Hey, Hey, It's RVerTV Russ, Good To See Water Levels Are Up At Lake Mead. THANKS For The Ride Along Again Today Russ.👍
Hi Lloyd, saw your last name and thought I would ask. Where are you from? My maiden name is Baker. My daddy's name is Samuel Albert Baker. There are lots of Bakers all over. I live in NC.
Thank you Russ for showing Lake Meads changes and upgrades! A little progress is better than none! Hope rain in the future help more! I pray for rain!😀🇺🇸🙏
Ever think about getting another pup pup? I know we all miss Scoobs and he can never be replaced. But a dogs company and love are one of the best gifts in this life.
Wow... just WOW! Our family vacationed on this beautiful lake twice each summer back in the 70's! So many epic memories! Soooooo sad to see all the water gone!!!
I was a river kid during the same time. Most epic time. Remember all the Budweiser swag? Red White & Blue time that seemed we were all a part of. We would zip sled and waterski and fish, sometimes on the houseboat with friends rafted up with their toys.
i love watching your videos, lake mead and salt lake is my favorites, im 66 yrs old and handicapped have a hard time traveling, so i travel with you, love te info you give, thank you
Clear skies and sunny 🌞 days !
Thank you for sharing as I'm so shocked to see Lake Mead with the water so low. I was on an expedition with about 14 other guys from Hawaii who drove across 6 of the western states planned by our family physician, for a lot of us, a graduation gift. Anyway, this was back in June/July of 1971. We camped at Lake Mead where at that time, the water was still at a high level. The first lake I ever swam in. Then we went on to Lake Powell in the Glen Canyon, camped there, and took the 50 mile round trip boat tour up to the Rainbow Bridge which was amazing. Most of us was 18 at the time. I'll be 70. Seeing the waterline of Lake Mead and Lake Powell being so low is really shocking.
So happy to see water levels have changed in a good way. Thanks for sharing. Be well
That bike trail is awesome, you’re not dealing with traffic at all. Make sure your ebike is fully charged, lot of uphill.
I just pray that a miracle can happen in Lake Mead will restore itself
Water, water, everywhere water. Thank you for another lovely adventure.😊☺️🤗
Excited to be driving 93 down to Kingman tomorrow, will take a good look at Lake Mead. Hoping to visit the Railroad Museum, thanks to your video for the idea!
Glad to see water again in the lake and the shoreline work being done. Keeping it afloat...
Oh man , love the rail trails !! 31 mile ride is a great day trip on my bicycle! Love my senior pass ! Got it a few years back !! Too much demand from millions of people on that reservoir! 😬
Appreciate the update on Lake Mead Russ! Improvement on the water level = So it isn’t the end of the world! Good Luck at the Stealership!
🙋Hello Russ! It was nice to ride out to see Lake Meade. Just need more rain. Here, Temps down as low as 47° by night up to 60°s during day. Fall is in the air for sure, cooler, & leaves are changing. Beautiful time of year in the mountains. Hope all is well with the Beast. Have a good week Russ. Look forward to Tech Tuesday.👍
Thanks for the show and tell , it was nice to see the lake is up.
Looking much better than before. Thanks Russ!
Looking forward to Tech Tues. It will be a nice program, as you are unbiased and respectful and tell it like it is when reviewing products. Thanks for sharing the update on the big lake. Yes, we had a ton of rain in Mohave County where we live.
I have been watching you for a long time now. I loved your Washington State series! So I give up. I have finally subscribed! Now you are stuck with me. An older disabled woman who doesn't have the ability to travel right now. Thanks for the ride!
thank you
Yeah, the national parks pass is so worth it. I'm disabled, so I got mine way early and it was free then. So I've been really enjoying mine now for a bunch of years. The 50% off camping is also awesome. So far I've only camped in a park once, but will likely do it again!
Long time Phoenix resident, first time seeing your videos. Seeing all those gorgeous highway vistas reminded me how much I love our beautiful American Southwest despite the brutal summers.
Seeing the water level markers for Lake Mead gave me a bit of "That Funny Feeling," to quote Bo Burnham's song. I was born in 1993, so seeing how far the water has dropped during my lifetime is really sobering.
A while ago, you showed
us Salt Lake, Utah :
Antelope Island (so named
cos Bison live there ?! 😊)
You were shocked to see how
the water level had gone
down so much , even leaving boat
moorings as just dry sand...😢
At Salt Lake, they take lots
of water out, for salt and
Magnesium production.
Apparently, many aquafers
are shrinking drastically...
Not as much snow melt
coming down in rivers....
Plus, over population,
requiring ever more
water....
It has rained recently,
but the huge dry area still
needs a lot , to recover....🌨️🌨️🌧️.
Love your videos : "down-to-earth "
and interesting.
There's a guy in U.K. who
goes in his camper van on
" adventures" with his lovely
dog, " Sherpa" .They have a
great time visiting many places,
the dog is SO happy, well cared for ,
fed, watered : we get to see new
places, the guy ( Jamie) does a good
job "taking us round" :
everyone's happy !😊🐕🇬🇧.
" Sherpa" sometimes gets
a " doggy ice cream " !
("How cool is that ?!"
says Jamie !😊🐕🎉🐕).
🇬🇧😊🐕😊💕🇺🇲🐕🇬🇧
Thank you so much.
Got my senior pass when it was only $10. Got it entering Montezuma Castle in AZ. Saved me a pretty penny since then. Love the bike path idea if ever that way again. You've got me thinking!
Thank you for Sharing this ❤️ safe and happy 😊 journeys
There's still hope for the lake to survive
Been watching your vids getting some insight where to go that is not high in elevation. Thank you for the Sedona video, I watched it many times because I cannot take high elevation. My husband and I went and it’s amazing…..
Enjoy your videos, love the desert.
Another enjoyable video. Thanks RVerTV!
I'm happy to see the lake is up. Love the video. Can't wait for the Tech Tuesday.
It does look better than last time, thanks for the tour, Russ.
I traveled Hwy. 93 twice, once each in 1983 and 1984. Hwy 93 was 2 lanes and Lake Mead was spilling into the spillways in '83.
FYI, If you are a Veteran, your NP Pass is free. I appreciate the perspective of how deep underwater you would be.
Thank you😃
Thanks for the info. Glad to see it go UP 4 feet, but how long will that last? Hate to be pessimistic ,but every time I see those huge white rings all around, I have concerns.
hey, where ya been!!! not enough water for all the people on the list for Mead. big problem
Looking forward to Tech Tuesday!
sooooooooo glad to hear water is up ....
Great videos dude! I love how much you love the desert :)
I'm glad you went back to Lake Head, I was curious how it looked. Thank you!
Thank you for the summer road trip, I have really enjoyed the scenery! Looking forward to next year.
If you want more updates on Lake Mead, and you like watching a family hunt and fish, check out Sin City Outdoors.
Thanks Russ ! Great to know.
I wonder what property values in Vegas will be worth when Mead totally dries up.
How would that change property values?
The casinos would still be there
@@GratefulOverlander apparently you're not aware that Lake Mead feeds water to Vegas. Think you can get by without water?
@@mtradz there are other ways to get water. And if it was an issue, they wouldn't be building million dollar homes across from Lake Mead...yet they are, and they are all selling.
@@mtradz let em sleep.....they do not need water.:)
95% of Las Vegas gets it’s water from Mead. Mead will dead pool, but still have water for Vegas, there just won’t be water going downstream of the dam.
the only reason water level is up slightly is because of heavy water restrictions in arizona and utah that went into effect a month or two ago. the amount of rainfall/snowfall hasn't changed.
Don’t be a hater.
That’s true but your rainfall level has gone up (Utah) this summer also.
We have had an actual monsoon season this year. First time in years we have had this much rain so I would say you are incorrect.
Wrong. Restrictions not even a drop's difference in that reservoir. Arizona uses less than their 1957 measurement and Nevada doesn't reach their own allocation. We all know where the water is going. Please stop this nonsense.
Actually I live there and the only reason it is up is that we had an exceptionally rainy monsoon season
Awesome video- have a great day
Hey Russ!!! "KEEP THE BEAST" "PURRING "!!!
Another GREAT video, Russ!
When I first arrived in Las Vegas, that road was just a small 2 lane road, now it is a large 4 lane divide highway.
Your statement of throwing a ton of money here is right on. Are they doing that because they anticipate the return of high water levels, or because they think the low levels are here to stay?
Time will tell. I hope it gets back to full pool in my lifetime.
“The mighty Lake Mead”
Well done, Russ.
Another good one thanks..cool
Great Video Thanks Alot
Levels about to go over 1,045 elevation, which it hasn't been above that level since June. But, unless we get rain, the levels should begin to drop as Lake Powell needs to keep their levels up.
Russ, if you start the bike ride in Henderson, your on a bike trail away from any traffic, quite a few videos on the Tube about this trail.....
You sir, are just cool. Thank you.
Lol,it does pay to be old.I'm getting one of those passes. Thank you for the info.
Loving this trip. Do you think the lake will ever be full again
Yes the senior pass is great I love it and I got the art they are they ARP you name it I got it all of it now it's time to enjoy life but I love traveling with you too Russ you're the best thanks for the ride yay
Well seems like someone watch RVer TV and decided that Lake Mead was worth the investment to extend the boat ramp. Great work Russ; Good footage of the Lake's revitalization. Hopefully this winter will produce snows that will assist in replenishing Lake's Mead and Powell.
RAIN DANCE ❄️ 🌧 💃
I remember when it was free to go to Lake Mead, now they want to charge for everything. I lived in Las Vegas for almost 40 years and it was always free.
Howdy Russ - 10 - 15 years ago the natural lakes in our area of western Canada were down due to "unprecedented yada yada..." - one launch was using a couple old high crop farm tractors to wade the trailers in vs submerging expensive vehicles/getting stuck etc.
The lakes are full again due to increased precipitation upstream.
I am a winter visiting alien so I buy the annual America The Beautiful Pass - talk soon
Fall is in the air. No more 100's.
Another great video. So I wonder who is paying for all this construction and what is there plan? Hard to believe that the lake won't keep going down as people aren't leaving the southwest.
at least this time of year its not 95 at 10 am after a cool night!! nice video Russ
Water levels in reservoirs do tend to rise & fall. Unfortunately water consumption only goes up in America.
Request: Can you do a video on BLM camping near Vegas? I see what looks like a ton of possibilities in the Red Rock area. I'm still doing research for my future nomad life and like the idea of living near a major metro area like Vegas virtually for free. San Diego is also tempting but I don't see a whole lot of options nearby. Thanks for your informative videos.
Great to see a little more water in Lake Mead. Once again thanks for taking us on the road. 🇦🇺🇦🇺👍👍
Maybe their putting that new boat ramp in so everybody can get their boats OUT of Lake Mead...A mass exodus of boat take outs.
In one video, recently,
they said that behind
Hoover dam, the water level
is very low , but actually
there is even less ,
because there is a deep
layer of silt that settled
from water coming
towards the dam.
I think they said the silt
was 70 (?) feet deep....
about a third (?) of the
total depth.😢...
The whole area is so
dry now, but people are
still coming to live here !
Glad there were storms,
(but sympathy for the
damage caused 😢)....
Storms put the water level
up a bit....hoping for
more rain ....🤔.🌧️
I thought, years ago,
when they warned
of "water wars ", that
de-salination places
ought to increase...
High capital investment
though.....U.K. had a drought,
Spring & Summer 2022.
Sympathy and
Best Wishes from England .
🇬🇧🦉☺️💕🇺🇲🥀💳😢🇬🇧
Nice to see that the water is up. Unfortunately rain won't do a whole lot in the long run unless it rains for 40 days and 40 nights. Every little bit does help but what they need is a big winter snowpack in the mountains for a decade and no more population growth.
@Richard Hildebrand Just an Ark reference but this has only a little to do with man made climate change. The main reason is because too many people went to the well too many times for all their water needs.
Really have enjoyed your videos the last 3 years. I think I need to Join.
Water use will fall of before and during harvest season for farmers. Because they need their irrigated fields to dry up. So to get combines and trucks through them.
I bike the railroad trail up to Boulder City and back. It makes fun a fun afternoon or morning.
Hi Russ 😃
All of the natural parks are free for anyone and everyone in the UK.
Last time I was there was 2018 and I remember thinking then the lake was really low, we were there to hike the tunnel trail that time.
Russ you should take the jet boat tour from Laughlin to London Bridge
Hi Russ!
How you doin' Russ
Good news. and more ice on rocky mountain for increase water level.
Did you go over that new bridge over hoover dam at the beginning? That thing looks like it must be a mile high
good evening russ hope there is nothing found bad on your van it always worried me getting out braking down no to can't afford it can't afford repairs youtube is out your doing it
Thought you used Swanty’s in Bullhead City for work on your van!
When do the big tents come up in your neck of the woods down there in Arizona
Check it OUUUT!
I wondered what happened to you. I havent seen anything from you all summer. I always like your videos.
What did they do plug the holes that were draining the lake?
I watched a video on UA-cam, apparently most of the rain that falls on the rocky's (I think) gets diverted and ends up in the Mississippi river .
Another relaxing video, Thumbs up given.👍🏽 I'm curious, why wouldn't you want to ride a bike through Henderson??? 😕
Question for you? The water line signs, was the water line to base of the post? So basically if u put your feet next to the post that would be where the water was when they set the post? Am I understanding that right?
Hi Russ. You're electric bike could do that River Mountains loop trail easily couldn't it ?
I enjoy your videos as there is no drama it's literally what you see and experience, Excellent. You mentioned something about tech video each Tuesday, or something. One thing I'm grappling with is ebikes vs electric kick scooters, eg Segway Ninebot MAX Electric Kick Scooter. A ebike takes-up some volume, which the Nissan NV200/Recon Envy doesn't have. As well ebike are restricted on some walking paths which a scooter isn't and I can throw it in the van at night. It would be great for you to evaluate one for your needs, I'm sure an electric kick scooter vender would be elated to send you one for testing with your following and demographic. Travel Safe Buddy!
If you should show up in Oregon go to Crater lake national park since you got your national park pass
Nevada law makers need to put forth a bill funding the dredging of the lake, to increase its total acre feet capacity for water, to take advantage of wet weather when it finally comes their way. They can go to dry areas of the lake and take the lake down another 100 feet and sell the top soil to farmers and contractors to help pay for the dredging. Nevada also needs to also needs to work out a deal with California and Arizona to fund a pipeline from the Pacific to Northwest Arizona , that can be linked to southwest Nevada and desalination plants. Each state would need one plant for each million in population and the solar arrays to power the process. Then there is the pipelines and pump stations taking this water to Yuma, Phoenix, Tucson and north to Las Vegas. It would be a huge project, but it's a project worth doing. It would more than pay for itself.
I love these video updates you should hook up with Sin city fishing I"m sure those guys would take you out!!!
You need to get with the Sin City Outdoors boys and do some fishing out on Mead!
The monsoons this summer were just a drop in a bucket! The Hoover Dam is on Its way to dead pool, in less than a year!
Around 2-years. Another 150 ft to Dead Pool. Meanwhile, the River continues to inflow at 6 million acre ft/yr. SoKal, Zona will have interrupted supplies, same as rolling power brownouts.
The states are shutting off the water sources to the lake
Could you portage a kayak from parking lot to water and go for a paddle, or fish?
Those lifetime passes are great! My "Adventure Pass" was even cheaper, like free if picked up in person, or $10 via mail. They are available to military Veterans and the handicapped. I have found one park where these cards are not accepted, Mt Rushmore!
I'd like to get one of those Senior cards. Where do I get one??
