I'm going to wait and see what happens but honestly my desire is to channel all this hate into something destructive. I don't care if whatever happens turns out to be pathetic and meme worthy, I just don't care. Yeah imagine if Bungie had done to RvB what GW is doing now to all it's fan animations. I doubt Halo would've ever been as popular without works such as RvB. It's even worse for GW since unlike Halo which is a videogame, WH depends on fan engagement to go out and buy and use miniatures. Upsetting the fans like this will only harm GW in the long run, mark my words.

for me, TTS already has become my form of canon in 40k. Originally of course it was just an edgy funny joke playing on the universe, but the themes of fatherhood and writing an interesting and compelling narrative about an active-emperor in the Grimdark seeking to restore light, and doing so through stories of him and his children battling themselves and the xenos forces that stand int heir way. It was so beautiful towards the end, and I genuinely loved every bit of Star Child's presence on screen- jokes and crude humor aside, it really feels like a cohesive story GW wishes they could tell in their universe, as ironic as it sounds.

TTS got me into warhammer 40k and that fanfiction was a better story than most I've seen in years.
It is not even shitty. It is well-made and well thought out. Some fanfics can surpass the original works. And in some aspects, TTS does.

I suggest trying out battletech as an alternative to a wargame if you're looking for one! If you want a very in-depth universe like 40k's it's great! The main game is fairly crunchy and small scale, but it's got an alternate game type called "Alpha strike" that's good for larger scale battles too! They just got a brand new line of plastic models that look great!

Attack their decision. Tell them why you think its a bad one. Tell them you have been a loyal fan who has spent money with them in the past and how this turns you completely off of the brand... to the point that you would feel sick spending any more of your time or money on their franchise ever again.
But DO NOT send the employees hate mail. Don't disparage them personally if you send messages to the company. Alot of the people you will wind up attacking probably had nothing to do with the decision and may well have disagreed with it. But even if you do only hit the people who made that decision... you won't change their mind with personal attacks. You'll only make them dig in deeper.
It’s been over 4 months since this news, and it honestly saddens me dearly. This entire series is what lit my interest in 40k to begin with. It makes the lore bite sized and digestible, while also adding so much charm and humor to a series frankly riddled with canonical nonsense.
But after hearing about GW’s frankly moronic crack down on fan content I don’t have any desire to play or join the community proper. I know there are ways around giving GW money and still playing casually, but I frankly just don’t have those kinds of resources. So until GW changes their practices in regards to both fan content on their own product, I won’t be participating in this community.
I hope you and everyone who has made this series finds success and growth from this terrible situation. I’m just sorry that this is the way things had to be..

They're literally killing the golden goose. They decided to do this now because they're making official animations, but the only reason there is any interest in Warhammer 40K animations is due to fan works. They're burning their best asset because they think its competition.

The nail in the head of any neutrality I had for GW. Though, Alfa, this could be a perfect time to startup a Stellaris series. Paradox is way more accepting towards content creators then GW is.

I'm mostly going to echo everyone else's sentiments: this really sucks, we really didn't want to have to put the show on the shelf, but for the sake of protecting what work we've done, and for Alfa's sake more than anything, it's how it has to be.
I, for one, am going to try to stay optimistic that someday, we can return to the show. I mean, I owe a ridiculous amount to it - it's where I got started in voice acting, it gave me the courage to start my own projects, I've met a lot of cool people - and I've put a lot of love and work into it. But for now, we'll all just have to focus that love and effort towards something new, and I hope you'll all stick along for the ride.

Considering that there have been a lot of 40k fan animations coming on youtube recently and GW hasn't done anything to the animators or their channels I think it would safe to return to TTS.
I'm like 99% sure Bruva hit a major writers block (the space between episodes had been growing exponentially) and he saw the opportunity to call quit and go to a new project

As far as i'm concerned, after the primaris came in the picture, TTS for me, was unironically canon.
Not only that...but i've seen other amazing 40k fan animation...getting rid of that, they're shooting themselves in the foot.

TTS and Astartes are the only things that brought me to 40k. I would never have bought my very first models 4 months ago if it wasn't for TTS. Astartes was cool, but not enough for me to get into this hobby. TTS introduced me to this world and this hobby. Whatever you do next, wherever you go, we will follow you man. Brb I'm gonna pledge on patreon.
