Getting sick with COVID-19 can offer some protection from future illness, sometimes called “natural immunity,” but the level of protection people get from having COVID-19 may vary depending on how mild or severe their illness was, the time since their infection, and their age.
Getting a COVID-19 vaccination is also a safer way to build protection than getting sick with COVID-19. COVID-19 vaccination helps protect you by creating an antibody response without you having to experience sickness. Getting vaccinated yourself may also protect people around you, particularly people at increased risk for severe illness from COVID-19. Getting sick with COVID-19 can cause severe illness or death, and we can’t reliably predict who will have mild or severe illness. If you get sick, you can spread COVID-19 to others. You can also continue to have long-term health issues after COVID-19 infection.
While COVID-19 vaccines are effective, studies have shown some declines in vaccine effectiveness against infections over time, especially when the Delta variant was circulating widely.
The mRNA vaccines do not contain any live virus. Instead, they work by teaching our cells to make a harmless piece of a “spike protein,” which is found on the surface of the virus that causes COVID-19. After making the protein piece, cells display it on their surface. Our immune system then recognizes that it does not belong there and responds to get rid of it. When an immune response begins, antibodies are produced, creating the same response that happens in a natural infection.
In contrast to mRNA vaccines, many other vaccines use a piece of, or weakened version of, the germ that the vaccine protects against. This is how the measles and flu vaccines work. When a weakened or small part of the virus is introduced to your body, you make antibodies to help protect against future infection.
Everyone ages 18 and older should get a booster shot either 6 months after their initial Pfizer or Moderna series, or 2 months after their initial Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine. People ages 16-17 may get a booster dose of Pfizer at least 6 months after their initial series of vaccines.
The CDC says A person is fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving all recommended doses in the primary series of their COVID-19 vaccination. A person is up to date with their COVID-19 vaccination if they have received all recommended doses in the primary series and one booster when eligible.
Getting a second booster is not necessary to be considered up to date at this time. A study by The Cleveland Clinic found that both previous infection and vaccination provide substantial protection against COVID-19. Vaccination of previously infected individuals does not provide additional protection against COVID-19 for several months, but after that provides significant protection at least against symptomatic COVID-19."
I am an "at risk" person who knows that the bigger risk is trusting the people who put us at risk in the first place.

I am unvaxxed and I still have not caught any Covid despite volunteering to come in close contact with it for nearly a year, only person in my family that has passed from Covid was vaxxed and it happened right after he took it.

My Grandmother and brother have both received the vaccine and the boosters that come with it. Since then both have been hospitalized repeatedly with severe Covid-19. And they had so much to argue about with me not getting vaccinated. I’ve been healthy ever since the pandemic was announced and before then. I am my family have also been tested multiple times and came back negative each time.
They are not being hospitalized for COVID. It is the jabs!!

If you get vaccination wrong you end up protecting against covid BUT also preventing your body from doing its own thing and now not only is the virus attacked but some of your bodies chemical processes are under attack as well.
The virus comes rarely for a few days but your body chemistry is needed every day for your whole life.

My parents had four shots and by the end of 2022, they both got CoVID. I on the other hand have never taken the poison and I've never got COVID, never been positive in the RTPCR. Our local hospital according to our local hospital was said to be overwhelmed. I went there the following day. Almost empty parking lot, 1 person in ER, empty hallways and many many rooms empty or locked.

I got vaccinated and proceeded to get covid 4 times and wow did I feel it.
I didn't get vaccinated and didn't even know I had it.
I brought my wife to the hospital when she went into labor. They tested me and 3 hours later they said I was COVID positive. An hour later they asked me if I was vaccinated. When I told them I wasn't the first 3 days of my son's life I got to see through a window in six inches of snow.

Me too. 2 doses, first dose of AZ vaccine was the worst drug I ever took, caused swelling in my eye lid for 4 weeks, worst drug I've ever taken and I've taken many illegal drugs. Then got sick 8 times last year, at least 3 of which were of the CV19 lineage. Total failure of a vaccine.
Didn't get vaccinated. I'm 58 and my wife is 59. I haven't been sick since sometime before Covid and she felt "somewhat down" for a day. Anecdotal for sure but, 3 years later, we're still waiting for the virus they said was immanent and required the emergent decision to take a rushed vaccine.
For all those who want to label people who didn't get/want this vaccine. We have/get all other vaccinations. Well, except flu. We're still healthy. I'll decide when I'm old enough or my health is a concern and I need the flu vaccine. Until then, an anecdotal win for a healthy lifestyle and immune system. I say anecdotal because apparently the "science" has determined a jab is better for you than being healthy.

I have not seen a child with chicken pox in years because of the varicella vaccine. We all have choices to make when it comes to our health. What is good for one, is not good for someone else. Let people make their decisions and respect their choice.
Many people in California lost their jobs over Covid vaccines. Some tried to stay faced terrible treatment at work.
Those mandates have not gone away either. Lots of us can't get a job in our own fields and certainly not in any government capacity because of the mandates. You still can't go to a public swimming pool without a card. You can't work elections (which has gravely affected the poor who need this work). The libraries are supposed to demand a card, but they have not been doing so where I go. It will take an act of God to eliminate them.
And yet Californians had a chance to vote out that clown but decided to keep him.

Hubby tested positive for clovid. Fever and chills for a few days. We both took ivermectin so now we have immunity. I didn't feel sick at all.
