I played football in high school, I’m pretty sure the first guy you showed was jj watt, he is not tasked with defending his teammates, that’s typically the job of people on the offensive line. He plays defense, and as a defensive end his job is to tackle the person with the ball. He’s positioned at the end of the defensive line so he’s typically one of the first people with a chance to tackle the quarterback or running back depending on the play.
I still don't understand how people like to play O-line. D-line is just so much more fun to play
